Devil's Advocate: Going slow could result in negotiations finishing and the combat team arriving. Showing up in the Mobile Oppression Fortress could intimidate them enough into backing out, especially if negotiations are not finalised.
I'm not buying the intimidation idea. We know Sabrina can be terrifying (the last few pages of soul searching certainly confirm that), but no one else knows the extent of our powers, and they'll attack anyway. Our power has yet to make anyone bow out before we had to fight. Keep in mind that all magical girls can be terrifying, in the right circumstances.
Anyway, threats will be made. I don't think we can do this without threats.
We have to be reeeeaaaalllllyy careful about that attitude, Onmur. We've done some dark shit in the name of neutralizing people with threats, let's not do it again outside of the simple "if you keep attacking people, we'll have to keep attacking you".

"if you keep attacking people, we'll have to keep attacking you".
Those are threats, are they not? We can keep it lightly, I guess.

It's just, I don't think we can convince them to play nice. We see what they do as wrong and they don't, either because they think it's just how the world works or because they're in denial. If we could get through them and have them accept that what they're doing is wrong, fantastic, but I seriosuly doubt it.

What? Confused. Clarify.
Doesn't it take conscious effort for Sabrina to form grief blades or coordinate an orchestra? If Sabrina's concentration is blindsided, like say hit in the shoulder with a mace and she's busy levitating a suit of armour a millimetre above her skin to move freely... then wouldn't the armour come crashing down and temporarily immobilise her in the middle of combat at the worst moment?
Counterpoint: We can take them on easy, and if we get sakura's gem, all the better. The mobile oppression fortress option will just cause them to run away and possibly allow them time to get the second reinforcement group.
We're trying to avoid a fight with an additional group if possible. Isn't getting them to run away what we want? Leaving us to paste Akiko and Sakura, why would they summon more members if their employer has been beaten? Assuming we can take them easy when we know nothing about them is a horrible idea that will get our gem crushed, there is always bigger fish out there.
Remember, Oriko is a precognizant, not a clairvoyant.
Could someone fully spell this out for me. Dictionary has not been helpful.
I don't know about you guys but I'd very much like to kick both Akiko and Sakuras ass within the next update or two.
Full agreement here.

Currently there's only one of them, why attack when you're alone? It would make sense to sit out if payment hasn't been agreed and your potential employer is being pasted in front of you.

Caveat: I do agree with quietly as well, I just don't think there was a full discussion.

After this, I think we need to shelve interventionist!Sabrina until we've figured out how to de-Witch meguca or have made some sort of Grief Seed equivalent we can pass around.

Not really? We do complicated background music basically on autopilot. We had an attack going against Sasami and Yumi that we paid effectively no attention to.

None of our constructs failed when we were getting flash bombed, either. Not saying that the armor takes literally no effort to maintain, just that the concentration needed is miniscule compared to what we've already demonstrated we can handle.

We mean that Oriko can see bits and pieces of the future, not whatever the hell she wants, in full detail. She can't just know the future at all times, or she would have beaten us before. She gets snippets of information.

Not really... We kept up our grief constructs through that whole fight despite getting an arm fractured, getting gravity slammed, etc.

Eh I'll drop it then your both probably right, just raising a possible concern. Also thanks for the clarifications. Does this mean we could be heading for a red herring that won't happen for a while?

While I most definitely don't want a fight, and perhaps "easy" was a bad word choice, but in the quiet scenario we have the element of surprise, and I really don't see us losing. We shouldn't be afraid of them just cause we don't know their powers.

As for the reinforcements, I was referring to Akiko, she has another 3 person group she can call. "Leaving us to paste Akiko and Sakura" Sakura will most certainly teleport everyone out before we can reach her in the "fortress" option. Really grabbing Sakura's gem is priority #1 and only the quiet option gives us any remote chance of that.

I know you are playing devil's advocate. So here , the discussion :)

I also would like to know what that whole Kato business really was about, if we can finally get someone talking when this whole thing is over.

One girl from the groups that the UG is affiliated with is an empath, if I remember things right.
Do you think she might be up for some therapy sessions for troubled magical girls?

And because I asked some pages ago, but didn't get an answer:
Do we know if the Fukushima girls know about the lichbomb?
Because if they don't, we just traumatized the fuck out of them by killing megucas left and right, from their point of view.

We really need to heal up Moe before we wake up Sasami, and Atsuko if she gets knocked out.

Almost forgot about Kato in all the confusion, but that should definitely be high on our list of things to bring up.

Also, let's just hope Fukushima already knew about that, because if we just lichbombed all their friends, someone on the sendai end might see it as appropriate to witchbomb one of ours... (not to mention the girls who just lost a fight being told about the Lichbomb will not be conducive to negotiations nor Sabrina's guilt).

Hopefully, Sendai is smart enough to realize that they'd die horribly if they did something like that. We would react poorly to something hurting our oujo.
Sasamia was pissed about our brutal beat takedown against Moe, the rest of them might think we just killed their friends until we revive them, and Akiko is angry in general and not terribly ethical besides...

Let's just see to it that it isn't apparent what Mami doesn't know; if for no other reason than to avoid a tragedy. The implied threat of full murderhobo probably doesn't reflect too well on us, either.

Or they think we have a knock-out power that requires contact with the target's soul gem.

Anyway, the UG were the ones who brought that tactic into play, technically, when they took Rin's gem.

Don't forget about our calls to Oriko. "Where are they now?"....."and now?"....."and now?"....."and now?"
"You incompetent moron! I've got the mother and father of all migranes here and every time you screw up and ask me to scry for you they pump out another generation of little baby headaches. So why don't you quit calling me for every tiny thing and use your own eyes like literally everyone else on the goddamn planet!"
"...well, that was rude."
"I don't care, now shut up and leave me be. I want to sleep until I no longer feel like gouging out my own eyes to relieve the pressure in my skull."
"Why don't you just ignore it?"
"Excuse me?"
"Just turn off the pain in your head."
"...what."
"Uh, yeah. Magical Girls can do that. Comes with the Soul Gem."
"And you didn't see fit to mention this earlier?"
"I thought you knew."

Disconnecting before Oriko's shriek of rage could really get going, you turn to Kirika, "Well, she's mad. Sorry about that, guess she gets grumpy when she's woken up."
"Oh my," Mami chimes in, looking like she's enjoying the Schadenfreude just a little too much, "is miss Mikuni not a morning person?"
"No. Wait, I mean, yes. Well ... not really." Kirika frowns in thought for a moment, then nods once firmly and says, "Tea helps."
You snort, barely resisting the urge to roll your eyes, and quip, "Of course it does."

Edit* Oriko: *Feel that 'I-should've-just-let-Akemi-shoot-me' intensifies*

....I'm pretty sure that Ueda isn't currently in the city at this point. If they really are from Tokyo, it's going to take them some time to get to Sendai, even with Sakura's teleportation powers they are not going to get here inside of five minutes. I believe that Oriko is talking much further into the future than the next half hour.

I keep thinking that maybe we shouldn't keep referring to it as the Mobile Oppression Fortress, but I can't think of another good name for it.
