I actively avoid Ami chapters, when I can. Could you explain?
Ami proposed a sort of 7th path international law thing to smooth over recruiting clans for the DRAGONWAR, but she confessed her knowledge of the 7th path is limited so it may not be fully effective. We'll need to run it by Cannai and/or Kumokogo to see if they have any alterations they want to make. This is likely going to need to be its own scene but you can probably just say "Run Ami's Crusader idea by X" and that is sufficient

Hm. I'm not opposed to the idea, but like Cari said, Ami stuff is better on Vel updates. Also, I don't want to dilute the plan too much by adding extra scenes. We've already got "ANBU + Isan Team vs the Aida in combat" and "Hazou and Kagome go do necromancy together", and I think that's nice and focused on things EJ enjoys.

Once Mari is back to manage the clan in Hazou's absence, he and Kagome go on a field trip to the site of the afterlife rift to examine it -- both for furthering their understanding of dimensional sealing in preperation for the Great Seal, and for evaluating the site's suitability for assisting in necromancy. If Kagome thinks that we would need better tools to get meaningful information from this expedition, and those tools are within the pair's ability to research, then do so.
I know this is a dumb as fuck thing to say, but the way that this is worded you are implying Mari (the "he" in the sentence) and Kagome go on the field trip, not Hazou and Kagome which I assume you actually want.

I notice that Keiko is referring to herself as Kei, dropping the -ko. That's character development, right? I think I remember reading something about that, but I don't know the chapter.

...I don't see that interpretation, but I'll make the edit.
Actually, would you be averse to taking that part out entirely? Leave Akane in charge for a couple days, essentially? (I know you don't like her but Ami helped us run interference for the bank run, too, and she likes Akane. I think she could fill a Mari-esque role for a few days)
For a couple reasons: We already need to wait on the return of the Isan team so this would be a productive use of time, and I don't really want to skip over their return as a scene, personally.

[x] Action Plan: Piercing the Veil
  1. Isan Team:
    1. Track Aida Rin and Mochiaki, and arrange for an ANBU capture team. Provide assistance if sensible. Do not take undue risk.
  2. Hazou and Kagome:
    1. Find as much information as you can about rifts and dimensionalism. Consult with sealmasters. Read Jiraiya's notes, the Leaf Private Library, and anything else Asuma is willing to let Hazou access.
    2. Once Mari is back to manage the clan in Hazou's absence, Hazou and Kagome go on a field trip to the site of the afterlife rift to examine it -- both for furthering their understanding of dimensional sealing in preperation for the Great Seal, and for evaluating the site's suitability for assisting in necromancy. If Kagome thinks that we would need better tools to get meaningful information from this expedition, and those tools are within the pair's ability to research, then do so.
To maximize the odds of the trip not being a total waste with the tools we have now, I recommend not just consulting with other sealmasters for information, but also to purchase copies of any seals that might behave at all differently at the rift (diagnostic seals if they have them, but just in general anything that might behave differently).

I also think that since we're doing this right about when Hazou gets his bloodline back, he should make a new sketch of the Great Seal with bloodline guidance before he leaves, just so that the other sealmasters can dig into it while we're away. Ideally we'd also ask around offscreen for earthshaping jutsu or something of equivalent utility for making a 3D replica of the Great Seal but we don't need to do that right now.

Rin doesn't need to be tracked. She lost her position as clan head.

Well presumably, Hazou and Kagome would be researching during that time, talking to sealmasters and reading notes, etc. And maybe also researching tools if Kagome says to. Isan Team aren't going to take long to come back, so I assume they'll be here before Hazou's ready to leave.

Also, I don't want a repeat of what happened the last time that both Hazou and Mari were away simultaneously.

If the hivemind feels strongly about it, I'll change it, but otherwise, I think this version is sensible.

These are sensible suggestions. I'll add them.

  1. Before leaving, use Iron Nerve to create a detailed diagram of the Great Seal to leave with the Leaf Sealmasters.
Might be worth hiring guards for this. Hazou is basically crippled right now. If we run into badass chakra beasts it could be extremely bad.

Okay, let's put it to a poll:

[] [poll] Kagome is bodyguard enough
[] [poll] bring Noburi
[] [poll] bring Keiko
[] [poll] bring Akane
[] [poll] bring Haru
[] [poll] bring Yuno
[] [poll] bring someone else

I notice that Keiko is referring to herself as Kei, dropping the -ko. That's character development, right? I think I remember reading something about that, but I don't know the chapter.
She's always referred to herself as Kei in her head. It's been suggested to her that she could have people call her that in daily life, but nothing has come of that yet.
