Alright, then. I do not like the idea of going to the Nagi Island rift site, for multiple reasons:
  • It's been noted previously that the Kages don't want anyone poking around at the seal until they decide what to do with them, so the place is under heavy guard (by foreign ninjas) so nobody does that. Also note that Asuma wouldn't want us to do that without permission but obvious solution is obvious.
  • Hazou is seriously injured, meaning he's not going to be able to sneak in, and his combat ability is worth a lot less than usual. Bodyguards are only gonna get us so far.
  • Asuma is Not Happy with Hazou and the Gouketsu in general, so Hazou skipping out to study the damn thing without a really good excuse isn't going to fly with him.
  • We also has to deal with the emotional disaster that is the Isan team, and I do not want to see HeartBreaker Mari's idea of a "happy family".
  • Also note: Hazou has his fingers in multiple crisis-pies.

Maddies wants to go to Love Island, not Nagi Island.

I still don't like the idea of Hazo going on a trip when seriously disabled and injured, especially since we aren't even waiting for Isan team to come home.

Never mind dealing with a famine and a shattered finance.

We are waiting for them to come home though. I actually just said I didn't like that, because I wanted that moment to have screentime, if you scroll back a page.

[x] [poll] bring Noburi
He needs more screentime + he's the closest thing to a chakra sensor we have right now

[x] Action Plan: Piercing the Veil
  1. Isan Team:
    1. Track Aida Rin and Mochiaki, and arrange for an ANBU capture team. Provide assistance if sensible. Do not take undue risk.

[x] Action Plan: Piercing the Veil

Could you add a note to make sure Asuma is on board with the idea beforehand? Maybe he thinks the ties with Isan are too fragile to risk it, maybe he doesn't want Hazo to presume he can ask for ANBU resources, maybe Orochimaru has called dibs, either way we should tread carefully lest we unintentionally do a treason.

[X] [poll] bring Haru

I think Noburi deserves a rest and Yuno needs him. Ino is a busy woman. Time to bond with Haru!

Reasonable enough. I doubt he'll shoot down "Hey, I want to go on a field trip to learn more about dimensions, it could help with the great seal".

    1. Track Aida Rin and Mochiaki, and arrange for an ANBU capture team. Provide assistance if sensible. Do not take undue risk.
  2. Hazou and Kagome:
    1. Find as much information as you can about rifts and dimensionalism. Consult with sealmasters. Read Jiraiya's notes, the Leaf Private Library, and anything else Asuma is willing to let Hazou access.
    2. Purchase copies of any seals that might behave at all differently at the rift (diagnostic seals if they have them, but just in general anything that might behave differently).
    3. Once Mari is back to manage the clan in Hazou's absence, and if Asuma gives the green light, Hazou and Kagome go on a field trip to the site of the afterlife rift to examine it -- both for furthering their understanding of dimensional sealing in preperation for the Great Seal, and for evaluating the site's suitability for assisting in necromancy. If Kagome thinks that we would need better tools to get meaningful information from this expedition, and those tools are within the pair's ability to research, then do so.
      1. Before leaving, use Iron Nerve to create a detailed diagram of the Great Seal to leave with the Leaf Sealmasters.

[X] Action Plan: Mari Is Angry So Let's Go Punch Some Annoying People
Word Count: Something Or Another
  • Standard Hazou-Keiko debrief:
    • How are you and Yuno handling what happened? We understand what Isan meant to Yuno, and what Takahashi meant to you.
      • Let her do what she needs to do, be there for her.
    • If Keiko's up for it, ask for her thoughts on:
      • Isan: Hazou's concerned about who Takahashi will finally choose to ally with (if he chooses at all).
      • Aida: Rin and Mochiaki are a major strategic asset on Isan uniquely vulnerable from being exiled, but also a potential powderkeg if they decide to seek asylum in Cloud or Mist.
        • Ideally, Hazou wants to turn them into deniable assets ala Jiraiya, but believes that they must be dealt with one way or another: leaving them alone is extremely unwise.
  • I'm lazy, will finish later. Mostly just Aida stuff unless people have suggestions.

i am changing my mind about this plan, not because of bringing cripples into the field, but because this seems to fit better like two separate updates, one for hunting the missing-nin and the family reunion (aka damage control) and the other for the expedition and proposing our crusade to the bosses.

So we're leaving the Isan team dynamic unresolved, while our finance is in tatter, with Leaf in bad economic strides? Seems like we got shinies fever when it comes to pursuing necromancy.

Rin isn't exiled. We don't know what will happen to her, but she's no longer clan head.

"Then, as I cannot bestow two different punishments for the same crime, I sentence all four of you to banishment from the village of Isan, and surrender of all authority over those within. Rin, you have forfeited leadership of the Aida. Nara Keiko, you have forfeited the title of Akio's Chosen. I grant you a day and a night to settle your affairs, as Ui granted Kiba the Long-Toothed a day and a night during the Trial of the Inuzuka. In the morning, after your departure, we will hold funeral rites over four urns, and if ever you enter the borders of Isan, those urns will be filled."

Rin was Clan Head of the Aida Clan, not the Inoue Clan. We know she left, we just don't know where she is (yet).

[x] [poll] bring Yuno
[x] [poll] bring Yuno and Noburi

I maintain that Noburi is probably the most immediately helpful person to have present for any future experiments like this

I think the best thing we can do for our finances right at this immediate second is "let Mari do her thing". And I don't think that there's anything you can put in a plan to help the team dynamic that can't wait until next cycle.

We always have excuses to put off necromancy. I've been bashing my head against that problem for years. But this time, it's also helping us deal with the interdimensional apocalypse, so I think we can afford to calm down and let Hazou work on it for a bit.

Which mean exactly? In the meantime, we could access doggos gold if we know what to trade that Doggos likes and won't die using/eating(no chocolate).

Finances are a meme wheres the epic ninja combat and romcom :V

I actually don't agree with this, I think we can be pretty proactive about finances and making deals with the dogs for gold and stuff, but I also don't think this is immediately pressing

@MadScientist Some suggestions:
  • Could you add to "sanity-check with Keiko/Mari" at the top of the plan?
  • I'm not fully on-board with directly sending an ANBU capture team as the first option. Part of this is paranoia due to Takahashi probably sending someone to keep an eye on them so they don't betray Isan, part of it is because I'm not fully sure our team will be onboard with doing this...but mostly it's because I'm a naive idealist and would prefer Leaf to turn the two of them into deniable assets like what Jiraiya did to us. Still think capture + T&I is better than leaving them alone, though.

I added the sanity check, but I really don't think we're going to be able to turn the people who just tried to murder us, and whom "we" just got kicked out of their homes and families, into deniable assets for Leaf.
