I...actually agree with that reasoning. I think the rationale for that line by NSMS was to cleanse gems directly to prevent misuse of our seed cleansing?
Yeah.

"Why travel 600 miles every week when we can get as many grief seeds as we can and do it once every two months?" Or the like.

Argument being that it creates demand for grief seeds, not reduces, and rocks the boat with Tokyo, plus makes our group more likely to be lied about to keep as private resource so others don't go seed-hunting.

Frankly, I have no problem offering gems now and seeds later, when we've talked with them more and decided on what exactly we're planning to attach as strings.

[x] Update Chouko. Ask them to meet up at the radio tower and pick up any bodies she finds along the way.
-[x] Ask her how bad the damage is.
[x] Ask Ueda for her side of her story. Fill in the holes in her knowledge after she's done.
-[x] Give her the offer of providing free grief seed cleansings to her and her group, in return for...lets just say favours. Give her time to consult with her group. Don't rush her to a decision.
[x] Telepathy Rin. Ask for her location, provide quick summary, ask if she needs help.
[x] Once the University group gets here:
-[x] Consult with everyone on our next course of action
-[x] Point: We want to heal any civilians.
-[x] Point: We want to gather the incapacitated girl's bodies
-[x] Bring up the idea of letting Sakura go to help out, but don't force the issue if they seem reluctant.
-[x] Go ahead and execute once we've got a definite plan.

[x] Run the basic outline (gather at the radio tower to discuss what to do now, suggest recruiting Sakura to collect incapacitated meguca more quickly) of the plan by Mami. If she has no objections continue on, if she has any suggestions incorporate them.

I make that 7/11 CG/NSMS.

I'm getting kind of lost. What's wrong with "Hey, we'll clean your gems and seeds when you need it, under the condition that we can be friends and you don't abuse the priviledge" and then smiling and flaring Witch senses with the most innocent face?

It's not devious enough. Clearly if your solution is that simple, you haven't done enough shadowrunning yet.

"Why travel 600 miles every week when we can get as many grief seeds as we can and do it once every two months?" Or the like.
We could put a limit on how many seeds we cleanse per week. Maybe twice the number of people in their group or something. This gives them abit of a safety net and a benefit to making that journey every week, but it doesn't give them enough to let them just spam magic with impunity.

Frankly, I'm mainly opposed to cleaning the soul gems because that makes them overtly depenedant on us an encourages them to either ignore our services completely or move into Mitakihara to get easier access to soul gem cleansing. Neither of them are paritcularly ideal outcomes.

I apologize for this completely off topic post, but:
I considered 'leper colony' instead, but there was something a little more hilariously tragic about a third-degree burn clinic having a beauty pageant. But yes, Cripple Feels Simulator did occur to me.

We're just starting with the soul gems. Once we've established relations with them, we'll offer the grief seeds.

It would probably be better to limit the number of seeds we will cleanse. Enough to never have fear of running out, but no more. Eliminate the problem of escalating hoarding.

Funny thought

Sabrina (thinking): what is this...feeling? Is this....respect? I finally get some goddam respect? Oh Em Gee! What do what do? Gotta stay cool, cool like a senpai. Gotta channel the Mami.

Sabrina: Cough cough, ah yes. My dear, would you like to come over and talk this over with some cake and tea?

also:

Sabrina: When you say "Kuvira's down" do you mean she agrees with us?
Chouko: No I mean she is knocked out.
Sabrina: No, no, wait, you mean she is break dancing in the middle of the street?
Chouko: No, she is kissing the pavement. Cracking it even.
Sabrina: You mean she is a hipster?
Chouko: What? Are you brain damaged? NO!
Sabrina: She's depressed?
Chouko: NO! SHE IS UNCONSCIOUS, SLEEPING, IN A COMA.
Sabrina: She ded?
Chouko: NO! BUT SHE WILL BE! ARRRGGGGG

EDIT: Dang SV messing up my quote with previous unposted quotes and formatting and ARGgg

Wish: To get a better editor.
Wish: To heal the people she injured playing soccer (which is what it is called in Japan, shaddup).
Wish: That the flower owned by her dead cousin would bloom forever. Kyubey presumably spent the rest of the day laughing his ass off.
Wish: Teddy bear museum. This is canon and I hate you all so much.

Teenagers.

To be completely fair to Umika, that particular incident happened after her editor basically took her book, rewrote large sections of it (screwing up a major running theme in the process), and refused to get it published under her name (instead crediting it to an idol singer).

But fuck fairness, she's a fourteen-to-fifteen year old girl and the fact that an editor was willing to look her shit over at all is farther than about 99% of aspiring authors get.

I'd like to see the editing that was apparently bad enough that this girl saw no recourse other than to sell her soul to escape it.

Edit after seeing explanation: Oh, ok. That makes more sense. I was just picturing Enoby Dark'ness Dementia Raven Way being her beta or something.

To be even more fair, Kyubey doesn't tell these girls the fine print at all. So instead of going 'hrrm what wish would be meaningful and important enough that I'd sell my soul for it?' they go 'Free wish, no consequences? Fuck yeah!'
