Again, what part of two front war that's liable to escalate indicates we can afford to burn our already damaged economy and important actions away right now?
The fact that it doesn't burn any of our economy at all?

My plan lets the full +4 econ from the Baby Boom stay along with a +1 econ next turn from the settlement.
Also the provinces can't spend all 3 actions on the megaproject so they'll likely do some Expand Econ, giving us even more boost.

megaproject support = when lacking resources to do megaproject, create resources needed to do megaproject

2 province mains = 3 province secondaries, leaving 1
this 1 will probably be study stars

0 econ gain from provinces

Yes, let us not start another megaproject in middle of this mess

[X] [Value] Do not spread
[X] [Main] Restore Order

[X] [Secondary] New Settlement - South-Eastern Redhills

Raise our Stability in preparation to incoming refugees, either from the South or East. New Settlement to avoid losing Baby Boom. The provinces will do expand econ and we'll get a free midturn policy switch.

We only have one. The other became a Colony.
No, we have two.
Stallion Tribes (March) - Eliminates raids from the north and mitigates raids from the east, can provide military advances and supports the Western Wall
Hatriver (March) - Eliminates raids from the south-east, can provide military advances

I am just so fucking happy South west + Smaller recruitment didn't win..
I'm a bit sad that we didn't know about the econ cost for the smaller recruitment. The lack of econ cost was what swayed me to it in the end, because I was hoping to be able to build some chariots to counter the nomads. Ah well, no use crying over spilled milk.

Oh...[Secondary] study actions have completely refunded mysticism now. [Main] black birds/carrion eaters also now only cost 1 econ.

Edit: Also, any mysticism per turn drain from a mega project is refunded 1 point per action...

We should found a March next turn. Obviously a single march (and adjacent colony) wasn't enough to handle a nomad war, but maybe two will be enough. At worst, it'll be easier to handle future nomad wars. It'll also remove enough Martial that we can do Double Main Expand Warriors the turn after without getting into dangerous levels of Martial.
Why do you guys want citizen soldiers? How would citizen soldiers - for whom it's a mark of pride to be able to afford to buy their own war equipment - even work for the Ymaryn?

[X] [Value] Spread value (+Hero Generation)

The threads insistence that we have an egalitarian, meritocratic society completely free of corruption in whatever-thousand BCE amuses me sometimes.

The idea that it strongly encourages nepotism is just speculation. I mean, I'm sure it will some, but the strongly hasn't been confirmed by Word of God, probably deliberately, since there's not even a ??? Or 'other effects' in the option.

And really, it'll be a net good. It'll inspire people to try to achieve more since it'll make their descendents honor them, and at the same time give them a kick in the ass to live up to the standards of their ancestors.

Almost every major successful culture had some form of ancestor veneration. We shouldn't be so arrogant as to presume that the practice/norm is counterproductive, especially in a premodern context.

What makes you think it's nepotism, it's far more likely to be cultural pride, as in pride in the history of the people in general as well as families. And such a proto nationalistic phenomenon is highly useful, as it can make a populace endure and strive far above the norm, for bringing shame to the past glories is worse than death.

Bap a dee doo. Hmm huummm.

So many options!

I'll go with:

[x] [Value] Do not spread
[X] [Main] New Trails
[X] [Secondary] Enforce Justice
[X] [Secondary] Expand Economy

Sorry awesome hero + value, but you go bye bye. I may be convinced otherwise. I think maximillian made a good point.

New Trails is -1 Econ for +1 Expansion and +1 Cent and Diplo, and fixes part of our trail problem.
Enforce is a guaranteed +1 Stability and 1-3 Cent. 1 is more likely, and 3 is very unlikely due to walls we have. May switch to RoO if need be.
Expan Econ is +2 Econ for -2 Expansion.

Net we should be at Econ 1 [-1-1+2+4] = Econ 5 and Expansion 9 [+1+1-6] = Expanion 5. I am fine with this.

The provinces will only do 1 main, since they never spend a stat to 0. That leaves 3 secondaries, 1 of which is Study Stars. The rest are stuck doing a [Main] Expand Econ.

That mark of pride is in other civs, not in ours. As for why we want them, I have no idea, all I know is that legionaries are cool and they weren't hereditary.

[X] [Value] Do Not Spread
[X] [Main] Proclaim Glory
[X] [Secondary] Restore Order
[X] [Secondary] Change Policy - Balanced

Diplomacy 9 [+4]
Economy 1 [-1+4]
Econ Expansion 9 [+1-4]
Martial 9 (+1) {9}
currently @ this

Econ Expansion = 6 - 4 = 2 from Law'd Econ Expansion. Balanced might allow them to take martial actions on our behalf, idk. They might expand if they're aware it's an issue, as that both gives us econ and increases econ slots. Regrettably, they might also just eat up econ with another secondary econ expansion. @Academia Nut Is this likely?

Stability likely to hit 1, at worst hits 0. Legitimacy stays the same. 1 Econ is consumed.

Cultural
Art 4
Mysticism 6 [+1]
Prestige 20

The provinces will only do 1 main, since they never spend a stat to 0. That leaves 3 secondaries, 1 of which is Study Stars. The rest are stuck doing a [Main] Expand Econ.
They'll be spending it to 1 since there's an incoming mysticism, would they not?

Going for this at the moment may switch later.

Provinces... You need to change policy or else get a 4x Expand Economy for +8 econ and -8 slots. Which is problematic.
Whoops. Forgot!
