Damnit this is a HARD choice. Acquire Knowledge will leave us with only 12 points to use in the last round, which unnerves me. But the loot would be good.

Key and Ki leaves us with 18 points at full success, but given Xanatos has taken interest I really don't think we're getting the scrolls at the base price.

I really doubt we will get both the scroll and the book since Xanatos is interested in both of them.

With 5 bids we might tie him and win a coin toss.

If we won all three I'd be shocked but that would still leave enough money for a big bid on one item next round.

Yeah, I am pretty much certain that we are not getting the scrolls with Key and Ki.

That said there is one additional factor that people seem to have failed to consider: people were saying that we should trust Xanatos to block Demona's purchase of whatever she is here for.

He is probably going to make at least one minimum bid for the cookbook and another for the scrolls, probably more than that. Depending on how much he spends in this stage, he may not have enough cash around to do any blocking, particularly if she is here for something other than David's main priority, whatever that happens to be.

it is very unlikely that we win all 3 items, most likely outcome that we will be left with 17 points, which is good for acquiring one 3rd turn item. Second plan leave us with 22 points, which will tempt us to play risky and split them on two items.

If Xanatos can't outbid her, it's probably 20+ bid. At least 15+.Not our job. She was stopped in cannon, she will be stopped here.

Two vote difference.
What if 12 points isn't enough to get a really cool item in R3 :(
If everyone wants the Encantus or something like that we might need to drop 18 on one item (18 is the leftover if we get both key n Ki items)

I really want to know where the assumption that a single round 3 item is going to cost more than double its starting bid is coming from.

Honestly, we might not get any items with Plan Acquire Knowledge.

Xanatos is interested in both the Scroll and Cookbook.

Someone else is interested in the key, so they might match our bid, leaving it to a coin flip.

[X] Plan Acquire Knowledge, revised

Both plans seem pretty good, but the cookbook, scrolls and key seem pretty neato so I'll vote for this one. Seems that they could lead to some interesting and fun stuff, and I do love going for stuff like that. And if one or more is not retrieved then, well, that's more points for the next round.

Also, uh, I think this is my first post for this quest. It's pretty neato burrito! Been following it for a little while now, and I'm certainly enjoying it a lot thus far. 0u0

I mean, Bowler Hat man hasn't spent any money yet. If he came here specifically for the Encantus, then I could see him putting 15 down on it.

Xanatos could also particularly desire the Encantus.

It's unlikely that we win all 3 items, and by winning 2 we left with 17 points which I think is right amount for 3rd turn. Worst case if we win all 3 we can just go for item with less competition.

It's not right to assume that 3rd round plays the same as previous two, since people will stop holding points for future turns. I think we need to estimate how many points participant most likely held at the start and subtract their previous acquisitions. If for example Horvath had 15 points at start and didn't acquire anything before we can expect bid on 15 points from him.

nobody was interested in the key except Monty Hall, as a joke. Because he opens doors in the game show.

Encantus has an immortality spell in it, so mr moneybags is going to all in on it. Unless the ?dog? talisman of immortality is also up for grabs.

Literally none of the major players have expressed much interest at all in these earlier rounds. They're all here for the t3 Heavy Hitter Big Moolah stuff. I expect us to not be able to outbid one of the few people significantly wealthier than us in the US, on his obsession for immortality.

maybe there's something in t3 that isn't gonna put a target on our heads and isn't going to be dump-bid

maybe we win all three this round and miss out on winning a t3? *shrug* we already have the sandwich so I'm not too worried

.
Because those are the big ticket items. Those are what the big spenders are here for and, just like us, are carefully shepherding their budgets to be able to get. Us, Xanatos, Horvath, and Probably Demona are all willing to go BIG to secure stuff like the Encantus and the Shengxiao pieces.

Because at the end of the day, the Jo-Lan scrolls are both very good and cheap, and I'm not willing to risk not getting them.

Honestly?

I doubt that this Encantus is the original. I'm guessing it's a copy of the original, just like most Encantus are.
