Wow. This is... pretty overwhelming. Can anyone remember the last time a vote was so close to unanimous?

Pretty sure that the votes to fire LM and "hire" Gordon Ramsey to buff up BN were rather clear as well

...maybe not to that degree, though...

I think deciding on the Toffee deal was pretty much unanimous as well iirc

We need to do what we can after this to help secure Winston's kinghood.

He's probably the singular best person to be a King for the good of the world, and the sharks are going to smell blood in the water.

Gift him power armor for Christmas next turn.

Or we could absorb them. Get some very nice hero units out of it. Massively expand our holdings. Become much more important to the other kings. Get a ton of new tech and bonuses.

We can't just absorb them in one fell swoop like you're thinking. DC was 310.

Besides, I think Winston would be open to DEI investing in Olympia, especially after we help him out, so we should try to cultivate that friendship, which should mean we can invest in the company in a more measured and approved way, rather than a straight up hostile takeover, and playing nice should be a lot easier DC wise in this situation.

I wasn't thinking hostile takeover. Though the dc has probably dropped a lot due to recent events.

I was thinking more of a merger. Winston doesn't really strike me as someone that likes running things like a big company and would rather be allowed to pursue his own passion projects while someone else (like his sister) does the other stuff.

I think we could handle the business part and give him the ability to do what he wants, which seems to be superhero support in various forms. Not something we are against.

So a merger with us as the senior company in charge and his getting the support to recover from this and freedom to continue his pursuits.

Might be a chance to do a rebranding as well... Companies do that after a merger right?

Plus I really want Doof to celebrate getting to controlling (in his mind) three states of territory even if it's not THE tri-state area he wanted.

Unlike Doof, who is the CEO and majority stakeholder of DEI, Winston isn't the owner, and isn't even the CEO (yet?) Of Olympia. And even if he was appointed the next CEO, he wouldn't be at liberty to decide a merger on his own, he needs the board, and by extension the shareholders approval.

That's why we would need to prop him up, help him become the next CEO of Olympia, and have him and us both slowly grow our influence in Olympia.

That is a long process, not just a "one action and done" type thing.

I'd still rather a friendly merger but we just got the council.

Maybe with that and personal attention from doof it might be possible?

We first need to prop him up so he's in a position where he can make the decision to merge.

So we need to support him in the immediate short run, give him power armor, etc.

Winston is a businessman, and a damn good one at that. He has four star Stewardship, i'd guess he was the COO to his sister's CEO. I don't think we could pull off a full merger, but I think buying a small portion of the company so as to gain some degree of influence (a seat on the board or two) would be doable and effective. Plus, it could help us solidify the transition to him rather than someone else. At the end of the day, I do want him as a partner (hell, he's probably more trustworthy then any other King on the board right now), but I don't think a full merger is likely next turn. Still, we should help him solidify the transition to power. Who knows, if Mirage can still operate, maybe we can "loan" her to him for a couple turns to help him in the transition in exchange for an alliance? Or give him a suit of power armor to ward off any assassination attempts or...You get the idea.
