The problem with the sword is that megalomania issue, especially since we only have people who we don't want that issue able to use it. I don't want crazed ninjas or ancient mongol warlord going after all. The key is one of the nice stuff, because its dimensional stuff, which might be useful on not just another-dimensionanitor, but also stuff that could lead to being able to strength the dimensional walls, aka being able to reinforce the seal on Bill Cipher.

Sure, the scroll and the book would be nice, but there is a better book coming up and we will need a lot of money to outbid Horvath.
We have at least a couple units who could probably pull a McGucket on the sword (IE you can't make someone a megalomaniac if they ALREADY ARE). Technor could probably wreck havoc with it. Especially with his need for ENERGY.

[ ] Plan: Knowledge is Power
- [ ] 7 for the Scroll of Jo-Lan
- [ ] 5 for the Mad Mojo Cookbook

We don't need the key, and we'll need a fairly higher bid for the Scroll since more people are interested in it.

Do not get the Ring or the Sword. The red heads are after them and if they truly are Demona then we want them waste money on it to not get the third turn auction item.

The only thing interesting to me is the Cookbook, the Scrolls, and the Key.

The Key is a given at this point as Xanatos had given it to us and the only other one interested in it backs doesn't seem to be able to bid it highly.

We should return the favor to Xanatos though. He is interested in both the Cookbook and the Scrolls. So buying only one of them should let us paying him back for the Key and lowering his money for the third turn.

I want at least 18 points remaining in our pockets so that we can buy 2 of third turn item with one worth 10 points and the other 8.

Based on all of those reasoning. This is what I suggested.

[ ] Plan: Auction Courtesy
-[ ] Mad Mojo Cookbook
- -[ ] 4 Points
-[ ] Crystal Key
- -[ ] 4 Points

The Cookbook seems the least Xanatos is interested in, and more usefull to us as it had relations to Ninjutsu so maybe Tobe can use them, and being a Cookbook may offer recipe to our potion making.

The Scrolls will only increase power and being a seal breaker of which we don't have many Hero units that has power than can be sealed. Not much use to us.

The key will lower the DC of our dimensional tech. Enough said.

Hmmmm, that book might be useful....

.... Is it bad that my first thought is to go to Hawaii again and recruit david to use it?

Scroll, Key and Sword 27 points with 4 points cost minimum next round is 7 minimum. Xanados seems to be more interested in the book we could even trade for later Scroll would be great for our ninja and Khan since he dose have a stat for it. Key is a must have for dimension but only one person is interested in it so low bit. Sword would be nice but not needed.
Scroll 5
Key 4-6
Sword 4
13-15 which leave us with 14 to 12 remaining for a single item or 2.
If we only focused on the key and scroll it would cost us 11 to 9 which leave us with 18 to 16 point for next round.

.....most of our martials are highly phys based, and this thing could push Tobe and co into an actual physical threat. we need those scrolls.

I think we should get both the cookbook and the Scrolls since we have quite a deficiency in magical knowledge of all kinds, and anything would be helpful to our fledgling efforts. I see how the Sword can be useful if we send Technor on a Quest, but I don't think it will enhance him on National Actions since our energy will be sued the same way. So 4 on the Cookbook and Scroll, 5 on the Key which should be or most important get. It should leave us with 14 for the final round. Of course, since the minimum bid for round 3 is 7, if we get 3 items here we will likely only be able to get 1 the next round thanks to that. 15 is enough for a minimum bid and another one of 8 on the next round, which is unlikely to secure us 2 items. Given this I think we should bid higher here and focus our efforts on the Encantus next round. So:

[ ] Plan Acquire Knowledge
-[ ] Cookbook 5
-[ ] Jo-Lan 5
-[ ] Crystal key 6

Moreover, I think any plan that wants to bid twice next round should only get 2 items here, which seems obvious enough but a good reminder while we are in the middle of shiny-lust.

Mad Mojo Cookbook

There's a vague, general interest in the item. Beside you, you notice Xanatos studying the item critically. You doubt he'd be particularly put out if you managed to snag it, but it looks like he's at least considering the item simply because it likely contains spells he's never seen before.
Xanatos dose seem to be more interested in the book then the scroll.

If we do go for the sword, it seems like the easiest way to avoid it inducing megalomania would be either

1) swap it around between units each turn, so no one undergoes prolonged exposure
2) let Technor keep it; he's already a supervillain so it won't do anything :V

I think for any plans that don't go for the key we put in a section letting Xanatos know we aren't going to go for it.

He expressed interest before and it would be nice to let him know so he could go for it again.

Also, terrible thought. What if Xanatos really has his heart set on the magic book we want. That would SUCK.

JoLin let's us upgrade our Martial heroes Martial

crystal makes the Other dimension Inator much easier

we need to save money for next round

...so about that key. Couldn't it be used to say, send Bill to another dimension if you could somehow force him through the portal?

Xanatos is not a "heart" person. I doubt you'll offend him by going for one of the items he was interested in. He did bring you here, after all.

Okay, let's take closer look here:
Could theoretically be useful for a one time boost to an important magic ritual and the only other people interested in it probably can't afford to bid much
Could be useful for a variety of reasons, Feldrake recognises it, Tobe would love it, it might help with any Quests we go on in the Pacific and more magic is always good

While there's a general interest the only person we'd seemingly need to outbid is Xanatos himself who while interested isn't overly so
A ring that turns anyone that reads it's inscription out loud into a dog

Not sure how useful it would be and we'd have to outbid Horvath and the mystery woman
Basically the same situation as the cookbook
Sword of Enlightenment
A magic draining sword could be very useful but we'd have to outbid both of the mystery redheads and potentially someone else we didn't notice
Extremely useful and would at the very least minimise how vital Dimensional Scissors are and it looks like our only competition would be Monty Hall but he seemingly doesn't have the authority to spend as much money as he might like

Let's save our money for the final round. If the items now are cool, how cool do you think the best ones will be?

Crystal Key: we can probably combine this with our dimension inator

Sword of Enlightenment: we can use this one as a power source

Scrolls of Jo-Lan: this would just be helpful and we can have ganga's Kong and the ninjas and PMC know it

Ring of the Borgias: I see no use for this one

Wailing Star: same as the ring

Mad Mojo Cookbook: we already have a spell book that we have not finished reading its best just to let someone else have it
