Also, wanting to avoid asking about the Ishinomaki group's makeup. We've already revealed that we know -of- University and Fukushima, but that we're in the dark on their actual makeup. Showing too much ignorance gives leverage for them to exploit as a weakness.
On the other hand, not knowing any of that info is an actual weakness that doesn't require anyone to exploit it.

We don't have to assume that Akiko is telling us the whole story or the full truth, but something is better than nothing.

[x] Telepathy Akiko: You'll be asking more about that later. But not in present company.
[x] What can you tell me about the Ishinomaki group?
[x] (To Akiko) Alright, what happened specifically? Rin was on her healing circuit. You we're conducting negotiations for...?
-[x] What happened and when did this suddenly break into fighting?
-[x] Who was Rin healing and did she finish doing so?
[x] How many groups are involved, that you're aware of so far?

Also, Sakura may have shut up mid sentence because 'haha just callously mentioning you 'popped' clones' is a bad thing to mention in front of your crush (Rin).

Agreeing with dirtnap on Sakura's line there. That, and she was about to say '-help killing them', and Rin still has a thing called 'a conscience' and would object heavily to that line.

Sakura would like to keep her Rin love points intact.

Oh, and it wouldn't hurt to ask where we got teleported to, in case Sakura reaches bitch threshold limits and leaves.

So... uhh...

Rereading the last entry...

What happened to the 1500+ grief marbles we deployed as grief mist?

We only recalled our wings.

"We've Got Hostiles" pt. 3
"I'll be asking more about that later. But not in present company," you send to Akiko telepathically. Her expression shifts, subtly. Out loud, you ask, "So, what happened specifically? Rin-" bottle green eyes flick over to you "-was on her healing circuit? You were conducting negotiations for...?"

"I was there t-to heal another independent," Rin offers. "Kato Setsuko."

Akiko tilts her head to indicate agreement. "I don't know how much you've heard, Miss Sabrina, but Ishinomaki and us have... not been on the best of terms, in recent years."

"I heard about it," Mami says, voice forbidding. With her arms still folded, she directs a disapproving, regal frown upon Akiko, looking down upon her despite their nearly equal heights. "You've been fighting back and forth for... two years?"

Akiko's face tightens. "We have, yes."

Sakura's scowl deepens, too, and her grip tightens on her katana as she stares down Kirika. The black haired girl gives as good as she gets, an unblinking, citrine orange glare and a feral smirk displaying far too many teeth.

"So how does a negotiation and a healing turn into a fight?" you press.

"They claimed to be suing for a truce, but attacked me when I got there," Akiko says, as if it's the most obvious thing in the world, her lips curling into a scowl. "During the negotiations... which were presumably a feint."

"You went to them alone?" you ask, disbelief colouring your tone.

"I'm still here," the bluenette says, waving at herself. Utterly confident of herself... or at least pretending to be.

You snort. "Right. So. How many groups are involved, that you know of?"

Akiko frowns, looking away, and then back at you. "Ourselves, the University Group, Ishinomaki, Fukushima... and Mitakihara." She nods, seemingly to herself, and then looks at you again. "I've answered your questions, Miss Sabrina. Answer two of mine: What do you mean, that you want to stop a war? Why are you here?"

[]Fair enough.
[]What do you think's going to happen when you've called your friends in and they've called in theirs and no one's going to back down? I don't want you to get yourselves and your allies killed. I don't want you to kill them or them to kill you, and I definitely don't want to see anyone else caught in the crossfire, especially if Mitakihara gets dragged into it.
[]I'm here to make sure your war doesn't turn into our problem. I'd like your cooperation for that. (But we don't need it.)

Ugo, I can already see Akiko's response to that. It goes something like "You've already made it your problem by steping in." and probably a few jabs involving the phrases "Brain damage" and "Messiah Complex" from Mami and Sakura. Not exactly the kind of image we want to project to the Sendai crew.

@Ugolino

That is way too hostile for what we're trying to do, which is be diplomatic.

Elaborating a bit: We're trying to be diplomatic overall- but for the purposes of this conversation we want to discourage questioning, do something about the perception of naivete cannon mentioned in the previous post and make it clear we're the ones helping them here. A little bluntness when we hold the upper hand would work.

Okay, guys, step 1, we need to has out Sabrina's precise motivations for intervening? As far as I can tell, our reasons basically boil down to these:
Oriko's predictions states that if we do nothing, this war will result in unacceptable consequences, including witches, massive property damage, civilian casualties, and the natural disaster/pseudo walpurgis that will follow in it's aftermath.

We have the power and knowledge to change things for the better, and thus don't feel comfortable with holing up in Mitakihara and wait for this war to blow over.

We made our wish just so we can prevent megucas from witching out, and this war looks like it is going to result in a massive truckload of them. Sure as hell ain't going to let that happen if we can help it.

General social responsibility/from the goodness of our hearts reasons.
Step 2: Now that we've nailed down our motivations, what do we feel comfortable with telling Akiko? What kind of Image do we want to present to them?

Oriko's futuresight is definitely out, though relaying the information that we gained from Oriko can be done as long as it is plausible that we obtained it from a means other than Futuresight. Rook's vote is definitely workable in this regard, but not something like, for instance, telling them that 13 of them are going to die if this continues.

Anything to do with witches is also a no go. Regardless if Akiko already knows about the witchbomb or not, Mami's presence makes going anywhere near it a very bad idea, and talking about it through telepathy is problematic for a number of reasons. Revealing that we know about the witchbomb is basically an invitation for Kyubey to show up, and we do not need him right now.

We can try to push the "Good Samaritan" angle, but that didn't go over so well the last two times we tried it, and being viewed as the naive newcomer with more power than brains probably won't do any favours for our negotiating position. It'd be consistent, sure, and depending on the approach we are taking it can be beneficial to let them think that they can manipulate us easily, but I don't quite feel comfortable with that.

As of present, I feel that Rook's vote is the best answer we have. It doesn't reveal Oriko's futuresight, and it doesn't go full on "Naive newbie" while still more or less stating "Yes, we are here because we don't like seeing people die". Until something better appears, that will be the vote I'll be going for.

Workable and less hostile to the Sendai group if we don't want to discourage the prodding.
