Dandeer is more evil than any protagonist I have seen on SV. Even when it is supposed to be a villain quest.

I mean, it is Dandeer.
Wasn't referring to her, I was referring to the posters. I expect sadism from her, and to a certain degree from posters...but not like that...maybe I just don't notice this kinda stuff.

Still that raises all the wrong questions that we're basically still all playing into her hand...well not hand in the sense of you know how she wants things to go, but in terms of her warped mentality, who knows maybe this little snap shot into her head shows that she believes this is the proper way to treat an apprentice.

Eh its non canon so only you know we can merely suppose until we stick her on trial...

@PoptartProdigy
Do the exile magicians know a way of stripping another magician of their power? As in not simply sealing it away, but flat out removing the ability to use it ever again? After all Dandeer is the best so I don't trust her not to have a way to break such a seal or show someone else how to do it for her.

Paranoid yes, but I think in this instance I think we will all agree paranoia is worth it.

If they do, you've not heard of it.

If they do, you've not heard of it.
I'd argue we'd have heard of it through legal stuff, but thinking on it I dunno if Kakara's studied legal cases and stuff.

My logic is that as precedents and the like are very important for any ruler to know, so she'd learn of important legal cases where something like that may come up, but eh. No big deal and I'd imagine the magicians would like to handle their business in private given their negative reputation.

If they do we're (fingers crossed) going to be learning about it very very soon.

Ooh, hm. Looks like Berra might be in condition to witness Kakara getting taken down, and if anything would give him a bonus to a willpower check, that'd likely give him a massive one.

Y'know what, fuck it: We should get a hollow tooth with a senzu bean in it for situations like this.

Or a pouch in our stomach, held by an adhesive that resists stomach acid but would break open to release the bean at a slight twist of ki. We should look what R&D the Saiyans have outside of technique creation/rediscovery, and have them try to create one. If it goes well, we can even move them onto more out-there stuff, like Blutz Wave generators surgically attached to optic nerves, etc.

Well, Poptart has to ask themselves when writing this particular negaverse quest: What mentality could cause posters to vote to do what Dandeer has manifestly done?

Still that raises all the wrong questions that we're basically still all playing into her hand...well not hand in the sense of you know how she wants things to go, but in terms of her warped mentality, who knows maybe this little snap shot into her head shows that she believes this is the proper way to treat an apprentice.
Yes, but in that case it's not us playing into her hands, it's Dandelor. And he's doing it by kicking her ass, which at least gives him what HE wants even if by unhappy coincidence it seems to give her what SHE wants too.

We on the other hand, are some kind of demented incomprehensible mutant in her mental universe. :p

I'm not sure there's a difference between "seal it away" and "remove it" given that Exile sealing magic seems to work on the principle of "create the Platonic concept of a barrier between this thing and that thing," and can work on abstract concepts.

Like, have Dazarel's psychic powers been sealed away, or removed? I'm not sure the answer is even meaningful, and we are assured that the seal is effectively unbreakable by anything short of divine intervention as far as we know.

We could do much the same to Dandeer, and I'm about as confident that it would work as I am that the seal on Dazarel is working.

At the (hopefully slight by now) risk of starting salt, 'spoof transformation then blast on powerup' is an uncommonly -sophisticated- plan for a mind-controlled drone.
I have a suspicion that the already 40 odd factions in this fight just added an UnSealed Lord Vegeta.

Well, it's pretty clear that Dandeer basically did the Mind Control equivalent of the species-wide "don't think about the Vegetan Sorcerers".

Which is to say, the subject functions as normal in general, but everything is hooked into a decision loop of "protect and obey Dandeer". She gives them broad orders but they decide how to carry them out.

Entirely possible. But then why did she not then just give a command 'Stop raping and abusing Dandeer'?

Kakara's fighting style had always been unrefined at best, but always she had made up for it in her unusual choices. When she was young, she had taken a liking to Solar Flare, and used it to great advantage in spars. She created a new transformation in Golden Oozaru, and now she had taken to using that very transformation as a weapon against him.

Were it not for the circumstances, he might be proud of her, turning her relatively-weaker state to her advantage by using the slowness of Oozaru against him, and taking out Vegeta

...Dandeer's tail?! "You're hurting her, Kakara," He tried to be patient. She'd always... well, usually, been reasonable. "Listen to her. This isn't you-"

She glared at him, "How would you know?! You never understood how I think!" Kakara began shaking Dandeer, her screaming increasing in pitch, "She'll survive this! It's not permanent, it just really hurts! Trust me, I know! She's not going to die, and she's going to be able to use her tail again. She'll just cry a lot without being able to move. Compared to what she's done, this is nothing!"

Tears sprang up in Kakara's eyes as he lunged to extricate Dandeer from her grip. "I'm sorry, Dad." She whispered, quietly enough that an unenhanced Saiyan would be unable to hear. "Dandelor! Do it!"

Pain. Searing pain as he'd never felt before, not even in spars where he'd had his tail pulled inadvertently. It felt like shards of glass being shoved into his mind and body, only to explode from within.

There was a screaming, loud and long as he fell toward the floor with a thud. The pain didn't end as he hit it at full force, the only mercy that it was too overwhelming for him to even notice the impact.

His body contorted on the floor, limbs unfolding, muscles tensing to such an extent that he could feel them tearing apart. There was a crack as a hand impacted the floor. Broken, like him.

Several eternities of agony later, it took him some time to process what he was seeing.

His daughter had went to revive the Vegeta scion, and a beam burned through her chest from behind.

No... no! Not his daughter, not his baby! He couldn't, he wouldn't, he had to...

Been my guess for a while. It certainly fits the vision we saw of her selfinjury.

We should look what R&D the Saiyans have outside of technique creation/rediscovery, and have them try to create one. I had the first idea (and a variant of the false tooth one), but not the second. Go look at my second or third post in this thread, if you like.

Turned Tables
[X] What is this thing somebody has slipped you? Find out.

Turned Tables
With a wrench that takes up all of your concentration, you shove the vision away from your eyes. You can't get sidetracked now, when you're this badly hurt. You need to find out what somebody thought was worth slipping to you now of all times.

Please be a bean, please be a bean, please be a- Oh thank kais, it's a bean, eating it right now!

You crunch down on the bean as soon as you manage to focus enough on it to recognize it. Then it starts going to work.

You can feel the hole in your chest sealing up, and you writhe in discomfort at the sensation, gritting your teeth. The worst part is that the shock fades away just before the last of the injury seals closed. You whimper as you feel the last of the pain unblocked by your body's natural response to an injury of this magnitude. Your fingers dig grooves into the stone beneath you. At last, though, it passes. You take a long, shuddering breath and kip to your feet. You don't know how long you've been down, and-

Your eyes widen.

Feet away from you, Grandma lies crumpled on the stone, out cold. Dad continues to writhe off in the distance, now far past the point of screaming. Jaffur and Vegeta both lie unconscious, bleeding from their scalps. Dandeer lies where you left her.

And off by the wall, Yammar finishes grinding Dandelor's face into the wall, flinching and whirling to face you. The sorcerer collapses in a heap, surrounded by the other Senzus.

Knocked out, not dead, you tell yourself, numb. Not dead, not dead.

"I see you managed to feed yourself a Senzu bean," says Yammar, slowly approaching you. "Impressive. Here I'd thought my son had put you out of the fight for good."

Your fingers curl into fists, and you growl in the back of your throat. "How?"

He comes to a halt a few yards away, transformed. He gives you a cold smile. "Apra never did have enough focus for proper combat. When she heard Jaffur panicking, she had to see what happened, and when she saw you..." He chuckles. "Well, she'll wake up eventually."
Communication [Yammar vs. Kakara]: 146 vs. 129.

You see red and lunge forward with a hoarse scream, transforming.

Yammar phases back and skips up into the air, outright laughing now. "Oh, already? But I haven't even told you how I beat my grandson, yet!"

"GET BACK HERE, BUTCHER!" you scream, firing up your aura and framing your hands around him. "KIKOHO!"

He rolls to the side, his lip twisting in apparent contempt even as you lunge into the air after him. "You see, Jaffur is quite the combatant, Kakara. He's prepared all his life for the task of killing my son. And you know, I think he was honestly angry enough to do it before he had a chance to consider what he was doing. But...it wasn't just my son. And Jaffur has not trained all his life to fight two-on-one. Perhaps in another ten years. As it stood...no. Credit to him, he did take Vegeta with him, although they'll both recover given time. And then, I had a few seconds alone with the Senzus in between those two going down and you getting back up -- and you know what people like us can do with a few seconds."

You grit your teeth and pull your aura in around yourself in Jaffur's signature technique. Your ki clings to your limbs like paste, and you lunge forward, just a shade faster than Yammar expects.

The mirth drops off his face and he focuses fully on the fight. You come on in a headlong rush, fast and strong and furious. You're stronger now than you've ever been.

Which makes it all the more infuriating that Yammar dodges or blocks all of it.

No matter how you fight, he matches you. Wherever you strike, he leans aside. If you even get close, his arms and legs intercept yours. At one point you fire off a solar flare, and he closes his eyes at just the right moment to waste it. Even as you push yourself harder and harder, driving straight to your limits, he keeps just a step ahead of you the whole time-

He blurs, and you gag as his fist sinks into your side. Impacts race up your body in a fiery line so fast it feels instantaneous, culminating in a sharp blow to your forehead that makes the world spin. You feel Yammar's hand on your throat.

"You are not remotely ready to fight me, child," he says, drawing back his hand.

WHAM

* * *
You come to after a moment's blackout, buried in rubble. You feel Yammar, still above, waiting.

You are battered and bruised, but, taking stock, still in possession of three Senzu Beans. Your head is spinning, and you're pretty sure that if you fought as you are now, you'd lose.

At the back of your skull, the same vision still beckons, stronger this time.

It would seem that Vegeta taking you down in so brutal a manner caused something of a cascade failure in your allies. Apra got distracted (blew a willpower check), giving Yammar the opening he needed to finish her off, and that left Jaffur fighting two to one odds. Credit to him, he took down Vegeta; unfortunately, Yammar won, and managed to take down the Senzus, presumably prior to Dandelor getting off another spell.

You are heavily injured, but have three beans left. Your brief fight with Yammar has made it abundantly clear how outclassed you are.

What do you do?

[ ] At this point you need something exceptional. Visions show you things you'd think were relevant, right? Let it in and see what it has to say, as long as you're already out for the moment and nobody is defending themselves.
[ ] Take another bean, get back up, and fight.
-[ ] Fight at a distance, burning ki for time. You have Senzu beans; you can recharge. He can't. You just need to keep them safe, and you can wear him down.
-[ ] Okay, so last time didn't work out so well, but he must be at least a little tired now. Go full-bore and put him down, fast.
[ ] Take another bean, get back up, and run.
-[ ] Just run.
-[ ] Write-in one person to try to evacuate with you.
[ ] Write-in.

MANUAL MORATORIUM; APPROVAL VOTING.

The dice did not look favorably on you, this time.

Not gonna lie, things are pretty bad right now. Choose your course of action carefully. You're not courting a Bad End at this point, but it is very possible that you'll eat an unmitigated loss.

See you around the thread, folks. Again, I'll be elsewhere for a bit. See you when I'm back.

I'm starting to get a really bad feeling about this.

Poptart, what do the exiles currently know about time travel?

EDIT: Is it possible that Dandeer's sealed part of herself?
They know that Trunks did it. It seems conceptually possible, if deeply unwise.

Didn't see this before I posted. If it's any consolation, it wouldn't have helped. Non-canon, bonus to willpower checks.

Alright.

Write-in possibility: Forcefeed Yammar the memories of what Dandeer did to the vegetan sorcerors. While he's distractecd by them, eat one bean, and give Jaffur and Apra the two that remain.

we were pretty unlucky these last few turns.

@PoptartProdigy Would it be possible to use tk to stealthily feed a senzu been to Jaffur or Apra while he's distracted talking to us (and have them chew it),

This one is good too

I doubt this is would work. Yammar surely brought Senzu beans just like Kakara did. And even if he didn't, he just had an easy opportunity to loot the Senzus.

Yyyyyep, taking down Vegeta was definitely the superior move. Shit.

I mean, considering the reoccurrence of the vision getting our attention, that feels like it might bail us out in some way. I don't wanna lose any seconds, but it might have a Victory condition that we super duper need right now, and not taking it would be very stupid.

Other thoughts, we have 3 Senzu beans left.

...

Could a Senzu bean heal Dad's agony?

Jaffur and Apra are also options. If Multiform wasn't suicide with Yammar present I'd split off one or two and rez an ally.
