....That runs right into the punitive restoration issue again. I mean, we balked at 20 grief seeds back when the negotiations first took place, and that was before they expended a whole bunch of seeds in this battle. This will just piss them off, guaranteed.

I honestly don't care about that. These are mostly the UG's seeds to begin with, that Akiko taxed away. We balked at 20 because UG clearly couldn't afford that nonsense. Akiko can and was trying to spend favors left and right before we intercepted her.

Changes:

-[] Ask Ueda if she could help out. Ask her if she has plans to return home. If she can't get back in a timely manner, reassure her that in the case we need to detain Sakura for long, we can personally bring her back home in a matter of minutes. (Telepathy Mami to ask if she thinks we can get her there that quickly, first. Reminder her of our trip between Ishinomaki and Sendai if she needs it.)

-[] Remake the grief transport, get everybody who can't fly inside. Get the bodies inside, too.

Instead of:

-[] Leave the disconnected bodies somewhere they won't be found. Ask the UG if anybody's willing to stand and guard.

Getting Ueda home won't take long, I think. half an hour at the very most?

The Grief transport coffin is just bizarre and pointless. Poorly thought out, won't do us any favors, and does nothing that the alternative doesn't do without the "hey let's drag dead bodies everywhere" factor. Better to just leave them.

Let's find out how many seeds the Sendai girls actually have (and where exatly they've been spending it all) before we start talking about reparations.

Counting chickens and all that jazz, yeah?

Well, okay, what about a ribbon stretcher or something? I don't really mind what we carry them in, just so long as we bring them with us because, well, leaving a bunch of bodies just lying around when we want them doesn't sit right with me.

Just have Mami coccon the bodies in ribbons or something.
I'm also for taking them with us. Saves a bit of time for return trips.
If we are picking up the rest of the bodies by ourselves, they'll be with us anyway might as well take all of them and have everyone in one place.

About the grief seed issue. Does Fukushima get any grief seeds at all or how do you want to handle that?
May want to leave that for later.

...Do you want a meguca WW2? Because this is how we get a meguca world war 2. Seriously, we want everyone to walk away from this basically happy. I know why it seems that demanding punitive repayments seems appealing, especially in light of what they've done, but all it will do is breed resentment.

But then we don't need to bring the bodies at all with it.

Explain to me why bringing the bodies along is a bad idea again? Considering there's no downside to doing so?

Why? We can keep an eye on them if we bring them along, just in case of unpredictable circumstances.

I'm off to have lunch. If this is a big point of contention, make your vote with that as a difference. We should vote to see what the majority wants.

Other than the fact we're carting bodies all over the point when we have no use for them, other than the fact it'll lead to questions and confusion from the people we're trying to help that won't do us any good, other than the fact we have better things to do than cart around bodies for no reason?

Other than that, it's just a stupid idea to begin with.

@Onmur
Not worth trying to split votes over. It's an awful addition that makes no sense, but better that vote than alternatives.

We will get questions regardless of the bodies.
If the bodies stay in our fortress of solitude in the air noone will even be able to see them.
And if we pick up the other bodies, we will be carting around bodies anyway. Might as well add the ones we already have to that.

WW2 really?

You know SV would never let that happen. Come on.

I don't care if Sendai is mad. They deal with it or we stamp them into the ground again.

Yes, but there is no sane reason to have dead bodies dangling in mid-air behind us.

If they're just staying in the fortress, why not just leave them behind? No one's climbing the radio tower to get them and we're keeping the gems.

So why not just take the other bodies back to the tower?

Questions from whom? From what? Why do questions matter again?
Also, what exactly are we giving up by bringing them along? Does making a grief ship to cart them around prevent us from helping out with the S&R operation? What about having to cart the bodies we pick up back to the rooftop?

Seriously, I have no idea why you're so opposed to this. Bring them along gives us certain benefits for no cost. Leaving them there puts them at a limited risk for...no cost. Why are we arguing over this?

Seriously, you need to learn to let go, man. Not everything is worth waging page long flamewars over.

Also, please kindly stop calling ideas stupid without reasoning.

Because talking to civilians won't be a headache without "why do you have bodies".

Why are we bringing them? Do we NEED to waste effort on a grief ship? Why cart them along?

Because it's pointless, does nothing (other than force us to make a grief fortress FOR REASONS), and just makes things awkward.

stupid-lacking intelligence or common sense.

There's nothing intelligent about dragging bodies around when we gain nothing from it and common sense left the scene a long time ago

And talking to civilians isn't going to be a headache in the first place?

Because we'd be returning to get them anyway, and if we are doing so, why not bring them along with us?

And we need a griefship to transport everyone anyway, so, how do we waste effort on something we are already going to do.

If anything, we'd be wasting effort by NOT bringing them with us, since we have to cart the bodies we find right back to the radio tower.
It's not pointless. Would you kindly see the reasons I've posted for bringing them along?

'Everyone is more or less happy' doesn't mean 'Sendai get to keep all their ill-gotten gains'.
Besides which, pragmatically, we do not want Sendai to have the strategic edge of a huge seed stockpile, and UG need more of a seed reserve than they have.

First of all we're not dangling any bodies in the air behind us. That would be kind of not cool.
Secondly, we are not on the radio tower, but on a roof near the radio tower.
Thirdly, creating a floating plattform were we can put the bodies, wrapped into ribbon cocoons by Mami, doesn't take any real effort on our part.
If we are taking others with us we will need a grief platform anyway.

Your "benefits" are practically nonexistent. There's more of a benefit from avoiding the creepy meguca corpsepile in the corner of the griefship- which we also don't need since everyone is meguca and perfectly capable of moving around.

1.Griefship exists because of this.
2.Close enough.
3.Doesn't need to happen.
4.Roofhopping's a thing, isn't it?

Sure everyone can move around on their own.
But we kind of want to hurry, because people might be dying.
Flying everyone over with our grief plattform is way faster than going by rooftop hopping.

Point.

But we don't need to bring the bodies to do that. At all. The idea they'd get snatched from...what, a rooftop at a distance from the disaster is hilariously unlikely.

Argue better, pls. Why are my benefits nonexistent? Give me god damned reasons instead of just asserting that my points are worthless.
Because I'd put higher odds on the cast of Kazumi Magica showing up to perform a dance routine than on your fantasy of the bodies getting snatched For Reasons. And since we can speed back with grief, there's no reason not to leave the bodies behind while we go play medic.

It still doesn't change the fact that putting it this way will make the Sendai group angry. I know we can crush them if they get uppity, but lets not deliberately bait them into attacking us out of spite just so we have a legitimate reason to go all out on them.

I'm fine with the redistribution plan, though, just not "Give Sendai 20 grief seeds as reparation." right off the bat.

We could enforce a swap where 3 full seeds are traded for one empty seed for Sendai, possibly held by us for a short time, and two empty seeds for the UG, until they have a reasonable stockpile, for example five seeds per girl. And we insist on starting with the full seeds used in the war.

It's a way of dressing up taking their seeds, yes, but does so in a way that exploits our powers so that everyone gains something.
