Well, there is some hints of very deeply buried awareness, like the codeword that she used during the climax to the City of Stone story arc ("ALONE"). The Weird Sisters got her to give the access code by confronting her about her various screw-ups while she was in a magically suggestible state.

However, Demona's reaction on drifting out of that state has her reverting to form.

"You tricked me! You had me under a spell. None of this was my fault! It was the humans! Always the humans!"

Even Goliath pretty much facepalms at that point (well, more like a very frustrated "You have learned nothing", but the sentiment is there).

She is probably beyond Technor's pay grade, unless he rolls a dozen natural 100s or something like that.

The first season is good, but its the second season where things really come together.

Do not, under any circumstances, watch "Season 3". Also knowm as the Goliath Chronicles. It isn't canon.

Actually, the *very first episode* of Season 3 ("Journey") is considered canon on account of still being written by Weisman.

Only after that one did he get booted out of his position and another writing team entirely took over, which caused a huge tonal shift away from the general darkness and drama towards more lighthearted slice-of-life.

They also made Xanatos a straight-up good guy instead of this very ambivalent character we know and love.

Speaking of which:

Are the anti-gargoyle hunters from that season (they already appeared in "Journey" and are therefore to be considered canon) a thing in Doofquest in some form or is the Huntsclan taking over as the resident xenophobic group of asshats?
