Just a thought but if we complete the garden and the dam without kicks and without any stab hitting actions next mid turn we would be at stability 5

That would require an action, and I'll be honest, if we have the econ for it and the action free, I want More Boats to start reconnecting with our March.
True. We probably won't have an action free next turn unless the garden finishes in a single half turn. And if an action becomes free I would rather do Southshore so the newly coherent HK can't take it from us.

I believe stability caps at legitimacy, which caps at 3.

Come on guys, go for the Carrion Eaters. We get a synergy bonus from the study health and engrain them in our culture, which is just wicked cool. With our backlog of stuff we're never going to vote for that on our own, but getting field surgeons fully engrained into our culture would make our losses from fighting the Nomads even less!

Yeah, the one thing I can think of is if we can get the Gardens done in 2-3 turns at the start of next turn, we can probably let our provinces finish that.

@Academia Nut If our provinces are already working on a megaproject, do we have to use that in our main actions to get them to continue to work on it? And if they work on it and we don't, does that still trigger the 'concentrated effort' from symphony?

With megaproject support already up, yes, you could pass the megaproject over to the provinces, although you wouldn't get the concentrated effort possibilities.

The garden is likely to be able to be finished in a single turn of dedicated action. So the turn after we take Southshore we could probably do a Main More Boats, and trade missions to either HK & TH or MW & SHP. Aka the kings-at-war choice or the actually-uses-the-boats choice. Remember that the SHP are like to provide opium, too.

I really wanted Carrion Eaters, but the lure of 3 stability is too much.

I'm going we can main Southshore and the Mine this turn. Now doubt the latter would help with the next two Megaprojects, and we all want the former.

Of course it's almost pointless to make long term plans in this quest since we pretty much always have to spend each turn reacting to new events.

@Academia Nut can you confirm if the baby boom is over, or weakening, or if something else ate our econ?
(7 econ - 4x megaproject - 1 study health + 1 Divine Stewards + (at least) 1 saltern initial bonus + 3 baby boom = 7, we have 6, and that was from you correcting your math so i'm assuming its something i'm missing/dont know about, rather than a math error)

Yeah, I don't mind shifting into teching up/boats/trails after next turn- but we absolutely have to grab Southshore sooner rather than later and we can sure as hell afford to grab it at this point.

Noooo we might hit +4 stability and then we'll be dead, or worse, Californian.

Edit: I understand the appeal of the mine but want us to do the trade missions and/or a salt gift for the diplo + opium.

I'm assuming it actually took 5 actions for the megaproject, which we got as a bonus from symphony

We'd make a great Switzerland.

Or I am now imagining us as a bartender while the Yakuza and Mob meet:

"You will come in here and negotiate peace. Any funny business and ya'll be out on your ear and ma boyz here will teach you some new words for pain." The tall twenty something tattooed Welsh barlady glances around. Putting her smoke aside she pulls up a compound bow and some arrows.

She raises an eyebrow. "Are we clear?"

Everyone in the bar nods vigorously.
...that doesn't sound at all like Welsh. I am really hoping you aren't under the impression it sounds like a hackney Cockney accent.

Please go listen to Welsh clips.

@Abby Normal

You messed up and called him AN in your Unusual Micheal post.

By the way you also totally missed out on an awesome negaverse name for yourself: Ted Strange

:3
In my defense, do you have any idea just how much of a habit it is for me to ask AN questions at this point? :p And true, but Unusual Michael was the name i used back during the Amber Age nega-SV omakes, so i figured i'd stick with it

I love how the People actually have one of the creepiest and stranger pantheons from an outside perspective. They have a three-aspected trickster god that is incredibly focused upon in their religion, creepy primordial hermaphroditic twins, and the original sin- everyone else has various expies (or at least parallels)while we're stuck with a creepy multi-faceted god (one facet of which is literally referred to as 'the Devourer') that vaguely reminds me of Shiva we literally call 'The Spider-Eyed Crow'.

Like what the fuck. That's up there with 'the Drowned God' in terms of ominousness.
