Here's what I'm thinking:
[X] Snub him (Small chance of -1 Stability)
[X] Stop trading with both (-4 Diplomacy)
[X] We will find land for you to settle (-1 Stability, +2 Econ)

Thanks to LoO+Baby Boom, we'll have the econ available for another [Main] Grand Sacrifice next turn, which will get us back to the same spot we were planning on being before this mini-turn but 4 diplo down and with the megaproject completed. We can't risk the war, and we've got the diplomacy to spare. It's a lot of wasted action-equivalents, but a lot less than a war would bring.

@Academia Nut
Is the Economy value correct?
We were at 4(+1) last turn.
We lost 3 to the action, but gained (+1) from stored, +2 to Baby Boom, and +1 from Redshore. (And got a (+1) from Northshore)
Shouldn't we still be at 4(+1)?
We lost 1 econ to the crisis

Simply because I want to at least see if the Law solves the issue(or at least mitigates it) before giving up

[X] Elect Cwriid heir (+1 Stability, Crisis Ends on his terms)
[X] Stop trading with the Highlanders (-3 Diplomacy, small chance of the Highlanders declaring war)
[X] We will find land for you to settle (-1 Stability, +2 Econ)

I will at least wait a bit out of attempt to encourage waiting in the future. I'd be happy if others did the same?

Voting from the hip is pretty deadly in general and a habit we should try to break. AN isn't going to help us there, we need self discipline.

The way I see it, we either elect the Old Horse's Ass or go all in and suppress. Snubbing comes with too great a risk of him seceding anyway.
The flavor text says nothing about him seceding. All it says is that there is a small chance of a stability loss. Now, if we suppress, THAT could cause him seceding and lead to a civil war. We should definitely not go with that option.

So you like hereditary land ownership then? Because that's what he wants

Well yeah, that's the point. Either everyone have land or only the powerful have land. Having land really is the only way to built a stable civilization where everyone contributes.

Can you imagine another civ wondered by and whisper to our people that they can own land if the corrupt government is brought down? Like the various rebellion and revolution throughout our RL history?

Why are people voting for the option that most likely results in both the HK and TH declaring war against us?

Edit: Also, let's dissect our hero and see what specific nomad trait he picked up. It kinda looks like Family Ties or Word is Bond.

If we take him as king and ally with the TH, it'll most likely boost diplo relations with them specifically and make it easier to diplo annex the TH in the future (if we focus hard on it).

Not sure about the other options but I really don't want familial inheritance to be codified into law since it will then become tradition.

It would mean that the province up in the north is diverging.

Because frankly the Highlanders declaring war might be a *good* thing at this point, i think--having an outside enemy declare war on us should help shore up loyalty...also snubbing the TH would just piss Cwriid and his supporters off even more

If we elect the hero, will the law mega project disappear?

It will codify the laws he brings in, but will not end it.

Is there any chance you can tell us whether the "restore stability" text on the crisis dialogue would be green right now, with our 1 stability, since we've technically reached that stability even if we'll have lost it by the time the next main turn pops up?

It's stability?

Is there any chance of Old Stallion succeeding the kingship at all if we simply snub him?

He probably won't be in the running next turn if you deliberately keep him out, but he might still be, and one of his heirs probably will be.

We can't afford a war right now. We also have 9 diplomacy. I feel like we need to go with [] Stop trading with both (-4 Diplomacy). Although it honestly sucks I think we can't take even a small chance of war, and we do have plenty of diplomacy to take the hit.

Is there any way to elect him and not have him destroy the Law megaproject?
By not electing him as king, but something else instead. I recommend something with lot's of bureaucracy. Or warchief.

But seriously, he's too stupid to be king. I don't want king Robbert as leader. Don't you people remember what he did in Game of Thrones?

I have no idea why we want to go to war so much.
