Don't forget to add dennis if we can! His sandwich trait can be a lifesaver in an ambush!

It doesn't sound that hard to manipulate isolationist Gargoyles into attacking Xanatos under these circumstances.
Do you not understand that Demona is insane and seeks to kill all humans? The Gargoyle clans are furthering Demona's goals to kill all humans. The only ethical choice is to eliminate them.

Edit: Besides, no Gargoyle clan is insane enough to attack New York. This is Demona using the Praying Gargoyle.

Yeah. I'm thinking Tom, Kitsune, and Hego.

Tom because it makes in-character sense for him to go looking for Marco along with Janna, and he packs a punch in Martial/Occult. Kitsune is Intrigue/Occult and we weren't specifically planning to use her for national actions, nor is she irreplaceable on same. Hego is Martial brick, gets to show off as a real goddamn American hero for a change, and we weren't critically planning for him to do anything in particular anyway.
Hego is a fragile bab that fell into drug use the exact moment we thought he'd be safe.

Meanwhile, TEMUJIN KHAN is the immaculate reincarnation of himself and also riding a dinosaur

Tom Kitsune Khan. Don't care which actions have to be taken. They are all familiar with actual warzones and if this is as bad as it sounds (this is our first Red Text Crisis moment from a genocidal scale villain) then their experience with mass combat/carnage will be important. Especially because although Janna has been training for combat it's a bit different from an actual battlefield/warzone situation. Lots more civilians, trauma and vile smells flying around.

Yeaaaah... I'm voting No of Hego on this quest. Glory Daze seems to be too likely to trigger in a negative fashion. Khan would be far more acceptable to me.

I'm super down for Hego being there. Kitsune feels right too, plus we might actually be able to collab with Xanatos or do something else with her?
Maybe on upholding the Masquerade? Do the thing with "public announcement: study on gargoyle genetics" I mentioned earlier.

Another martial action, I'm assuming this would entail just sending some minion to steal something in NYC. Hego and the government wouldn't approve, and we'd be performing super villainy on Xanatos' turf, so this is low priority, but it's an option if we need it.
How about supervillainy against Gen-u-tech? Steal some sweet, sweet, genetic research?

I support this team. They all have connections to Janna.

Keep in mind that we don't HAVE to do national actions in New York for them next turn. We can just skip them over and do stuff that makes sense for the crit turn.

It sucks to skip their personals but I'd rather focus on not getting crit fails.
Since Kitsune's personals involve sating her Goblin Fox trait, and this little excursion is almost certainly already sating it, she effectively loses nothing if we send her.

I am not familiar with Gargoyles canon beyond the bare basics. I've read through parts of a Homebrew RPG addition to World of Darkness based off of Gargoyles, read a few TV tropes based off of things like a Xanatos gambit, this quest, a few pages on the Gargoyles wiki, and nothing else that comes to mind.

Here's a link to the Praying Gargoyle Gargoyles Wiki page.

As for "no Gargoyle clan being insane enough to attack New York City", really?

If so, then I don't see why Demona seems to be trying to support the Hunter thing by making the Gargoyles look bad, as well as getting Gargoyles killed, but I can't say that I'm familiar with her.

Demona in a nutshell: What have I... what have they done?!?!?

Can't we choose what kind of supervillainy is performed? Is it flavored by the hero we send?

... Is Khan going to pillage and burn NYC if we send him there?
contrary to popular myth the Mongols did less burning of cities than some would expect. Generally they would slaughter one population center to a ludicrous degree and send some (single digits. Rest enslaved) survivors to warn the rest of the given [valley, basin, cultural region] so that the others would automatically pay large tribute voluntarily rather than be forced to siege and slaughter every population center of the area.

I would imagine Khan would pillage exactly one location and demand tribute from the rest

Hmm...ok, here's an idea: Have Khan perform super villainy. It puts him in NYC, the DC is manageable and likely to result in a critical success for us, we get some more income...our rep might take a hit, but hopefully a critical success will mitigate that. Tom could Reach Out to the Magical community, helping Janna and Tom. His Diplomacy is fairly good, even if it could be better. And finally, Kitsune or Russ on Investigate NYC Hot Spot. What do.you think?
The Probabilitinator goes off next turn so it wouldn't be a "likely" critical success. It would just be a guaranteed critical success.

Anyhow, I refuse to vote for Khan on supervillainy.

Much as I feel irresponsible about backing a choice before we crack the cipher (there could be hints there), I want to come out in support of team Queen-Tom-Sune. Their stats are good, and thematically, I'd like to read about this ragtag group of strangers who have never met each other, their only thing in common the friendship of Janna Ordonia... Well, that and torture.

I can already imagine the scene, the three of them sitting awkwardly on the ride to NYC, trying to find a topic of small talk. Eventually, they land on an interest they all share: torture. Lizzie swears by ants, Tom is adamant you can't go wrong with fire, and Kitsune is sure that illusions are the way to go. Eventually, they compromise, and settle on illusory fire ants crawling up their enemies' eyeballs. And thus is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

Seriously, though. We were promised a Marcnificent Few trait a while ago, and apocalyptic fights like these are how teams are born. Do you think there's any chance that the people we send get a trait at the end of the event if they synergize well together?

I don't want to supervillainly at all due to the reputation and loyalty/opinion issues. I especially don't want to do it in the city where Xanay owns the police after agreeing to a mutual peace/alliance.

I really think phineas and ferb should be available because its explicitly Christmas break, but I understand mechanically locking them

Eh, I can understand an easy IC reasoning. They want to take off Christmas explicitly to spend time with their family, since most US companies do have Christmas vacations for their employees. Summer works because they would still be able to work as interns.
