I highly doubt that Toffee would use Kalabar to attack the auction when he isn't in a position yet to take advantage of the decapitation. Kalabar's probably going to have fun with Phobos.

I mean, leaving aside that he's obviously not attacking the auction directly, and that if he was it would probably be to our benefit, it doesn't change the fact that we're more secure than Buddy and he was facing off against an entire team of combat capes.
Honestly, I'm kinda expecting the black flame candle to be at the auction, so witches, maybe in this it resurrects other spirits as well.
Did we even equip Doof with the talesman?

This feels like actual progress is about to happen.

Okay, I was one of the ones advocating against telling Xanatos everything, but if Doof calls on a flashback to explain the whole thing I'll laugh. Then again, it's Janna's traumatic backstory, so she has flashback first-refusal rights.

Actually, who's next on our recruitment queue? Excepting the people we recruit from Coyote's interludes and any rolodex contact from that batch that we don't pick at first but call back immediately, of course?

We did just take our first tentative steps into magitech, but I think we have more pressing Diplomacy actions. Campaigning for Flubber, opening up relations with more people (I'm thinking Shere Khan next)...

We're also on Xanatos' home turf; where he's had almost two years to build up anti-magic defenses and get magical assets on his side. If Kalabar and Co. decide to crash the auction, they're likely to get a very warm welcome. Plasma ain't exactly a cool breeze ya know.
Correction. He's attacking on the one day of the year that he can get more than a handful of his conscripts out of Halloweentown. And frankly even with Kalabar's corruptive influence, Halloweentown's residents have kind of degenerated pretty heavily from murderous monsters in the night.

Edit: Honestly @Cjdavis103 you're overlooking the fact that; as Feldrake foreshadowed, there are probably several cursed artifacts here. Like the Black Flame Candle. Pretty sure we're going to have to deal with the Sanderson sisters.
