Tobe stared across the city street. On the other side, having blasted his way through all the heavy traps set for him, was Toffee - the only member of his army to make it that far.
"A worthy opponent."
Behind Tobe stood the Vagabond Ninja, his loyal troupe having followed him all the way to the end - but their job was not to fight Toffee. He would crash them aside like so much chaff in the wind. Their job was to keep his back safe from a flank through an alleyway, and to support Jumong's rituals.
"Our battle..."
All of the preperations had been met. The ceremony had been amazing, as had the honeymoon afterwards, but it was the blessing of the 'devil girl' that was more important here. Enhancing his ninja magics with the slightest sliver of her own allowed them... options, in the upcoming fight, and what kind of a ninja would he be if he didn't ruthlessly abuse his enemy's unknown weaknesses?
Not a very good one, surely. And Tobe was a good ninja.
"WILL BE LEGENDARY! Jing Jing, assume the position!"
"Yes!"
The two of them reached out, one hand grasping the others', the other hand pointed towards Toffee. "These hands of ours are burning red!"
Tobe's hand turned into a fist. "Their loud roars tell us..."
"...to grasp happiness!" Jing Jing's hand mirrored his.
Toffee looked distinctly unamused. "...Is this in aid of something?"
The two twirled around each other, ignoring Toffee for a second, and posed with their hands overlaping. "Erupting..."
Toffee shrugged. "Well, if that's all..."
They reached back as the glowing blue and yellow glows of two kinds of magic flowed between their hands. "Magic Finger!"
Toffee froze, only for an instant, at the site of yet uncorrupted Mewni magic flowed and bloomed between their hands, slowly becoming tinted red in the mix. "Wait a minute, no!"
"Seki!" "Ha!"
Toffee began to run, as the energy in their hands reached a peak.
"Love Love!"

Tobe and Jing Jing's hands, growing red with love, pushed forward, and a massive glowing ball of energy shot out, streaking towards Toffee. His eyes widened for just a moment as the visage of the true Mewnian Queen flew towards him, and then it passed through - the energy ball shot straight through him, burning his entire body oily black and leaving a hole in the middle of him in the shape of a heart. He froze in place, a pile of sludge that only barely resembled his former self.
Tobe smirked, lifting up Jing Jing into a bridal carry as they both looked deep into the heart shaped hole. "Now, our true journey begins!"
Toffee, slowly collapsing, shook. "No... you don't get to make the plans... I do..." He reached out with his hand. "Only I know how this turns out!"
"Have a sandwich!"

I agree @Lab_Accident we should build the portal to Tom's Hell Dimension in the bowels beneath the legally distinct square of land we own in Middleton. This is a great idea. Nobody will ever know! Hey, planmakers. Speaking of Juniper: Technor invited himself in as a bonus the last time we critted a Recruit Supervillains action. Do we want to put Technor instead of Mirage on Recruit Supervillains next turn, to bait bonus-recruiting his former partner and Karaoke buddy Juniper? He rolls effective 23 Diplomacy, while Mirage rolls 24, so it's no big loss.

...you know, the thread wasn't impressed with Tobe, at first. And understandably so! Until very recently (this latest interlude, as a matter of fact), his statline and traits weren't exactly...stellar? Above average in some areas, sure, but nothing that we didn't already have.
But he's dropped into our lives, nevertheless. As though from the sky. And in doing so, he's managed to worm his way into likability, and, dare I say it, competence. I suppose that's the ninja tricksiness again, scaling the walls of our metaphorical fortress to land in our awareness.
And he accomplished it through the power of ninja magic, and, more notably, the power of romantic affection, despite what Doofenschmirtz and Jumba might have had to say about the concept.

This is unironically why quests are my favourite type of fanfiction. Sometimes someone completely unexpected gets to become a fan favourite.
If this was a fanfic Vanessa, Phineas and Ferb would be major players while Tobe, Janna and Lizzy would be write off extras. The first would be fun sure but this is far more beautiful.
