Based on Askari's commentary, we may want to limit the cleansing to one to start with and adjust from there once we have a better idea of the situation in Tokyo. The current vote covers that fairly well, but we may want to spell it out?

Finished reading Kazumi Magica, among other things. Link to not post it here. Although I'll stick with "Sorry, but Walpurgisnacht doesn't drop a grief seed" as my favourite moment.

We should ask Sakura if that's why she keeps calling us Witch girl. It'll be like when Sabrina assumed Hiroko and Masami knew she was with Mami because of her clothes.

I also want to see how well Sakura deals with us going from Grief-bending terror to brain damaged meguca at the drop of a hat. :D
Sabrina: "I see your witch-girl..."
*Sabrina puts on resplendent golden armor with red cape*
Sabrina: "...and raise your references."
Sakura: "You don't make any sense at all."

We can always tell her that we are open for negotiation in regards to our cleansing services and ask her to contact us, if her group has reached a decision.

Except that just asking her (with adjustments implied by the act of asking, honestly, why would we ask without adjusting our approach as needed) shows that we value her opinion, rather than just assuming again.

That's only true if we change the plan based on her opinions. If we don't then it's a power play and dominance game.

Asking for her opinion inherently implies that we're going to adjust our plan as needed. Regardless, it's now been spelled out that we're adjusting based on her opinion.

Also, every mention of the addition has a side note saying that it's written with the exact opposite intent of that.

What @SWB said about trusting Mami. I'd definitely trust her with this though. She's got way more experience dealing with meguca fights than us. Presumably that comes packaged with experience regarding the surrender/aftermath talking bits as well.

That's fair. It's an angle I didn't consider. I don't really disagree with consulting here for your given reason, but this is a really complicated matter and if there's a risk of simplifying it I'm going to speak up.

Sometimes we're going to have to make the decisions outright. It isn't wrong to do so. Sometimes we're going to have to tap the experience of our friends. Sometimes, and this is what I feel we need to encourage the most, sometimes others are going to raise objections, be they from experience, or moral objections, or concerns for safety, or in pursuit of their own goals. And hopefully not too often, we are going to have to override those objections, but for good and well-explained reasons.

Consultation can only get us so far. Because this isn't about being inclusive, not alone. It's about being the kind of person that Mami and everyone else, for that matter, feels comfortable taking their own initiative with. Consultation is a very small part of that, but doesn't fully cover how we need to act. We don't want to be the ones asking first every time. It reeks of "you have permission to speak", even if I know none of you mean it that way.

-[] Give her the offer of providing free grief seed cleansings to her and her group (once each, at least for now), in return for their non-interference. Give her time to consult and discuss. Don't rush her to a decision.

The phrasing here needs work. Ueda just said she doesn't intend to interfere. We don't need to carrot that. Asking for their non-interference also makes us look far more insecure than we actually are.

[x] Run the basic outline (gather at the radio tower to discuss what to do now, suggest recruiting Sakura to collect incapacitated meguca more quickly) of the plan by Mami. If she has no objections continue on, if she has any suggestions incorporate them or remove parts of the plan as necessary.
;o

@SynchronizedWritersBlock
Frankly, the main value of that is that it doesn't have the word "Favors" in it.

Also, while we can go overboard- we've barely been asking Mami at all, and as pointed out, she's more experienced at this kind of thing.

Hmm... offer a single free cleansing as an apology for tying her up like that?
Ehhhh. Maybe, but that runs into the issue of us being a)in the "right" here and we don't want to concede that point to someone at least nominally allied with Sendai, b)just cleansing her once rather than her group.

Maybe
a)just say we'd like to cooperate with them and offer cleansings to them
b)spell out we'd want to make the same offer to other Tokyo groups in case sdj's shadowruns are accurate and they'd want to settle grudges

Cleansing just her right now is also a good idea though, and that would be a good part of an upcoming vote.

How's this?

-[]Bring up the idea of providing free grief seed cleansings to her group and other Tokyo groups in the future. Ask her to consult and discuss her teammates later. Don't rush her to a decision.

I'd rather Sabrina be willing to admit she's capable of doing something wrong, really.

@'Lement Uh, about that language list...Lebonese is a real language. Specifically, it's a variant of Arabic mixed with the indigenous language of the region that is considered different enough that I don't feel confident in translating non-Lebonese Arabic in full sentences (words, maybe). I should've clarified, sorry, but I didn't want to give the impression that I was competent enough at Arabic. I'll try, though.

Also, what Aeqnai said.

Yes, but not sure we should do it here and in this situation.

With Mami? Yes, of course, that'll be helpful and definitely called for. But the Tokyo girl was...immobilized briefly, and that's about it, and we acted proportionately given what we knew at the time.

Doesn't mean we can't show courtesy, and Sabrina has been acting too arrogant lately. Apologizing for the inconvenience isn't going to kill her.

@NSMS
More of a minor nitpick, but Chouko just asked us a rather important question.
If we consult with Mami beforehand our answer may take a while.
Maybe update them on the situation and tell them to meet us and while they are on their way, we discuss things with Mami?

Well, what are we trying to achieve by making an offer of any sort?

Broadly speaking, I think we're trying to decrease MGs reliance on grief seeds and witch hunting overall. We do this so fewer MGs die or witch out, and to a lesser extent, so they can live more normal lives.
But by providing MGs with more magic, we risk that that magic will be used fighting each other.

Witchbomb not included, why not just say that outright?

-[] Tell her that we're willing to cleanse anyone's soul gems and grief seeds, but only if they aren't going to use that magic to assault other Magical Girls or other nefarious purposes.

Hmm. Maybe something like "needless aggression or infighting" in the interests of being more specific?

Have edited vote to this:

[x] Reply to Chouko: Akiko's de-gem'ed and Sakura's captive.
[x] Keep Akiko unconscious
[x] Run the basic outline (gather at the radio tower to discuss what to do now, suggest recruiting Sakura to collect incapacitated meguca more quickly) of the plan by Mami. If she has no objections continue on, if she has any suggestions incorporate them or remove parts of the plan as necessary.
[x] Update Chouko. Ask them to meet up at the radio tower and pick up any bodies she finds along the way.
-[x] Ask her how bad the damage is.
[x] Ask Ueda for her side of her story. Explain after done.
-[x] Tell her that we're willing to cleanse anyone's soul gems (demonstrate/explain cleansing if necessary), but only if they aren't going to use that magic to assault other Magical Girls or other nefarious purposes.
[x] Telepathy Rin. Ask for her location, provide quick summary, ask if she needs help.
[x] Once the University group gets here:
- [x] Consult with everyone on our next course of action
- [x] Point: We want to heal any civilians.
- [x] Point: We want to gather the incapacitated girl's bodies
-[x] Bring up the idea of letting Sakura go to help out, but don't force the issue if they seem reluctant.
-[x] Go ahead and execute once we've got a definite plan.

I picked "assault" over "fight" because it was both quite clear that someone assaulting is the aggressor, and because it wasn't too specific.

We can get more specific, but we would need to figure out exactly what conditions we want to impose and, frankly, I don't think Sabrina is one to tolerate lawyering. We can shut down that possibility by keeping it vague.

But if we're too vague, it comes back around into the "favors" nonsense again- but I see your point.

You know, it wouldn't surprise me if we found a new magical girl or two with all the collateral. Maybe ask the UG to take them in in that case.

Wouldn't be too surprising, yeah, although if Kyuubey feels like it he could easily render any new meguca hostile to the UG and us (and since meguca-meguca conflicts = more chances of contracts and more magic used, he has a reason to).
