Oh, I'd love that too, but Vee is either* in a Janna-like situation where she's moping around, using Luz's identity, just waiting for Belos to drag her back to the Boiling Isles, or she's in a Star-like situation where she's constantly on the run and would probably be even harder to find than Star due to her ability to shapeshift. And I feel like the latter of those is more likely.
*(these possibilities are not actually by any means exhaustive)
I mean, we're going to Gravesfield next turn. My hope is that we arrive in time for the events of Yesterday's Lie.

Wait for it to turn out the Gravesfield name drop means nothing and the Owl House doesn't come up at all. Which seems likely because, remember, the show isn't actually over yet.

(Which, granted, doesn't mean Occult stuff won't come up, but still.)

Alright, given the recent object lesson in limiting detail.

Inators are divided into five categories, bad, negative, neutral tomixed tradeoff, positive and great. We roll a d100 to determine which category to pull from, then pick at random. Weighted slightly good.
I'm kinda scared to ask but how many times have we rolled above 60 and gotten a good/great result?

What were the great ones?

Does this work on shapeshifters?

because we still have this lying around.
Explicitly yes, as long as they have a 'true form' of some kind to at least momentarily be forced into.

If you flung it at a third race member like banshee it would reveal her, however shed be able to transform again relatively quickly.

The power of the Fates would be enough to overcome this, so dont expect for example Puck to stay in his true form more than a fraction of a second.

This is inconsistent with the setting.

Doof hasn't spent time with her, however as she is serving as the primary administrator for the city she will have had a great deal of interaction with other people. And as she has a clear personality (simulated or not) the people she interacts with will have treater her as a person.
The whole theme of this quest is that people other than the player character have agency. Sometimes rather more agency than the players. It is not only plausible but extremely likely that CJ developed while Doof was not paying attention.

It isn't CJ's feelings I'm worried about.
What I am very worried about is Doof realising that Vanessa was the golden child while Norm was the scapegoat. And that with Vanessa off at collage he needed a new golden child. Having promoted Norm he then needed a new scapegoat to ignore.
I can think of few things that would hurt Doof more than realising he was doing to his kids what his parents did to him.
Right.

From an ic perspective, simply talking to a robot is not enough to humanize it. You have to actively treat it like a person, and thats not something all the pencil pushers that work with CJ would nessesarily do. If a majority of humans did enough consistent empathising to turn the average robot sentient, thered be thousand of sentient robots in dei, rather than the two dozen test normbots wendy used, technor, and norm.

It is, in short, hard to make a robot alive by accident.

From a narrative perspective, it would kinda suck for us to just have CJ develop offscreen while you werent looking.

And lastly, from a qm perspective, the team is... disinterested, in CJ as she is now. 'Doofenshmirtz's Princess daughter' is just... not hitting us in a creative or narrative sense.

So in short, until we're either given something or come up with something to do with CJ, you can trust the AI to just... sit in that box until an external force acts.

In addition, apropos of nothing, Missiles Red Glare is fourth of july themed. There's a character in the quest who is aware of this and if you take it in a different month he will complain about it a lot. Thats why we made it red white and blue.

You really wish we'd gone with Kinderlumper, eh? Yeah, we...We were hoping that it could play off the other two AI princesses IE Drossel and Vanellope in future. Also, huh. I was against delaying, but fair. Plus, that should be enough time for us to get Russ back in ship-shape, and sending Mr. America on a Fourth-of-July themed quest to hunt down the Declaration of Independence is....I mean...That's some synergy. It does leave a question of how to smooth things over with the feds in the meantime...Hm...Other then retracting Doofania...Maybe we could collab with Xanay on something they approve of?

I knew it! We have the house edge on inators!

Good to know.

I think waiting is fine, if we're waiting for better results by doing the quest in July, rather than wanting to get it done early to avoid potential worse results because we falsely assumed that delaying the quest to the last possible point would be bad.

@Arathnorn Is it possible to just straight up do a write in quest? Or do we need to do a write-in personal to "create" a quest?

A really easy thing to be Cj specific is to have her make friends with some of the digital characters while we haven't been paying attention.

The princess from wreck it Ralph comes to mind.

The problem is as it stands CJ isnt much of a character, and what character is there doesn't really excite us to build it further.

Hrm.

By the way, @Arathnorn given you just got yelled at a whole lot, I'd like to say thank you for spending the XP and giving us a normal failure. You didn't have to help us dodge that bullet, but you did. Thanks.

I'll hop on this conga line of tags @Arathnorn to second that thanks for spending your XP and also ask if counselors would receive a free personal action from the company retreat

One thing I'm really looking forward to now is next turns council opinions.

For all the learning ones Ludivine is gonna get shade on everything she vetos.

"Are you sure you don't want to do that? That's what you said about flubber."

"Dang it Wile! You know that's my gimmick!"

So, if we adopted the younger version of Goob, and then started educating and training him, what effect would that have on Future!Goob?

I can't wait for this to become something that we look back at and laugh instead of something that we stay salty over. And I'm not being sarcastic there.

I have no idea. Time travel is weird, so it could do a whole lot of something or nothing at all. Could just make Goob vanish in a puff of smoke!
I thought time travel here worked by Dragonball Z time travel rules, i.e. changing the past just creates a new timeline.

You mean to tell me that the Trunks Theorem of Time Travel is false?! But I based my entire I.D.I.O.T.S.-Inator around it! A lot of complex scientific thought went into that inator, let me tell you. :V

When will you learn

When will you learn

My current thoughts:

That your actions

HAVE CONSEQUENCES

Brainstorm

So next turn we have the option of the retreat. If we do that, any hero assigned to a national action or quest gets a personal action.

However considering the DoI quest should be done in July, and we don't have a Feldrake quest we can do, in order to make effective use of this we could make a write-in quest.

So let's brainstorm potential quests for write in. I'm thinking we send Technor, Mez, Juniper, and Gomez on a quest.

Even if we don't want Mez on the BO team, she would be a great asset on the quest. And in the slight chance things go very well, maybe Technor and Mez will get along well enough that they would be willing to share minion custody of Juniper and Gomez, then we could have an even more powerful BO team.

One idea I had is that we could send the quest team to Compete in San Fransokyo bot fights. It could be a way to get some money, investigate the criminal/underground element of San Fran further, and give DEI some additional street cred, all of which could be useful for future plans within San Fran and beyond, like protecting Wendy from whatever is going to happen, and finding the truth of the Zaibatsu to give Wendy additional loyalty.

@Arathnorn Is the write-in quest "Compete in San Fransokyo bot fights" something we could do in the January turn?
