It might also be that specific use of advanced technology did not trigger the trait. Regardless it would be nice to have the trait explained more in depth.

The Khan still has pretty good stats. For instance, only three of our heroes are better than him in Stewardship (2 other heroes tie with him) (incidentally those are Technor (when at full power) and Wile E. Coyote). Would you rather that he have better stats, or would you rather he spend next turn hunting down the Resistance? I did over emphasise the Khan's weakness, but it does not mean that it is a good idea to sit on our laurels and hope that nothing changes so we can continue focusing on the Khan's martial to the exclusion of all else.

Edit:

It's not screwing the players over to let the natural results of everything fall into place. It is much safer to try to modernize Khan.

Yes it is. We understand how stats work because of this we can avoid the problems of his malus. Status trigger on two occasions. First, if you assign to national action. With our reservoir of heroes, we don't need to have Khan focus on non-martial actions.

Two quests. Inquests, any sort of roll can be called for. The quest leader and the high stat-hero available will add their stats. Understanding this, we can understand that as long as we don't assign him as leader, and we have at least one other non-leader hero, we can ensure we don't suffer from the rolls.

This leaves the only situation where it could occur out of our control to be.
1: We send Khan on a quest
2: During that quest, Khan gets involuntarily separated from the team.
3: Then a tech-based roll comes up.

This is not a set of circumstances that is worth benching our strongest martial hero for 4 turns (assume an average of 2 for each study action) unless we have absolutely nothing better to do. Specialized heroes are great. Trying to turn every hero into a generalist is silly.

I was thinking of the Khan getting separated from the rest of the questers. Regardless, this isn't about turning the Khan into a generalist (he won't ever be one), it's about working to ensure that the worst case scenario Does Not Happen. Depending on the quest, it would be extremely useful for the malus to not exist.

I would say it is unethical for Doof not to work on integrating Khan with modern society. He's the one who revived Khan, so he has a responsibility to make sure that Khan isn't left fish out of water. That is certainly not a mechanical look, but it is why I do not like the idea of letting that trait hang.

Edit: I have removed the last sentence of the first paragraph. It was inaccurate.

I leave the thread.

For one. Day.

One.

And we manage to swerve all the way into Arthur/Hazel fanfiction.

I am never leaving any of you alone again.

Also has anyone here seen Loonatics Unleashed?
Loonatics Unleashed has come up surprisingly often in this thread. Really, I don't know why? That was a WB production a few steps removed from Looney Tunes and nowhere near Who Framed Roger Rabbit, the reason why we have Looney Tunes characters in the first place.

Loonatics doesn't work for this, is what I'm saying. Don't worry about it.

Should I be asking about my Omake's potential for EXP yet, or should I wait a bit longer? I'm asking because MadeinHeaven already posted but I don't think there was any word on the Omake being seen and I'm not sure about the etiquette for this.

I assume because it would be really convenient if it did. We already have in-roads with the toon population. Which gets people thinking about powerful toon recruits->hero toons-> unleashed.

The real question is does Space Jam exists. Sure it's removed, but the cartoon-real world simultaneity is there. And who doesn't want to slam, and welcome to the jam?

Regarding personal action time for Khan: he'll probably get a chance soon. A significant number of our remaining Martial Actions are either high-tech related (Normbots, Power Armor) or have trivial DCs (the Resistance). Without being able to take two Martial actions per turn, that means we have some turns coming up the pipeline where Khan won't be necessary on National Actions, and while he'll probably be going on a field trip to Xanadu on one of those turns we can easily spare him for personal actions on the others. So we should save the knife-fighting for deciding which self-improvement PAs we'll take for him. (Personally, I'm in the history camp, at least until we have the dinos ready for mounting.)

Also, fun fact: our second-best Martial hero for quests right now is Janna, who's rocking an effective Martial of 42 (22 Occult + 20 Leopold the Horrible) in combat. Since she's also our only Occult hero for expeditions to probably-magical places like anything in the current temple questline, we can probably count on her to handle our Martial needs for a good chunk of our future quests.

Confession- I just read through ALL the updates
And as a minor furry myself, it crushed my heart to see "Judy Hopps dead" as part of the lore-news-goingsons-updates
I guess that would have happened if sheep won, but still

I really kinda hope that Space Jam actually happened one way or another, if only for the hilarity of Michael Jordan being kidnapped by Bugs Bunny. The cosmology of the movie probably wouldn't work, but just weld them together! We need Looney Tunes basketball!!!

What kind of stats do you think Michael Jordan has as a Hero unit?

I have an important question! One that could change the course of the quest forever! Would Research resiniferatoxin satisfy Dr. Jumba Jookiba? that is a joke, /s

I don't know if resiniferatoxin can be classified as anything but a weapon of mass destruction. While we're at it, it might be a good idea to classify Bueno Nacho as a crime against humanity! :p

Who says any of that exists here? Remember, Toons are ACTORS here. Actors who share many things in common with their on-screen roles, but still.

Fair, but they have blatantly different builds and voices. Lends itself better as the successors/descendants in the future.

One little issue with that that I am weirdly pleased to point out... Daffy duck, bugs bunny, and more were all in who framed roger rabbit. Some seen in toon town some in other places.

Make of that what you will but for me it gives enough for me to speculate on Loonatics as a potential research topic.

That was a nice little heart to heart between Doof and Goofy. It's not quite canon because of some details that will be revealed in time, but you've earned 500 XP regardless!
Aaaaaaaaah! Thank you so much! That makes my day! Though those details make me curious.

My priorities for EXP expenditure are going to be the Spy Network, Think Tank, or Admin Efficiency, followed by Getting Proffessor Ludwig, then Boot Camp, or then Magical artifact research. I'll be going all in on the first option I'm able to, in this order. Mostly because I haven't been able to track everyone else's EXP expenditures. I'll be lowering the difficulty on all but the Spy network, which I will be giving a reroll if it hasn't already gotten a bonus.

Great Success

You were wrong. Temujin is not your best friend. These last two months were nothing short of a living hell as you were forced to wake up at 4:30, run cross-country with only horse milk to drink, and do all sorts of incredibly exhausting exercises. You're pretty sure that you ache in places that you didn't even know existed, but on the bright side, you've got rid of your gut and put on a bit of muscle.

The tipping point came when Khan started working with Dennis too. As it turns out, if you take out the parts about taking advantage of being invulnerable, toon combat can be used pretty well by eccentric scientists too.

Reward: Doofenshmirtz gains the trait 'Blood of Temujin', granting 1d8+4 Martial! (Roll:3+4=7)

Critical Success

You got to thinking- if you're really bad at actually managing a country (seriously, you still can't manage to find your intercom), then why should you have to do anything at all? All the work you've done with your Normbots and the Palladium Chip got you thinking about how life would be so much simpler if you had an AI to manage everything. Well… you succeeded. After multiple sleepless nights supplemented by gallons of espresso, you managed to code a fully-functioning AI to perform all your managerial functions. You're honestly not sure how you managed that- looking over half the code seems like gibberish, and you're afraid that if you go poking around everything will collapse. It's very unlikely you'll repeat this feat again, at least until you understand a lot more about AI.

There will be an AI subvote where you can decide certain things about your new administrator.

Marginal Success

Setting up a spy ring is one of the most unbelievably exhausting things you've ever done. You and Mirage both put in overtime to find informants, vet spies, develop dead drops, and make use of isolated cells. Even with all her experience, you're pretty sure it wouldn't have been pulled off without you making sure every available resource was pushed onto the project. Nonetheless, your secret agent men are set up, and they answer to no one but you.

The idea of putting together a group of lesser scientists didn't really appeal to Jumba until you pointed out that he would get to order around the resulting group for the next few months. After that it was fairly smooth sailing. You knew you needed more than your average everyday microscope monkey to work your science. However, recognizing your previous mistakes with L.O.V.E.M.U.F.F.I.N., you decided that rather than look for more mad scientists, it would be best to split the difference. Your new group of… grumpy scientists? Kooky scientists? Whatever- are well established, stocked with on-tap espresso and even a hated vending machine (the things you do for science). They're unusual enough themselves to survive in a place like DEI, but grounded enough that you won't have to worry about LM's more pathetic eccentricities. They're like the anti-L.O.V.E.M.U.F.F.I.N. You shall call them… H.A.T.E.B.A.G.E.L.

[ ] Research minor magical artifacts
DC 70
86+0+10+12+5+1=114
Great Success

Having Lord Felldrake around is already paying dividends. With his help, Janna was able to identify the artifacts she had picked up from the Magus Bazaar and the few things Wile E and his team brought back from Peru. Perhaps calling them 'artifacts' was a bit dramatic- they're more like 'minor conveniences' at best. Little things, like charms that'll keep you comfortable in hot or cold weather, talismans to ward against stubbing your toe, potions that will make you slightly better at cooking, and other stuff like that. There's nothing groundbreaking in there, but you've got a good idea of what you can purchase from the Magus Bazaar.

Janna did manage to get a steal in the bargain bin. She picked up a potion of bottled dragon's breath that will let the drinker unleash a massive gout of flame once after imbibing it. Felldrake told her not to test it out in the interest of self-preservation, so you've got a chance to distribute it to a hero of your choice. They will get +10 to one combat roll once.

[ ] Upgrade your Normbots with the Palladium Chip
DC 30
6+38+14+1=59
Great Success

L.O.V.E.M.U.F.F.I.N. managed to pull off this relatively simple action without screwing it up, but honestly you're not that surprised. Literally all they had to do was slot the chip into a data port on one of your Normbots and the upgrade distributed itself among your network. You're honestly kind of impressed at the work Syndrome did on the thing, in a matter of minutes your Normbots were performing better, reacting more quickly, and thanks to the nature of the upgrade, even gained a small boost in their own intelligence.

All capes attempting to cause disturbances in Doofania will suffer a -10 malus, and all Normbots will gain +5 to all rolls.

[ ] Reorganize OWCA
70
Reorganizing OWCA isn't going to be an easy feat. They were originally designed to combat inept mad scientists who gave up after their plan was foiled, so trying to restructure them into something actually functional would take a significant amount of work. Monogram drew upon all his past experience in The Academy to work out the best way to reformat the organization. Their past experiences in eliminating organized crime showed that they didn't respond too well to people that wouldn't just give up and call it a day, so Francis has his work cut out for him. He's made some headway, but he's not finished yet. (Reward: 70/250)

It seemed a bit absurd to you when little Dennis decided to tag along with your grueling combat training. However, Temujin had apparently decided to speak with Russ on the topic of how Toons ought to fight, because he came back the next day with an entirely new form of combat designed to take advantage of a Toons' inherent resilience, slapstick, and propensity for mischief. Dennis has taken to calling it 'Kung Fool.'

Dennis' Martial has increased by 1d6+4! (5+4=9)

Max took a wonderfully relaxing vacation over to Europe to see the sights. He got to take a solo trip through France, England, and Scotland, taking lots of pictures and sampling lots of the local cuisine. All in all it was extraordinarily relaxing; he only encountered supervillain attacks a total of three times! Duff Killigan went on a rampage up in Scotland after being denied entry to a new golf course in his ancestral county, Papillon made six of his capes raid the former location of Gusteau's restaurant once he found out that it had been replaced by 'kitschy tourist fare', and Professor Nefarious completely failed to rob the Crown Jewels of England but the wolf's goons did leave chaos in his wake. Max chose to ignore all three.

[ ] Prep for college
22
Vanessa technically prepped for college... while doing the bare minimum amount of work required to do so. Instead of studying she spent all her time chatting on Doofnet, and while she did a decent job on her SATs, it wasn't anything phenomenal. Still, your little visigoth pumpkin will surely be able to get into any number of colleges once her application letters come back.

Inator Roll
A cat knocks over some trash cans in the alley.

That was rather anticlimactic.

On another note, I wonder who this could be. The only people I could see being interested in Doof's actions in LA would be Doom and his allies (of course)... and ENCOM. We know that ENCOM has a major presence in Doomtown. DEI's release of DoofOS would have angered them. It did take a major portion of their user base away.
We have very strong/clear indications that someone is taking over organized crime in LA and waging a covert war against Judge Doom... and that this 'someone' is also the ??? aware of our activities. We don't know who's the one in charge, but timing suggests it might well be one of the more powerful/talented villains from the St. Canard breakout, such as possibly Negaduck.

Could I have a citation on the part where she gets to add her Occult score to her Martial?

Thank goodness L.O.V.E.M.U.F.F.I.N rolled that 6. If they'd actually crit, on top of everything else we managed this turn, I fear what the karmic cost of all this success would be.

Could I have a citation on the part where she gets to add her Occult score to her Martial?
Semi-Phenomenal, Nearly-Cosmic: This unit may use their Occult score in place of their Martial score when in combat.
