its pretty late to be making changes
I have no intention of making any changes which alter to any appreciable degree the spirit of the plan - both because I don't generally make substantial changes to the spirits of my plans (I'd rather take it down and write a new one) and because doing so would not be kosher. But I'm notifying everyone, and I'm unwilling to curtail my ability to edit my plan based on overly literal interpretations of unwritten rules.

The effective differences between the initial plan and the updated one are nil: it flows better and communicates the ideas better. Beyond those efficiencies they're interchangeable.

Was referring more to future changes to prevent vote drops. Given if it would prevent a vote drop it would prob be non-trivial
Let me clarify: I'm confused as to what you wanted to accomplish with the initial comment.

Point the first: if someone changes their vote, they've either:
  • Read another plan and liked it enough to de-vote mine and vote for that plan. That sucks for me but there's nothing I can do because I'm not going to compromise the spirit of my plan for a lot of reasons, but among them is the fact that trying to please everyone just makes a mess and loses you votes. (He says, from experience.)
  • They saw a change from the initial to revised plan and didn't like it. In this instances, I either revert, convince them that there is no actual change (I see no changes in the plan's spirit/intent/outcomes) or address the concern with another slight wording tweak.
Point the second: I've written a lot of plans and won my share of votes. IMO it's pretty obvious that I'm aware of the quest's norms, specifically those around plans. This includes understanding which changes to a plan can and cannot be made to a plan at which points in the voting cycle.

I'm assuming you didn't want to remind me of something I already knew, and I'm further assuming you aren't telling me about this because I can win your vote.

Can you explain what the intention was?

Pretty sure that the Anbu Goat, Owl, and Panda were Ino, Shika, and Choji. Asuma's formal pupils who are people he can trust absolutely with Leaf's reduced ninja pool.

There were three ANBU, all male (or, if any were women, they were women with tall frames, bound breasts, and impressive voice-changing seals). The one with the owl mask gestured at the three of them.
Unless MfD!Choji is uuuuh different from canon!Choji, I don't think that he's particularly tall. Ditto Shika.

We also know (?) that Shika is Fire element. Sure, they could lie, but Asuma has good reason to keep the OPSEC compartment tight and to keep anyone who could learn EM well out of it.

I thought you meant that if someone was going to drop their vote you could change your plan so they would like it so they wouldn't drop it. I didn't realize you just meant drop their vote due to the revisions you already made

if it looked like you were making non-trivial changes anyway, or you hadn't yet but convinced me it was okay to do so, then you could convince me to vote for your plan. And those could have followed from what I said. But that wasn't the primary intent of my statement

Edit:

Also you've made changes to plans that I've considered important enough to cause me to give you my vote. But changes that you thought were trivial. Now you ended up correct that your other voters didn't care about the change. But the difference in opinions makes me nervous of what you will consider trivial

My confusion springs from the fact that there are only two reasons someone would drop their vote - changes I made, or realizing that there's another plan they like much better.

At this point in the cycle people have probably already seen all the plans and I was pinging people specifically because I made changes.

If someone is going to drop a vote after I made that post tagging them, it seems pretty clear to me that it would be due to changes made.

I still don't really understand the initial comment. Were you warning me not to make big last-minute changes? The confusion remains because

This ultimately doesn't matter that much, but I'm scratching my head.

I think there's plausible chance that it would be due to other reasons. Whether changing their mind (via independent thought or arising from discussion points), or edits in other plans.

Yes

The confusion remains because
I added an edit to my previous post

I disagree, on the grounds that Ino would absolutely not be selected to perform the mindscan on Akane unless Asuma had literally no other options available.
Seconding this comment. Ino is not a biased party in this. Sure, Asuma is her sensei, mentor, and Hokage, but Ino is also dating Akane and Hazou. Asuma even told Hazou that, since he's dating Ino, he can no longer wholly trust the advice of the Yamanaka Clan.

Further, we've seen (from back when Jiraiya had Mari mind-scanned) that there are Yamanaka ninja in ANBU.

Also, the fact that it was Owl who read Akane's mind suggests that Agent Black is dead. :(

You know, I've long-since theorized that Noburi's chakra water might help make an artificial form of chakra metal if we use it in the refinement of iron ore... but what if we add Earthshaping into the mix? Between chakra metal and Earthshaping, I feel like we could seriously make an artificial form of chakra metal.

HAZOU: Hey Shikamaru, I invented a way to create chakra metal!

SHIKAMARU: Why are you like this?

HAZOU: "I warned you from Day One that I was like this. And if you didn't believe me, then you definitely should've believed Kei."

SHIKAMARU: "...I'll run the projections, but I'll be forwarding my Willowbark Tea and my Akimichi Stimulant expenses to you from now on."

HAZOU: "...okay, that's fair."

Hm.
Repetition Jutsu [wind element]
Initial phase lasts concentration, up to a minute. Any sound heard in that zone in the initial phase will be repeatedly recreated afterwards until the jutsu fades in a couple hours.

We can use this with banshee seals both for mid-combat extended buffs, and to prevent people from sleeping.

Hey, you know how Elemental Mastery was a cute utility jutsu until we've invested more effort into it than anyone in history, at which point it turned out to be a weapon of horrific mass destruction?

And you know how Earthshaping is a cute utility jutsu with minimum combat applications, that we're now investing more effort into than probably anyone in history?

I think that should concern someone. In-universe, at least.
