Allowing the nickname engenders familiarity. He might not like it but a manipulator knows when to swallow his personal feelings and play along eith the idiots.
Eh, maybe but only if it is needed and Xanatos would probably be smart enough to realize it is not needed with doof.

I'm confused why there was do much dilemma over how much Xanatos knew/what to tell him?

He's got a shit ton of intrigue and is one of those "a hand in every pot/knows what's going on almost everywhere" kinda guys... when I first saw the vote I thought to myself he probably already knows so it doesn't really matter beyond how he perceives the manner in which we tell him.

Which, still important but I digress.

As far as which of the options to take... I'm really tempted to say we should take the Xanatos one. Janna's our employee, so we can always contact her, ya know, contacts later. Have her reach out, if nothing else.

And we can always hunt down a potion maker on our own time (which the option seems to suggest).

But when it comes to Xanatos... it's not every day that we'll have the chance to ask him something like this and have him likely to give an answer. And it's possible he might even go so far as to introduce us, or even recommend us to someone that we wouldn't otherwise be able to access/gain an audience with.

So, yeah, I definitely think we should take up Xanatos' option.

Anyone know what we might see on auction? I'm hoping for another Shendu talisman, or maybe some monsters we can do science to.

Better safe then sorry.

keep in mind the idiot trait we have actually makes reading Doof surprisingly difficult and he's been shown to be very competent to Xanatos not only finding out about the magical community but finding out about Toffy and his goals. On top of the Galla and everything else.

he's being cautious because he wants/needs Doof onboard as even with Doof they are looking upward at Toffy.

She's self-proclaimed strongest witch on the isles, with her only real competition seeming to be Belos, whatever his deal is. I'd say at the very least she has a very high functional Martial.

Is Hooty in her stat line as a trait, do you think? Because if so, her martial skyrockets whenever she's near her house.
As I said, I think she's likely to have a trait similar to Felldrake's, applying her Occult to her Martial but only for combat rolls.

As for traits, I think she'd have one Trait for Owlbert, Hooty, and King similar to Jumba's, one Trait for the magical equivalent of Omnidisciplinary Scientist, one negative Trait for her curse , and one negative Trait for her complete ignorance regarding all things Human, which would be an even more brutal version of Khan's trait.

Retroactively saying your opinion was right all along isn't particularly convincing. Perhaps you should share your opinion next time.

Also, as far as Shego goes I wouldn't assume that he thinks positively of her - I don't think there would have been an intrigue check if those were his real feelings on the matter.

On another note, it's hilarious that Janna is starting to turn Doof into an unintentional troll by dint of sheer proximity.

And as far as the War goes... anyone familiar with the other faction Xanatos said Tophee's warring against?

Retroactive Xanatos Intrigue Check: How much does he know about the Metaworld Wars?

Ah, yes, Xanatos. Figures he'd crit a retroactive Intrigue check.
Not just crit, That roll was two points away from a Double-crit. I think its safe to assume that Xanatos "Just Knows" He's got the real plan.
You have no idea what this means.

But it seems important.
HMMMMMM.
Either that or he thinks we've already teamed up and he's afraid badmouthing her would be bad for his alliance with Doof.
Or he's god a third plan in mind that us working with her contributes towards, because my man always has a plan.
Edit: Actually, Xanatos probably also knows about Bill, one way or another.
Oh, He knows. He just knows ALL the freaking things. Like, at this point I think we should ask him about Hawaii just to see if we can get his support for Flubber

but down at the bottom of the parking garage (ignoring the dirty look from the man in the booth),
Forgot, but... new nemesis in the making?

This thread/the discord moves very fast, and I often don't have time to keep up with it.

So I didn't bother weighing in on a conversation I'm not going to follow/didn't know was happening in the first place.

And hence my confusion, as it was a very obvious possibility to me that Xanatos might know - when in doubt, assume Xanatos has at least an inkling of what's going on.

Phobos from W.I.T.C.H.
Waaaaait a minute.

"The light you seek shall not be found. Though others might join and effort abound. Til' the demon stands where died her mate, against the world in reckless hate."

"Through hate she will inspire fear. This darkness comes- within one year. Though her plan will fail, the veil will lift; through truth, her people set adrift."
I don't know my W.I.T.C.H., but they are apparently the Guardians of the Veil, which is the thing keeping Phobos penned in. Witch people, is this something we should worry about?

Xanatos sent you a letter saying that he got ahold of some very interesting information about the auction this year, mentioning things like pieces of the Shengxiao Set and an Encantus up for sale. He encourages you to begin setting aside funds for the auction, and you don't plan to disagree.
The Encantus is "a textbook of magic and spells. These books typically include instructions on how to perform supernatural charms, spells, and also how to create magical objects such as amulets and talismans. An Encantus is considered a magician's guideline that teaches sorcerers the art, history, and science of sorcery." from the sorcerer's apprentice movie

And, of course, more TALISMANS! Collect all 12 to gain a frankly-stupid-variety-of-powers!

If you'd be so kind as to elaborate, as someone who's never even heard of said show... how big of a concern is this guy?
Quite a big one. He's ruthless, cunning, and has a VAST array of magical powers. And, if he won, he's probably absorbed Elyon, his sister, which would enhance his already vast powers to near-godly levels. He's certainly on Toffee's level, at least. Not quite on par with BIll, but then who is? His one weakness is that he's fairly lazy, but, even without his sister's powers, he's strong enough to beat a full team of supers single-handly.

Pfffttttt, THAT'S EDA from Owl House!! She's here!? Quick go get her! Where's the Master Ball!? She is the number 1 magic user I want in our payroll.
Ohhhh, that Eda. Yeah, I don't know why my mind first went to Edna Mode. I was like, "what are you talking about? That doesn't sound anything like her!" :p
Probably some nasty traits, though.
On the bright side, the automatic potion-brewing could do wonders for her condition, so long as we learn the ingredients of that mixture.

I for one am interested in the other parts of the talismans. We already got one. We gotta collect 'em all!
