Setting: Hazou meets with Keiko and gets updated.
  • About Mari:
    • Tone:
      • Maintain Standard Gouketsu Family SOP as possible.
      • Speak calmly and kindly, use CCnJ as appropriate.
      • Listen to Keiko.
      • We are NOT trying to convince Keiko of anything, just explaining Hazou's thought processes.
    • Ask Keiko why she thinks Mari's never apologized?
      • Mari's a Jonin social-spec, and knows a lot about Keiko.
      • She must know how important an apology (or similar) is.
      • So why hasn't she?
    • Hazou believes Mari's scared of manipulating us.
      • Mari shares your worries about being a broken social-spec. This might be part of the reason she's avoided apologizing; she wants to be sure it's genuine.
      • We won't go into too much detail to avoid violating Mari's confidence, but Hazou believes that Mari acknowledges these issues, and that she's working on them.
    • Hazou repeats he doesn't want to convince Keiko to forgive Mari.
      • Hazou is simply explaining his thought processes.
      • But we'd like to ask what Keiko wants from Mari.
        • An apology? Restitution (what would that look like)?

      • We wanted to replicate Ami's actions in Leaf/Mist, but failed to incorporate Isan's....Yagura-ness.
      • We should still make Keiko a religious icon/High Priest alternative.
    • Could Keiko clear chakra monsters with Isan's patrols, using that to gain allies?
    • Ask for Yuno to suggest potential allies among those who "won't fit in".
    • Should we ask the Tower for resources/a loan?
  • Send Mari's birthday present: bubble bath seals & a transportable bathtub to use in Isan.

      • You want an apology (you deserve an apology), but what else?
        • Remorse? Mari's soul bleeds guilt and grief.

          • She's already tried to sacrifice herself for us already.
          • She's already returned to active duty, despite wanting to retire for reasons we both know.
          • Tell Keiko about TLitF (show Jiraiya's notes on the subject)
        • Reform?
          • Keiko, Mari's already grown so far beyond the Heartbreaker that she once was, she's grown so far beyond the person that she was in the Swamp. Even in Leaf, Mari was focused more on growing as a person than sharpening her skills.
      • We Agree: there must be acknowledgement/atonement. What does that look like? What form should Mari's atonement take? Justice or Vengeance?
      • We support you. We love you.
    • Pause. Take a breath. Maintain SOP and CCnJ. Reiterate love, care, support. Answer questions/assess feelings before continuing.
    • Our plans have been of... mixed quality.
      • You're the inheritor of Isan's mythic/cultural authority.
      • We have secured [resources] from Asuma. The clan is at your disposal.

I have some suggested edits to FS's plan that may fit in yours (asking Keiko what she wants, following Goketsu SOP, bringing Jiraiya's notes as proof of Hazou's claims regarding TLitF, etc).

Yes, the combat group got together. Hazō hasn't been involved because he can't currently summon and can barely stay awake for three hours at a time.

Nope. Only Summoners can travel to the Seventh Path. Trying to bring living things along always fails, although not in a consistent way. Sometimes the attempt fails, sometimes the critter arrives dead, sometimes it doesn't go along, etc

What about dead bodies or other things that used to be alive? Are dismembered body parts allowed? What about stuff like horns, teeth, claws, fingernails or hair? Just curious

i explained myself poorly, a summoner may enter the seventh path from any point, but they can only return to that designated point until they go back and move. we could get them to the seventh path and back to isan like we had been doing.

One thing I want to try is to see if one summoner is carrying another if they can reverse summon both summoners to the same location

So... I kinda got roped into binge-reading the Wandering Inn around Christmas. Five months later I emerge victorious and am ready for new MfD hijinks.

I almost expected to find Hazō in a worst state than he seems to appear atm ;) Good job keeping him alive!

Bear in mind that while we're allowing you to talk to Keiko and come up with a plan's worth of response on the spot, Hazō can't retroactively go back to Leaf and ask people to write letters based on what she's just told him.

I thought Hazou could summon, since his Minor Consequence has cleared. Also in the update he mentions having talked with Kumokogo about a Dragon threat assessment. Sorry about being pedantic, I just want to make sure I'm not misunderstanding something.

Bleh, must have gotten cut off. It's meant to have Keiko kill chakra monsters with the locals [Side note: I want to say "local ninja who are assigned to do chakra monster clearing", but have no idea how to shorten that]. Edited.

      • In that context, can she even feel the remorse (or any emotion) needed to make a genuine apology, and not just another manipulation?

uh how are we actually going to get Jiraiya's seals to the Great Seal? Are we going to have to sacrifice a bunch of 7th Path Denizens every time we want to change them out?
