Jesus then it's on us for apprently sending a team into the wild completely unprepared to deal with dangerous robots.
They were prepared to deal with dangerous robots. What they got were dangerous robots equipped with mind control
We don't know how bad it is in character.
Imagine if some highly obscure faction from a franchise the thread knows nothing about was going to start shit and Xanatos told us without mentioning that the faction has mindreaders that can detect people just by hearing their thoughts despite said information being readily available to him

It was an occult quest in the September/October slot. Personally, I figured it would be self-evident.

Were you expecting to bargain with supernatural entities and the mystical movers and shakers on Labor Day?

EDIT: Oh, and MiH did say it was Halloween. Convenient.
How did I miss that?

I swore it didn't mention that or I'd have insisted we bring Norm instead of Vanessa.

well now we're all idiots for not seeing that and realizing this was gonna be FUBAR

We don't know about the worst things about toffee though! This would be like Xanatos knowing they're creepy and seem to have a good intel network, in this metaphor, at best.

We brought our second and fourth best combat heroes with us.

We DON'T know Toffe is going to start shit. We don't know this, so we can't tell Xanatos this. I'd really love to tell Xanatos that, except we can't, because Heinz doesn't know it. Heck, I'd love it if Doof knew about it in the first place. But he doesn't, so the vote is really to tell Xanatos everything besides this.

yes and we should have brought more
We are in new york, so unless you're positing he's in on it (in which case you should instead be arguing that we should have skipped), any attack on the auction will have to contend with whatever forces Xanatos has in the area, which is at minimum his Iron Gargoyles (high level combat robots roughly on par with Normbots), our hero units, anyone at the auction with muscle of their own, and Xanatos and his hero units. This auction is not a soft target, and we in specific are one of the stronger forces here.

We have a hold on three whole states, and we're squeezing. Proving Toffee is a King doesn't prove he's bad news anymore than Shego the international criminal is.
A known world conquerer getting a foothold on our world is significantly more concerning than a corn magnate claiming Arizona. For all that ruling the world is the classic villain endgame, we're not under any illusions of being able to actually do that. We have to cooperate with at least some of our peers in order to stay in power in the long term. Toffee doesn't.

Yeah Jesus it would be amazing for us if Toffee decided that he wanted to burn Kalabar on attacking the auction for whatever reason. Nothing like a shared near death experic e to really bond two people.

Responses to things that got swallowed by pages of discussion but are kind of still relebant:

I'm not seeing what Xanatos has done to deserve this trust, but we are Dr Doof, I'm not sure he understands the concept of keeping a secret.
Mainly because Xanatos hasn't been committing actions to one-upping us or otherwise screwing us over, that Xanatos is generally competent/professional enough to not randomly decide to engage in hostilities with us, and that he's generally been willing to help us out (Castle tips, magic bazaar this turn, the fact that we actually have a Collaborate with Xanatos action).

What? No, we cannot trust that at all. We can only trust that Xanatos won't act in ways that disadvantage him more than our enemies.

If he thought destroying us to weaken Toffee was a good move, he'd take it.

Unlikely. Xanatos stands to gain more from a friendly King than he would a weakened enemy. If there were some magic ritual where Xanatos could gain immortality and wreck all his enemies by offing us he'd do it, make no mistake. But the relative value of an allied King that you can call on is worth a lot, far more then weakening another King is worth.

I'm saying that we can generally trust Xanatos to not actively harm us because he's rational enough to come to the conclusion that alienating a King he could have otherwise worked with is a bad move, and would thus avoid doing so unless he stood to gain even more. And things that are worth changing a (somewhat) equal ally into an enemy are fairly rare. Thus, we can assume that Xanatos won't dick us over outside special circumstances. Plus, we can just look at Xanatos' track record of not being a dick to us and actually giving us some assistance, and extrapolate that he's actually interested in having us around and working with us.

[X] Plan: Xanatos vs. The Forces of Evil

I would prefer FULL MONOLOGUE + Hybrid, but I'll take what I can get.

We dont know the worst things about toffee, but we do know bad and worse things about him, and Xan isnt gonna like it if his operation gets fucked because he only knew about the bad parts and not the worse parts.

Edit
We DON'T know Toffe is going to start shit.
The main reason we're telling xanatos about this at all is because we know toffee CAN start shit and want him to be prepared if toffee ever DOES

And yet, the fact that this known world conquerer has done nothing but sell us corn at cheap prices doesn't really indicate he plans to conquer us. In fact, Doofenshmirtz's information makes it seem more likely that his interest in this world is actually only Star. Xanatos investigating on his own is more likely to find out about the really concerning stuff than if we send him in with erroneous expectations.

Here's what we know about Toffee, that Xanatos potentially does not:
1. He's not from around here, he's from another dimension
2. He has access to magic and magical subordinates
3. He has access to dimensional transportation (Implied by first)
4. He's going after Star and Marco

The last I'd rather not tell him, and isn't part of the free info in any case. The other three were able to be proved by a bunch of screwball ninjas with a cellphone; we rolled a 122, which is Xanatos' average roll with no hero units.

Looks like the votes are pretty safe to call now, so I'm going to do so.

I wouldn't worry about anyone attacking the auction.

We already know that black candle things getting lit. Thats probably going to be enough of a problem on its own.

I'd agree with you except it's this one day. It's the one day a year that he and his forces are at their strongest and no one is expecting a massive assault

And I'm fairly certain Buddy beloved himself to be top tog there as well.

The "bad" things we know about Toffee is that he overthrew a magical dictatorship by means of bloody revolution. The "worse" things we know about Toffee is that he's hunting a teenage magical princess. Nothing we can tell Xanatos right now would make him think Toffee wants to fuck with his operation.

Xanatos isn't teling us about Phobos despite almost certainly knowing about it, so any argument based on Xanatos getting his feelings hurt would be really hypocritical on his end.

Edit: Oh well, vote closed. Still, this probably won't go too horribly, so *shrugs*.
