On Thread Etiquette:

I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

Please endeavour to be cordial. :^)

[X] Character Moment: What is a King?
-[X] Vision, he must see farther into the future and deeper into the hearts than any other.
-[X] His people, no man can do all, find those of heart and skill to act in your name.
-[X] Decisiveness, when push comes to shove, a king orders chaos.
-[X] Enduring, there is no master to cushion a failure and no one grows without falling on ones nose. A king must live with successes and failures greater than any other.

[X] Social: Lady Valma Stoneshaper
[X] Social: Logazor Bonestrider, Head Ranger of Karak Vlag
[X] Social: A Ranger from Uzkulak

Poor Gimli -I'm-good-at-killing-monsters, I guess dwarfes have a rather "impossible to wriggle out of" hereditary titles..
But then the thoughtfulness he's demonstrating does make him more qualified.

Also doubling up on the rangers, something capable of depopulating all the gribblies in that large of an area must be nasty, and I like the tension it builds (sry Dawlin).

We're "owed" favours from the clan and even individuals. Are there any clans or individuals we owe favours to? Or do we settle our debts asap?

How does our "DEFENSE. IN. DEPTH." mentality for Kraka Drakk jive with "NOT ONE MORE STEP BACK!" ? I mean. They're opposed philosophies..?
Welcome to the quest.

1. Possible, but it hasn't happened yet.
2. There is one point we will not let them through, bleed them dry and break them before we ever there.

Eh, I don't really like any of the 'character moment' writeups.
That said. there is a place for beardling work, at the very least, there is a finite and limited number of master artisans, so I guess
[X] Character Moment: A Leader of his Own
is the least shoddy one.

In the worst case scenario where the fourth wall is breached, what next? Fifth wall = no further?
Edit: Also, when will the Murderous Labyrinth of Kraka Drakk get upgraded to Purple / Epic tier?

I think that since Hashut's success with the chaos dwarfs was not absolute this time means he is trying to suborn the monsters and stuff too.

What actually happened with Hashut and the chaos dwarves? There was that interlude with Gazul helping kill what google tells me was Hashut's high priest but I'm not that knowledgeable on warhammer lore; did we do something that messed with their rise or did they just roll badly in the background?

Snorri managed to (help) contribute power to the Ancestors enough that they managed to protect the eastern dwarfs from Hashut.

.Elsewhere.
The cave rumbles at the sound of far flung combat, here in the deepest and most secure places in the hold the Children are kept safe from the depredations above. Around them, glittering seams of gold remain untouched, the lands so rich in the stuff that the dwarfs living in the Great Skull Plain find these mighty seams rather anemic. Better to be decoration than mined in their eyes.

In the center of the mass of children, several young priests work to keep them calm, invoking prayers to the Ancestors beseeching them for aid.

(Roll, The Iron Chain vs The Ancestors: 1 +50[Place of Power] +50[Fate once Trod] =101 vs. 100 +30[Empowered Beyond Expectation] +50[Uncountable Age] -50[Fate Denies you] =130)

Fate turns, the pebble is dropped.
And they are heard.

The Runes of the Ancestors glow in response, warming them in these troubled times, now and forever. The Dwarfs of Uzkulak are not forgotten and whatever evil dares to assail them will find no easy prey.
Also, the nat1 vs nat100 played a roll.

Grungni and Valaya even visited Snorri back in the Grand Conclave.

Thanks, I remember reading that bit, I wasn't really clear on what was happening but I was bingeing and didn't want to stop to research every background detail I didn't get. I guess now I'm caught up I'll have to have a reread so I can pick up any background stuff I missed. The ancestors certainly picked a good time to bless the dice there.

Speaking of Valaya and Grungi, are there any plans in the pipeline to research the basket she gave us? I get that time is tight and there so much stuff to do with it but I'm pretty curious as to what the basket runes do together.

It's definitely an idea that has some support, there's just a lot of options on the plate. Understand MPurification, compress a combo, mat sci research, Diction, the princes' armour. It'll come down to what the lurkers are interested in.

If nothing else, finishing up the Mat research would shorten the size of the turn the most. :p

Well, other than finishing the Grimnir Gronti.

I've been pushing for doing Hearthstones, then doing it, on the grounds that Valaya, Goddess of HEARTH and Home who personally said she liked the Hearthstones is going to be linked to them just a bit. Save on research points.

The fabled 5th action should return to us on T32 after which research gets much easier to do. We could do something like:
T32: 3 rune metal, 2 hearthstones, all brotherhood favor and potentially get rune metal 5 done if the assistance rolls well and get the hearthstones done
T33: 4 Rune metal, 1 potato or 3 rune metal, 1 potato, odd places

I think it's going to depend on whether we actually get a few research turns or if something derails the plans again. We have like what 100-200 years before Grungni and the rest vanish? It would be nice to be done both rune metal chains and have the basket figured out by then.

Minor update folks, but Im letting the vote run til tomorrow. I have a midterm then so there probably wont be any writing til that's done and stuff. :^)
