Brockton's Celestial Forge (Worm/Jumpchain)

About the deal with the "Enigmatic Artificer".

He can always say that the identification thing was because some contractors informed him that certain people were faking his name and scaming them out of their money.

Since Apeiron is known to hold contracts in high regard it will be obvious to the masses as of why he decided to fuck with everyones minds so it doesnt happen again.

The public will think he is pissed at people sullying his name and ruining his juicy work contracts. The capes in the know will think it is a cover and power play for the summit. The gang and us will know the truth and that his forge is f*cking with him again.
Nah, it's better if he keeps his mouth shut esp since everybody 'knows' why he did it. Let everybody have their own conclusions and every reason is tailor made for the person with no effort on his part.

But not for me. I could see the structure of how digistruct worked, the enforcement of a waveform across the resolution of the universe, information expressed on the Planck scale, but manifested as a physically present and persistent effect. The union of matter and energy, or matter and information, how they could basically be the same thing, allowing anything to be scanned, stored, or recreated.
Not some hologram, or robot, or piece of technology aping at power. A fundamental expression of reality, the enforcement of a waveform across the resolution of the universe. The very fabric of reality expressed as data and bending to his control.
any connection? I know that Leet was inspired by Sleeper's power but Wildbow didn't really say what the power was.

The situation with May, who wasn't really May anymore, was complicated.
Is the shard being influenced by March's emotions or is March completely gone and the shard is emulating how to be human not perfectly?

For what I understand the Shard downloaded a simulacrum of March's personality on her half-shard body, the problem is that said "personality" is bugged as hell, have the conection issues you mentioned, and is based of her Cape persona, not her actual personality.
Is the shard being influenced by March's emotions or is March completely gone and the shard is emulating how to be human not perfectly?
Her mind is entirely on her shard at this point which is how she's piloting her body.
The people who guessed 'zombie March' were closest to the truth. March uses her explosion version of sting on a call gem, which is 25 times larger than a call bead and exponentially more powerful. Call gems are significant links to shard space, and sting excels in punching through dimension. Combined they can create a temporary portal from the physical world to shard space. One of the canon features of shard space, or the Firmament, is that it can restore injured parahumans instantly from the data stored in their shards. In addition to numerous other problems that are caused when a portal to shard space opens, it created enough of a link to somewhat restore March's body. The problem being that the restoration is being done at a distance through a improvised portal. So not only is the healing wrong, but you have problems with the connection. So you have 'zombie March' being remote piloted through the mind stored in her shard with a bad connection. To all the world this is basically severe brain damage and a body that been 'healed' to a passenger's rough guess of what a human should be.

There's a element of monkey paw wishes here, with March getting her shard space 'access', but with serious consequences to her functionality. She still has powers and would be something of a threat in person (though probably not to Joe), but she's not going to be coordinating anyone. Too removed from humanity to relate properly. Even if the ABB still had a slave army she wouldn't be able to do anything with them, and any manipulation of other capes is pretty much off the table.

Sleeper's power appeared in Wards, Sleeper using it to (MAJOR SPOILER)Kill the Simurgh. You can find details on the Wiki page.

Basically her shard "fixed" her like how you would fix a car from using it's blueprints. Only in this case the damage was so severe that you end up using parts from a junkyard, lost the original blueprint and had to use glue/solder parts together to make the car viable. Resulting in a janky but still technically runnable vehicle that's nowhere near the original.

Does every gang and their grandma have a freaking Annihilation cape now? It seems like everyone is getting their hands on the one thing that can actually hurt Apeiron these days... Hopefully that new method he whipped up will actually work and completely no-sell any attempts, like he thinks it will.

I mean, all of these annihilator capes are canon, and all of them either lived in Brockton Bay (Scrub) or operated in the Bay at some point (Flechette, March) or were within a few hours travel of the Bay (Damsel). So it's not unrealistic that they'd be present.

And talking about that, just how effective would Scrub be against Azurite Silverback Gorilla anyway? As far I understand his power is less pew pew laser and more portal cut, right? Would it still affect the materials of Manganese Lemur's armor?

Actual pretty effective, wildbow states that his power was one of the few that could open a portal to scions proper body.

It also operates on dimensional mechanics so Joe's immunity to transmutation won't apply.

But that's if he gets hit, Joe has prepared a set up so that he is never in a situation where he can be caught unaware again.

Oh, neat! Didn't know that last bit, I thought only Sting could reach his main body.

Guess Roentgenium Tarsier will have to just follow Mr. Piccolo's maxim and just learn how to DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOODGE!

Damsel is also in the same category, though Joe is partily to some of her power, {her power is basically 3 to 5 anaihlator powers wrapped together} but if he gets a piece of the material byproduct from her power he will be completely immune

Even if Apeiron manages to use something to render himself immune to the "portal cut" aspect (and, there are materials in the Forge that will permit that, especially when combined with Fashion), it doesn't render him immune to the "portal" aspect; rather than sending Apeiron's head to another dimension to kill him, Scrub could just send Apeiron to another dimension in his entirety, and leave him to figure a way to work his way back.

Especially since, if the Key is in the Workshop Door to allow his AIs WiFi access, it might not count as "lost or stolen", so it won't return to him, meaning he'll have (slightly) limited resources to work with. And returning would mean Dimensional Tech, which is pretty much an automatic Kill Order, after Professor Haywire's various misadventures…

Joe has access to dimension items, Lord confirmed that Joe got Daedalus student he could build alt dimensional item, also would still be able to get his workshop

The Workshop is Fiat-Backed as not being accessible without either his key or another Fiat-Backed method of dimensional access that overrides that restriction (Deadalus' Student might qualify there, but the examples LR used previously explicitly mentioned Dimensional Access in their Forge Perk descriptions). And, if his Key is on Earth Bet, in a door lock, then it might not return to him on Earth not-Bet, because it is neither lost nor stolen — and, since no one else can remove it from the lock, it effectively can't be lost or stolen.

As for Joe already having the ability to produce Dimensional Tech: the PRT don't know that yet, so won't have taken it into account. Glory Girl might think that he does, after March's vandalism, but that wasn't actually a dimensional portal. Joe might not even realise yet that he can do such a thing. However, returning from another Earth using tech that he built himself would pretty obviously indicate to the authorities that he had such capabilities.

At which point, Cauldron would panic hard, about which of their secret bases he'll find, or what skeletons he'll drag out of their closets.

I still think that Joe cannot be locked outside the Workshop even without his Workshop Key. I think by fiat his Workshop Key will somehow be with Joe even if something happens to his key and surrondings.

Yes this is how it works, as per the very first chapter. He cannot lose access to his key forever.

It was the first thing I built, if I could count as the person who built it. There were two kinds of things I could make with my powers. Things made out of normal material, and things like this. I couldn't recreate the key if my life depended on it, but that doesn't matter because it will always exist. I've essentially made it a universal constant that I will always have this key. Destroyed, lost, or just separated and it will turn up in a few minutes. That effect, and what it could accomplish was enough that if I didn't know the full scope of my powers I probably would have assumed the key and what it could do was everything. Then it would be off to the PRT to let them try to figure out how to brand me as a door based superhero.

Here's the actual entry on the key:
Access Key (Personal Reality) Free:
This is a special key which lets you access your Personal Reality and its contents.
When inserted into any lock on any door, the door opens to reveal a gateway into your Reality at a predetermined location within it. You are the only person who can take the key from the lock, the gateway remains open as long as the key is in the lock, and if key is ever lost or stolen you will find it in your pocket a few minutes later. You cannot close the door as long as you are inside the Personal Reality.
If we take that literally, that means he won't be able to enter the Workshop unless having the key keep a door open in a dimension you can't easily access counts as it being lost or stolen. Which might just depend on how he wants to perceive it. If he did get it back, that would mean that the door closed as the key's no longer keeping it open. That would also cause him to lose a potentially simple way to get back to Earth Bet, as now he would need to shift through an obscene number of dimensions to find Earth Bet. Or just follow the energy signature left behind by the power that left him there, depending on how it works.

3) Meet the real boss: Apeiron has utilized misdirection and false leads in the past. Having a new mysterious boss appear (in addition to the other assorted team members) could provide Apeiron with additional excuses/opportunities.
I'm having Animaniacs flashbacks. This could be a Godpigeon bit.
Tybalt: "Meow."
Apeiron: Tybalt says, "When I say jump, you jump, and if you're too stupid to know how high without me telling you, that's your problem."

DoD having an episode of EEEEEEEEEEEVIIIIIIIIIIIILLLLLLL
This made me have a weird thought.

From what I understand, a large part of her erratic behavior is her desperately trying to disguise how awkward and clumsy she is. This lead to me connecting this to over the top tsundere behavior. One of those ones who's easily embarrassed and reacts with extreme violence.

Now here's where it gets stupid.

She finds herself unwillingly impressed with Joe and at a point where she has everyone's attention and she's supposed to concentrate on looking scary she blurts out "I want your babies!" Mortified she blows up her sitting area and leaves a DoD shaped hole in the wall where she bolted.

Are people just calling Joe, iron ape to stop calling him Apeiron, The Enigmatic Artificer. If they are I want that to be in story as well it would be funny people would just stop calling him Apeiron, The Enigmatic Artificer and call him ape iron or metal monkey.

Some Quick Alchemical Restructuring (Ziggrrauglurr)
When did we collectively decided to stop calling him Apeiron, The Enigmatic Artificer, and use a different moniker every time he is mentioned?... I love it!

The most honest relationship between a shard and a host, "Fuck you, give power for Data"

I started reading a quest the other day with this theme "A Shard's quest for Data!" , except the relationship is the exact oposite.

2) Supernatural: the wind changes direction, lights start flickering and bursting, the roof starts rattling, the door bursts open,... then the gathered villains blink and realize that Apeiron and his TEAM are already in the bar and comfortably seated. Apeiron could even sigh and point at one of his allies and claim that they are always overly dramatic.

5) The Master's Touch: The meet-up at Somer's Rock seems to be expanding rapidly beyond canon's participants. Apeiron might need to enlarge and modify the bar in order to accommodate the additional attendees... incidentally transforming a dingy pub into the world's greatest bar. A speakeasy theme seems appropriate.

What Monohierro, El Artífice Enigmático has to do is combine those 2. I'm imagining a scene where they are about to enter Somer's Rock and suddenly Garment communicates that under NO circumstances she will accept entering such a decrepit place, that her designs entering that "establishment" is a total affront to her friendship, and since Joe really wanted to enter at precisely seven o' clock he realizes it will be faster to humor her than convince her. So he pops some quick alchemical restructuring, that coupled with all the million powers he has turns the 'shitty dive bar' into a masterpiece of alcoholic purveyance.

Or to make a quick and dirty omake, from the POV of the villains inside:

His clock marked 6:59:55.
"In a few seconds someone would make a power play, inevitably someone would try to arrive on the exact second. There was always a kind of fool that tries to make an statement with that kind of entrance, specially with a meeting with so many important ramifications as this one" contemplated Max Anders while staring at the door with a fake air of disinterest.

6:59:58 informed the numbers on the digital clock over the front door and just a moment before a new thought could begin to form, a red crisscrossing electricity seemed to flow from the walls, moving with a speed that didn't allow for any kind of response. In less than half a second the crimson death lightning had surrounded the whole building, clearly signaling the end of all things for those within it.
And before anyone had the time to act, it was gone.
At the same moment a strong rush of air dramatically forced open the ornate, beautifully crafted door (what?), the soft tranquil light from the chandeliers (WHAT!?) and exquisite wall mountings (WHEN?) impeccably illuminated the figure at the door, just as the unfathomably ancient and detailed wall mounted timepiece (WHY?) marked seven deep soul crushing bells, the figure gave one step in the astounded silence, adopting an imposing and carefree attitude that spoke of untold power and infinite menace (ohgod) .

- "Oh. Good. I was afraid I was running late."

The Enigmatic Artificer had arrived.

Wait, when was it mentioned that the Shard is influencing Uber beyond the "Seschen range" thing?

So... Apeiron is Brockton Bay's F.O.E., instead?
(For anyone who doesn't want to click that link, or this one... A F.O.E. is a Fuzzy Orange Enemy who Fucks Over Everyone. They show up and wreck everything by being overpowered for where they're encountered. And they don't care about the rules of how and where you normally encounter things.)

More like an Outside Context Problem for me... Macaco de Ferro is the literal definition of it
