I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

Sets Diction research to be one turned whenever we get to it if we have Apprentices at the time, shortens the Underway by a turn, flexs on the Brotherhood, advances Rune Metal, and makes sure that if we don't have what we need for the Cloak, we'll get it.

We don't know the Master Rune of Grimnir.

The Pyrestrike combo mentions the Rune of Grimnir, so we know ay least the Normal Rune of Grimnir.

Okay I had some thoughts here: the Master Rune of Gromril is basically a necessity, we need it to have the armor's be resistant to titanic blows. However for Gloins armor we could do something a little different by going Master Rune of Gromril, Rune of Valaya, Rune of Preservation. A variant on the combo but one that is very similar in function with slightly different emphasis, and aimed at an heir which is a position that evokes an idea of Home at least in some degree because you need the heir to hold the fort while you're out campaigning it fits.

So an updated plan

General:
-[X] Odd Places 4/10: Look on Master Yorri's map and try and discover one of his marked locations. The locations will certainly be odd, but whether they'll be useful will remain to be seen. [Cost: 1 action] Roll for usefulness. 1 action

-[X] [Difficult] A Royal Panoply Pt. 1: [Cost: 1 action] If a rune you want requires special ingredients that you don't have access to I will alert you. 1 Action.

Yes? But we don't know the Master Rune of Grimnir. And that's what you are looking for.
 
And also just asking @soulcake if a rune idea exists, like my questions back when about Runes to reduce weight of a thing they're put on or on like a wagon to make its cargo lighter.
You have the Rune of Lightening or a Rune of Vigour. One makes the armour or some weight lighter, and the Rune of Vigour makes someone be able to handle the weight better.

(Because on the one hand, a set of twin armor with twin runes sounds cool... On the other hand, gah Runesmith etiquette and Master Runes...)

EDIT: ... This is probably the sort of thing that becomes contentious and controversial amongst Runesmiths, huh. Radicals might like it or approve of it, maybe; Conservatives might hate it. So not something taboo, but... a hot button issue perhaps?

Two at once is pushing it. V2 is okay because you do switch up at least 1 rune, V1 is super close to the edge.
 
I feel like I should inform everyone, in case they have forgotten, that Rune Combos can themselves make Combos. Creating a set bonus essentially. I say this mostly because you're getting to a point where entire equipment sets are being made and considered so there. Ill add to FAQ if it isnt there already

Using Sanctuary and Valaya interchangeably; and using Preservation and Fortitude interchangeably. (I don't know if it'd be better to pair Preservation and Valaya on one, plus Fortitude and Sanctuary on the other. Can't recall the specific fluff and descriptors of each rune, so I just sort of went by "These are similar-enough words, right?")
 
just copy pasting what I added to the FAQ already.

Q. Can I make set bonuses with difficult requests?
A. Rune Combos on various pieces CAN synergize with each other yes, creating the effect of a set bonus. Around 3 Items with synergistic effects will be needed to potentially make a bonus happen. If you have more than three synergistic items the strength of the bonus increases.

Something of note as well is that while Snorri will live basically forever Otrek Ironarm and Gloin Ironarm will not, and by creating King and Heir sets of Armor and Cloak we are creating panoply that will last for thousands of years in Kraka Drakk. The King will be hot and firey and like a meteor from the heavens, the Heir cool as the blizzards and reliable as stone a safe guardian for the hold while the King is away on campaign.

Since it's okay to change just one rune, I'm not very interested in fiddling with it too much and I actually consider Preservation vital for the purposes of these armors which is: to protect their wearers from instant death via punch and spell gahooky. It's kind of a case of trying to get two distinct effects that live in a family of effects, that family being "Protection from Death Effects". The potential combos just go about it in different ways.
