I think SC is potentially great for Noburi because non-bloodline clones might let him spend his chakra 3x more efficiently, and he then has enough CP to spam SC/jutsu/boost for combat, turning him into a complete combat madhouse.
Also, multithreded research.
If he can learn it, it's a clear win.

OtOH, investing in FOOM will take actual years to break even, and we don't have half that kinda time.
I'd rather he use that time to do cool medical research, crack sage mode, get sweet jounin combat stats, ect.

We'll get useful results much sooner that way, and Noburi will "just" have to rely on our Time Rune runechain to massively outpace the normies for his long-term growth.

Also, We have all the lore needed to experiment with tranfusing nature chakra to get sage mode, we just need human test subjects to check our assumptions and calibrate dosege.

To get ninja, we roll over a Jashinist temple or something to also get lore, test Mari's genjutsu vs Jashin Bullshit, and ethically(?) source our chakra donors/test subjects.

Note that the Force Dome+Iron Earth runes are not a complete counter to Akatsuki intrusion. Itachi has the same multi-person teleport jutsu we saw Conjura use in the Dragon war, and can teleport Konan/Deidara inside the dome.
Don't get me wrong, it's much better than nothing(wastes Itachi's CP, gives Deidara less airspace to work with, stops en-mass conventional invasion from diverting forces, ect).
But what we really want to counter them is to (additionally) invent a large no-explosions field. Limit the maximum pressure that can travel through air or whatever. I believe Orochimaru even called out "a sufficiently general way to nullify explosives" as a good countermeasure in his dossiers.

Please put a prep day towards an explosives-don't-work rune.

I love me dramatic speeches, but letting our resolve 20 compatriots in on a secret that, if leaked, will destroy all of leaf, potentially including tens of thousands of civilians, doesn't seem worth it to me.

Plus nobody's questioning that we can go back if we win. We've done crazy shit before, and Mari instantly pointed out that we could get the mission retroactively approved as a black op and repatriate ourselves, without knowing that it was already a genuine black op.
We'll be fine. The upside is redundant and the risks are huge. We don't need to break OPSEC here.

(also, isn't the next one a Vel update? Save the speeches for EJ)

I'm pretty sure we've never had an Ami PoV interlude and I suspect it would contain some major spoilers about what the inside of her mind looks like.

We had a PoV of her "reuniting" with Kei in a way designed to keep her detached from both Ami and the Mori clan.
Way back in Chunin exams. Possibly before Hazo ever met her?

If Leaf isn't there to come back to, we'll re-found it. Team Uplift has more practice at building Hidden Villages from scratch than probably anybody else alive (though admittedly the first few partial successes were more about knowing exactly when to make like a tree Girl Genius ), and any greater experts without that "alive" caveat can get in line behind Jiraya and Akane as part of our recruitment queue.

Can we have the prep day be on Iron Earth Dome instead of Iron Earth? I think it might make it significantly easier to have the effect only apply to a spherical shell rather than the whole sphere, and even if it's harder it means we could do our own digging projects inside (which might be critical if we want to e.g. bury runes as a trap for Akatsuki). Also, thinking about it, it feels like there might be a risk that Iron Earth would apply to runic substrate and thereby prevent us from making rune blanks, which would be extremely bad.

Re. the three remaining prep days, can I suggest Dragon Roar and PLTR125 for two of them? (Both on your list.) Dragon's Roar I think might be useful because it targets a secondary stat and doesn't destroy terrain; PLTR125 I obviously have personal reasons to argue for, but I do think it's potentially a very useful mass buff rune against Akatsuki (and I think with our current PS we can jump straight to PLTR125, if we can do it at all we should be able to do it at that strength without further veterency).

As an additional rune (series) idea, which is a bit out there in terms of viability but might work:

Life Illuminator Rune
Rune

Creates a halo of light around living things with chakra in the (large) AoE. Should hopefully be easy, but should research it separately to make sure.

Target Painter Rune
Rune

This rune creates a halo of light around living things with chakra in the (large) AoE, except those whose chakra signatures have been input into the rune (ideally at any time after creation, but during creation is fine if that's what makes it doable).



If this works, it would then lead into making a Target Painter Rune with some highly damaging effect (if possible), which we could make our own fighters untargeted by. Might not work, of course, but possibly worth investigation.

I've tried to push for this before, people threw a fit about it being impossible for Noburi to keep them alive mid-term. I don't think that's true but I don't see much point in putting effort into that again.

Also we're in a really bad position for that to be a thing we do unless we wanna send Kei + Tenten + Mari on a capture mission half the continent away.
 
Tbh I am salty right now. We can't research chakra draining, we can't research chakra water, we only get 20% (and not for clone training), and then we don't even unstagnate ? All this at the cost of a week of in-game time, and a severe for Yuno ?!?
This whole expedition was a waste.

I suppose we could try rushing medical notes to see if that lets us research the chakra water ? Medical knowledge + TH knowledge + Runes could maybe do it... But I'm not sure if the stagnation we take from reading the notes is worth the 20% gain.

I'd say that completing the pool rune should unstagnate us in MedKnow if we do stagnate in it.
