I think in light of the info from Rebellion, Mami won't feel like the Witchbomb makes the situation hopeless and everyone needs to kill themselves.
If anything, I'd be more worried about her following the same logic as canon Sayaka and deciding that Madoka has to make her wish and become the Law of Cycles. But I trust Mami of all people to understand why condemning Madoka to an eternity of loneliness is too high a price to pay.

I'm trying to remember now, does Mami know about the loops? I have this vague thought that she does but I couldn't tell you when she learned it off the top of my head, can anyone else confirm or deny before I go trolling through the archives?
Mami knows about time travel, Sayaka knows about witches.

We can grab Sayaka and Homura at lunch to discuss how to tell Mami.
Please god no. Pre-discussion discussions are slow and ruinous for pacing. We'll tell them it's time to tell Mami and then they'll give their contributions in the actual discussion.

[X] How do you answer Mami?
-[X] Yep. I didn't want to say it outright with Yuki and Umika in the room.

[X] Yes

[X] There are other things I want to tell you I wasn't ready to say in front of the others too
-[X] According to Homura, last loop, Madoka wished that "Everything could be fixed."
--[X] Homura seems to think my presence is related to that wish.
--[X] A lot of things we shouldn't have been able to intervene to help with have been an option. I've taken this as her wish helping us along.
-[X] When we beat Oriko, she said she'd done it all to make sure I ended up working with Homura because "together we can change destiny".
--[X] If Feathers is Homura's wish acting on its own, it may be protecting her agency. I can change things, but she needs to "lock them in".

[X] Keep the privacy construct in hammerspace for possible use at lunch.
[X] Say all of the above, but say the yes in a completely normal manner that shows absolutely no surprise that Mami guessed correctly.

This is shorter.

It comes off a little flippant imo.
It's fine. We don't need a bullet point list of all the things we need to say, just the direction and intent, which that vote does perfectly: we aim to confirm what she says, and we let her know we planned to tell her anyway. Beyond that, we should give the conversation freedom to breathe and flow properly.

I can do that if you want.

-[X] I'd have told you later if you didn't put it together on your own.

[X] Boop her nose, smiling. "You are smart." Do elaborate.

You've made it less casual.
Okay. Then:

[X] Yep

I mean, I would question if this was even Mami if she didnt realize that.

...

She knows the truth about witches doesnt she?

We should also spell out for Mami that the reason Madoka was able to make her wish in the first place is because every time Homura loops her potential grows and we absolutely cannot tell Homura this or she'll have a potentially fatal breakdown. That's the last core detail we weren't able to mention in front of the others

Nope. We've been avoiding telling her that one. After this conversation, I'm less concerned about that than I have been. But we have not had that conversation with Mami yet.

Yeah see the thing is this just proves how smart Mami is, and how quickly she can make connections.

She literally has almost ALL the pieces to come to the conclusion that witches are magical girls, and the only reason I could see her now not knowing is because she is literally trying to avoid thinking about it all, closing her eyes and ignoring the truth.

Probably that yeah. We would've absolutely noticed spike in grief if she came to realization. That being said, may be its still just us, hindsight is 20/20 after all.

[X] HUG. Don't ask, just do.
[X] Confirm. Short, sweet, and unequivocal confirmation. For the love of all that is holy, tell her she nailed it.
[X] Ask for advice. We can't read people in because it's not our secret to tell, but in my opinion anyone that figures it out on their own is fair game.

["Last... last time. Just before this one," Homura says, shutting her eyes and taking a deep breath. "Madoka made a Wish, at the end. That everything could be fixed. And this time..." She gestures at you.

"That's kind of what my guess is too," you agree, nodding. "I'm... pretty sure I came into existence because of Homura, and Madoka. I've got some ideas for the details, some nice, some... not so nice. But." You meet Mami's eyes and smile, shifting your hand to capture Mami's hand. "That doesn't change anything for us, Mami. I have far more keeping me here."]

We already told Mami about this so we're just refreshing her memories here. Granted that's not a bad idea right now, but it might be better to just say that we are instead of using two bullet points for it.

Also, casual and cool as we might attempt to play it, no way can Sabrina not just be crazy relieved and giddy at getting this off her chest. We haven't had someone who can say " that sounds reasonable or "your overthinking this" or " this is how we can tell them" and it's kinda been the main thing that's been driving her nuts! And now that we seem to have resolved to tell her about the witches soon Sabrina will have gotten off her chest every secret that she's woken up with. She will be completely and totally transparent with the women she loves because the women she loves is so fucking awesome and brilliant and MAMI that she figured them out herself!

She won't be alone in this. She won't have to keep secrets forever. MAMI understands her mission in full and is going to help! She has someone to bounce off her crazy ideas! Someone she can talk to about the options that suck in her opinion but need to be considered Incase it's the best choice.

And man, how is Mami going to feel knowing what Sabrina knew before she even knew her name. Knowing all of her secrets and then putting that context to Sabrina's actions. That she saw the true width and depth of the horrors of the magical girl system and then made it her life's purpose to break it over her knee. A purpose that she has never doubted or complained about, never even considered despairing over, and despite how frustrating most magical girls make it never deciding that they were beyond saving. She has helped everyone around her, thanklessly and tirelessly and would have done so alone for an eternity with a smile!

And if that wasn't enough! she took care of herself and her mental heal, has been a truly excellent girlfriend, formed a magical girl alliance dedicated to saving the world, and most personally painful of all kept earth shattering sanity rendering secrets completely to herself until revealing those secrets were helpful to others. And she will never even register any of this as particularly special because the bar was set at Homura and Madoka and she hasn't even hit Mami yet.

Maminess might be Sabrina's new catch all term for extreme competence/awesomeness/brilliance/ perfect run, but Sabrinaness might be replacing Mami's vocabulary for incredible resolve/determination/dedication/faith/hope/love. And she's gonna realize that all that comes from a girl who's never had a birthday party, family event, or childhood in general. Frankly, I wouldn't be a surprised if she started developing almost Kirika levels of Yanderay-ness

For whatever it's worth, the situation is a little more complicated because of the time travel. The girls in the story are Madoka and Homura, but they aren't our Madoka and Homura. Yet, if they ascend to a higher plane of existence they might join with their other selves across space-time and become the people in the story anyway. I'm not sure how to communicate that in a vote though. Mami knows about time travel so she knows about people having different versions in different timelines, but explaining that last piece is beyond me.

We don't need to and shouldn't try. If it becomes relevant in the story, it'll get brought up when it's relevant. We don't need to cover every minute detail in every conversation we have, we just need to cover the salient points for this part of the story - that yes, it's Madoka and Homura - and then keep the story moving forward.

Agreed, all people need to know that if they reconnect with their godly selves we are all fucked. Well, may be not with Homura (arguable, 4th movie gonna clarify but I suspect her world's drawback that its slowly falling apart). With Madoka definitely fucked. Whatever, bad stuff happens to them and to us, dont do that. Clarifications about ours/not ours, parallel/previous/future/possible selves and etc are idle musings at this point. Interesting without a doubt but not really helpful nor relevant unless I am missing something.

So,
"It's Madoka and Homura, isn't it?" she asks.

[] How do you answer Mami?

- [] Bring Yuki with you, as planned
-- [] Lunch?
- [] Ask Yuki to reschedule slightly

Here's what I'd say:

Plan: Secrets aren't good for relationships

[X] Yes.
- [X] Side note, but you've gotten *most* of the story. The last bit is that infohazard that we've eluded to before. We're thinking about telling you soon, honestly we need to, and we've been debating it among ourselves for a while now and at this point we're just procrastinating because we're scared. Also, like this, there's a decent chance you've figured it out already- we'll confirm the validity like we did here if needed. Now's probably not the time, but please remind us later.

[X]- Yes, of *course* we're bringing our building girl to the roof lunch spot. Obviously.

Note: It's obvious that Yuki dislikes our habit of keeping secrets, so we should probably explain things a bit more to her if we can.

[X] - After, let's go back and have our Science Session with our matter transmutation girl.

Note: There's still that prisoner that asked to talk with us. Noting this so we don't forget.
