Next relocation, I want to visit the magic chakra water cave. Being cut off from Leaf's chakra means it might be a huge help to our research rate, with or without Noburi.
Did we get the info about this cave from one of the Orochimaru lootboxes? Sorry, I can't remember.
Since we need Primordial Sealing right now, and Biosealing is confirmed to be its own stat, and the logic behind that implies MS is likely to be its own stat, then DoB is very much a large positive (since it applies to all of 'em).
There is one thing we should consider before losing SSA: Army of One. It's (probably?) easier to make all the AoO variants we want to make while we have SSA. (Right? I haven't run the numbers TBH.)
See, I was pushing for that for a dozen updates. Now, knowing sand is one of their best information Network locations? I'm more concerned going there
I wonder if we can use Jiraya's network to get information on Akatsuki's network. Regardless, I guess it depends on where exactly the cave is.
The only people who know we know about the chakra water cave are ourselves and Orochimaru. Not even Naruto knows that we know about that site (and it's very likely he doesn't know about it at all, nor does anyone else in Leaf that isn't Uplift).
Does the family know about the cave? If so then we should probably consider it compromised.
the simple possibility of Itachi space-warping through them or even teleporting other Akatsuki members through.
Do we know if Kamui exists? And if so, how does it work?
Without Noburi, we may as well be at a standstill. We can't research in those conditions, not the breadth and depth needed to complete all our runic weapons and runic tools in the necessary timeframe. With the full Team Uplift at our side, we're a researching machine. Without him, we may as well give up on preventing Pain's return. If so, I recommend going off the map to a place where we won't be hunted and see if there's any forbidden lore there. If we give up on the necromancy race then we're playing the long game, hoping the world remains in one piece long enough for us to complete our research anyways. Or maybe we tell Hana what's going on and ask her to help us kidnap a Wakahisa or something, idk.
OK, I'm convinced that we need
at least Noburi. But I'm concerned for what happens to the clan if we take the rest of the team. I like the idea of taking them but I want to minimize the damage to the clan. Perhaps we can leave it to Gaku as regent or something?
(If Itachi is still hanging around Leaf, sneaking intel past him would be quite tricky. We could hand Noburi an encoded letter, but Itachi could just yoink it and demand someone translate it. Even if he couldn't, the mere presence of a letter likely makes him suspicious enough to hinder exfiltration. We could tell Noburi an encoded message, that even he does not know the true meaning of until he relays it to Mari, much like Naruto's "playing around in the sand" codephrase, but I do not know if we credibly have such a system set up at this point in time.)
Itachi could well be snooping around Mari as well. I'd bet on Itachi being better at genjutsu than her.
Or, heck, 200 km farther than that, 500 km farther. Realistically, nothing stops us from going to the other end of the world entirely. We have the supplies, there's nobody we need to come in contact with, and we can still relatively easily make the return trip once we're done.
I think we should go build the Village Hidden in the Sky by the power of skytowers. It's really hard to pin-point a hidden outpost in 3d space. We can probably out-scream Kagome into letting us do it if we really try.
Edit: Can we use Scenery Clones to hide Hidden Sky even better?
to returning to Leaf to go missing.
Hmm, on the one hand going back to Leaf to then run away again gives us a chance to coordinate with the others better, but I think that overall the risk of Akatsuki catching us is too high. Once we go back to Leaf we have to be ready to defend it and not leave until Akatsuki is defeated.
IMO we go back, sanity-check with Kei, then leave a dead drop with the Toad Sages since Noburi is showing up with them every day to train.
Yeah, Kei would be sad if we ignored her (again!). Unless there's a plan that calls for an immediate message to Noburi? I think we should wait, given that Itachi is waiting at the compound.
So slightly crazy idea but what if instead of jumping all around the elemental nations we went and cut a deal with Ryugami to stay in Mist for a while?
Nah, Mist won't be able to protect us, even if they were willing to.
I like this. She is also a master of genjutsu and can keep an eye on Noburi (I know some people were worried Itachi might try to secretly genjutsu nobs.)
Woulnd't genjutsu be broken by going to the Seventh Path? It's a ninjutsu effect (sorta), so wouldn't the caster have to be nearby to maintain it?
(Sorry for the long post, but I'd rather reply to everything in one post than multi-post.)
