On Thread Etiquette:

I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

Please endeavour to be cordial. :^)

Kholek was no joke... and I'm pretty sure there's a vanishingly small list of things in WHF that could even think of going 1v1 against him and winning.

I'm thinking the likes of Grimnir or other martially inclined Ancestors, maybe some of the Elder Slann, and some of the strongest Elven heroes... but even then I'm not certain on the outcome. Kholek was utterly monstrous in his power, and seeing him die now rather than living till canon was a stunning victory.
Would have made a good last meal for Abhorash if he didn't get an old Dragon first.

Settra managed to kill him by himself in a duel.

Can you willfully collapse parts of the hold onto the ceremony after or during the rescue of those trapped below, maybe with all those tunnels you can place teams that will destroy certain parts and crush your enemies beneath the hold or at least trap certain enemies in rubble then stop the rvival of Hashut before coming back around to kill the pockets left behind

We know the hammer can collapse things and the irony of the priest being crushed beneath an ancestor statue defaced to look like the bull bastard would be glorious and beautiful
Or
Can the Gift Giver (+Friends) use the workshop of the runedwarves that have passed to make a gift for the enemies in the hall, A powerful rune Combo thats beyond shoddy and designed to explode after its first use that can be shoved down their throats before collapsing the entrance so the flames and fury are funneled into the ritual room

They've defaced dam near everything already and it needs to be destroyed so it can be rebuilt anyway so it would just be getting started early.

I can only imagine the BOOM generated by countless years of explosions made while making near perfect runes could be funneled into one that was designed to be absolutely catastrophic on purpose

It might be possible, but something to bear in mind; the past examples of rigging internal structures to collapse in Dwarf Karaks in this quest were done as intentional features, built with that purpose in mind from the ground up. I'm sure it could be done, but doing it here with the time constraints of trying to stop a Daemonic ritual? It has a far higher chance of either not working, or bringing down more of the hold than we intended, including parts where our Throng might be fighting, or there are survivors present.

As sweet and poetic a vengeance as it would be, it is not an effective or efficient use of our time. We'll just have to content ourselves with smashing the priest's face in with a hammer bearing the visages of two of the Ancestor Gods he forsook.

How large is the Throng anyways? I would guess that Kraka Drak provided around a thousand Dawi. Ornsmotek probably provided the largest amount of warriors, due to its connection with Igna. Around ten thousand total, perhaps? It would probably be closer to five.

@soulcake I feel like the sections that cover what Snorri's former apprentices are doing don't flow well with the rest of the chapters. Maybe put the sections on Snerra, Dolgi, etc at the beginning or end of the chapters instead of in the middle. I just think that may flow better, since the viewpoint won't be suddenly switching away from the current battle and back.
