also Janna had the mad mojo cookbook what happened to that does she still have it and get to keep it since it wasn't actually bought at the auction
Also, that Curse with 'The City's Doom comes in Stone'?
Say...didn't Demona cast a Spell once that turned almost all Humans in New York into Stone?
Sorry to tell ya, but not gonna happen. Russ is unfailing loyal to the federal government. If there is any secret that could challenge his loyalty, it would be the sorta thing you uncover after a decade of Intrigue checks. Trying to dissuade him for his government loyalty is like sending Dennis to spy on Xanatos: Not technically impossible, but, don't count on it.[X] "You're wrong, and I'll prove it to you."

At the end of the day, I want Russ to be ours.
Right now he is serving a master that isn't really helping Russ become more. So I say we will challenge his worldview and make him see that being Evil is better to serve the people and give them a better future then the American Government who only pays lip service to the idea of America as a country of freedom

So Russ has a higher occult than Janna. I know this is impossible due to mechanics, but what would it be like if Feldrake was given to him.Agent Russ' Occult score revealed to be 15! Agent Russ is not a spell slinger, but he has spent decades dealing with them.
If we send Janna to study under Felldrake next turn, it's entirely probable she won't stay below him much longer. So Russ has a higher occult than Janna. I know this is impossible due to mechanics, but what would it be like if Feldrake was given to him.
Also, really happy we managed to get those magic defenses up. We're probably going to need them.
Maybe we could collaborate with Xanatos on magical defenses?

I'm torn. On the one hand, I really want to prove Russ wrong, plus the masquerade is probably going to break soon. On the other, I don't think we have the framework or the time to pull this off effectively, plus at worst we just might pour gas on the fire.
The second vote is easier, thankfully.
strenghtening Janna doesn't mean breaking the Masquerade. we can still buff her with the magic bazaar, studies, Felldrake temples.[X] "You're wrong, and I'll prove it to you."

I want to strengthen Janna for the inevitable clash with Toffe and we can afford the hit to Russ Loyalty with the incoming interlude but most of all I want to see more character development from Russ. This is Doof acting as himself rather than being manipulated.
She's only 2 below him right now with Zero training. If we send Janna to study under Felldrake next turn, it's entirely probable she won't stay below him much longer.

The Stars and Stripes Forever: Agent Russ is unshakably loyal to the ideals of America.
I think you're wrong. He has 2 different loyaltiesFlouting the Government: -20 (Russ is very loyal to the American government, and is a bit miffed you're acting in open defiance of its control...)
Echoes general sentiment of "That's not good""Hear me well and hear me wise, though meet we now with our demise. To stone we turn on hallowed ground, but peace, respite will not be found! With my last breath I do intone- thine doom as well, will come through Stone! I damn my soul now unencumbered. This city's days, I say, are numbered!"
Something has been sped up.
Yes! Yes! Yes! A boost to Janna's best attributes is wonderful when she's going to be Questing for the foreseeable future, and any boost in Doof's stats is utterly amazing!Doof's Intrigue has increased by 3! Janna's Intrigue has increased by 2! Janna's Occult has increased by 3!
I prefer to think the item they were worried about was the Multiverse's Best Sandwich. No basis, just funny. From an alcove, another figure skulked. This one popped open a small device, and Molly spoke in her angry, synthetic tones.
"Yes. He was here. That item you were worried about? He bought it." Molly paused a moment. "And he had a wizard with him. Strong. She called herself…"
"Lord Feldrake."

Also, I'd lol if the "Stone" in this spell/prophecy turned out to be Drake Stone. The capitalized Stone instantly pinged my radar, because it reminded me of a certain other movie in which a seemingly innocuous phrase in a prophecy turned out to refer to a character by name. Not Disney, and it's probably a longshot anyway, but just wanted to post that theory.

I know it'd generally be better to just not rock the boat for now, but I can't. Magic can do a whole bunch of good, like brewing potions en-mass to cure sickness/injuries, or cutting carbon emissions from cars by swapping over to broomsticks/magic carpets/other means of magical transportation, or solving crimes using post-cognition so investigators could watch as everything unfolded, or...
Just, lots of stuff that magic can do to make life immensely better for a lot of people. If there are jerks who would take advantage of magic or be prejudiced against it out of fear or hatred, the answer is to stop them from screwing things up for the rest of us, not withhold an immense societal benefit because people are bad. Because if we wait until everyone behaves, if we wait until everyone who would oppose the greater quality of life that magic promises is out of the way, we're going to be waiting a long, long while.
If people misuse magic, we can stop them. If magical creatures/beings are threatened, we can protect them. I just don't want to let fear prevent us from advancing human society.

Of course, we will, it's a magic textbook that was up in the most valuable section of the action. What's the point of calling ourselves evil if we're not willing to engage in a bit of thievery for personal gain?
I wonder if we can send him to shadow Russ next turn...Also, really surprised Max didn't get anything. Was expecting a trait or something. Oh well.
Lack of a Xanatos reaction somewhat concerns me, but that's probably in the next interlude.
