We should still bribe him and tell him not to tell Sayaka.
That's the facts. ; )
First, a question, do we discuss metaknowledge with Fukushima? With Anri?
To the extent we need to, it's a reasonable risk. OTOH, we aren't planning to reveal the how-and-why of our knowledge. Only the critical facts, and a blunt deflection if they want to dig further.
In the case of our understanding of the Soujos and theirs being compared, we just let them go first. We only extend any of it if there is a need. Wizards use knowledge as a tool, and we certainly don't want to give too much away to Kyuubey. He already knows we have information that should not exist, but never gets a chance to place limits on the scope. We do have to share more with Yuki.

Yuki has some things she isn't talking about, and so do we. As long as we are not keeping secrets in bad faith, we can negotiate a happy relation.
Ooh I like this idea-- maybe write up a list of bullet points, and Yuki can go over them on her on time and brainmail us with any questions?
That works.

Re: Mention that we are investigating body construction. If we want to have a great cover story, let's make it great in the way they'd like.
When we talk about Soujo's appearance, first we get tactical advice. Then we muse on our desire to safely re-house her Soul Gem. Since we understand her to be a mortal threat, our victory might not leave much to heal - it'll probably be easier to start from scratch. Ask about making bodies. Enjoy toxic levity from the room full of mercenaries?

Talk with Anri
#Make the entrance. Greet, offer to take her hand right away.
(Both as an honest signal of our big plan, and to exchange contact. As time goes by, we need to keep that up. As much as we play the hug card for fun and style, to a girl locked in solitary lack of contact is serious. Don't expect her to understand it for us, it's our job to figure this out till we get help.)
#If she wants to talk about something right away, we go with that first. Talk about her past when done.
#Or we start first, and ask her to remember things and tell us about the past. "It's two years ago, the same date. You just woke up. Tell me each thing about that day." Don't be expecting eidetic memory from this, it's a prompt to get the "normal" past from before her Wish - and before she met Yuuri as the main subject.
#She might waffle to get off the subject perhaps. Try to have a little of this talk anyway. The past is a reference point we should strive for. She wasn't nuts then, and that is no small issue. She's lucid enough to participate in this step, I'm guessing.
#Get as much of this story as we can for now.
#At some point we will be talking about how our theory of de-witching is going. Stress how each step is experimental, and that we are proceeding with care to neither block our own success, nor risk disaster. Our failure would leave Witches stuck as they are, and leave Magical Girls to the fate Kyuubey gave them.
# [] This project must be secret for as well as she can keep it: Kyuubey profits from magical girls becoming witches. The more he learns, the easier it will be for him to mess with it.
#Explain Grief is not the only emotion in play - all emotion is magic, and that is our lead theory.
#Our current thought is to re-start the emotions of a Witch by having a Magical Girl send them into her Seed.
#Anri will be asked to do things, and cooperate with us and other people we will bring to her. The aim is to have Anri rebuild all the good parts of her friend, with feelings she has herself. This will take time.
#Demonstrate Hope magic in front of her.
#We will also need her to learn ordinary meditation, and further practice enchanting. She might have to practice healing others many times.
#The path to untangling the greatest of curses, is going to require a Magical Girl who excels when she is dispelling evil. That starts with her own.

Obviously there are ways to improve the outline, and I would like to see how wrong I was. Please take a whack at the Anri conversation. Make it more likely to succeed!
The intent I'm chasing is to build a way for her to accept the complex changes we intend to make in her life. Therapy isn't the sort of captivity she was expecting? We have the power to try it, but it's effective when she permits it. Demonstrating Hope magic is a goal statement, and a proof of our work-to-date. At some point, we should consider giving her other experiences in our Grief science, as we present her with further treatment tasks for herself. For her contribution to matter, she has to work harder on mental health.

"Travels with Mugin - An Un-Familiar Story"

Because we are watching a bird cleverly subvert the longstanding RPG trope. Sabrina is just chock full of system-breaking.

We could manually turn exhaled carbon dioxide back into oxygen.

Do magical girls even need fresh oxygen? We should keep an atmosphere, just because I imagine decompression is uncomfortable, but having that atmosphere be breathable seems more like an extra luxury.

(We can probably just keep big bubbles of air in our hammerspace and cycle the air out that way, too.)

Well, you know what they say about luxury and gay space communism. It's all automated.

I'm not sure what happens to Meguca if she just keeps not breathing, but nothing good, I think?

See, Homura went on an insta-noodle spree, since she couldn't be bothered to eat properly, and despite magic, she's still malnourished. Logic would suggest that with prolonged oxygen deprivation, the immediate problem would be braindamage wait, that's right, braindamage.

Which will get instantly healed by magic, only to get damaged again, repeat ad infinitum. Not an ideal situation for a romantic date on the Moon, or anywhere else.

Wouldn't that have more to do with her pre-meguca poor health? I know from Homura's perspective she's been eating nothing but instant noodles for 15ish years, but from her body's perspective I don't think she made it even a month on that diet before we got Mami to step in.

That's why I say "malnourished" and not "starved". Just a month on insta-noodles is still a month on insta-noodles. Trust me, not a really pleasant way to live.

Indeed. It's mentally exhausting as well. Both because you're only eating instant noodles and also because the body isn't balancing itself out right screwing with the brain because you're only eating instant noodles.

Must be just another facet of the Incubator's long con. Imagine it's late 1957. Some girl with low potential is selected as grist for the system by an Incubator, and she is really focused on everyone's possibility to share noodles wherever they are. The flavor was a cherished memory of hers. As per the blueprint, her Wish is granted - not by spontaneous worldwide noodles, but as the seed of an idea in the mind of Momofuku Ando. Indeed, her favorite noodles become a global phenomenon. She does not live to see this, nor bear the extra regret when it is discovered that the instant noodles subtly destroy the people who eat them.

"We've seen worse, since then," Yuki says, and sighs. "I don't tell you this to intimidate you or to dissuade you. Besides, I suspect that it'd do little to accomplish either. My point is simple: this is a dangerous field to explore. Maybe because those who try almost inevitably do so on the heels of some unfortunate revelation, but even so..."

I don't mind what happened here -- not one bit -- but this is why I was saying what I was saying lol.

[] Straight to Anri
- [] How do you approach her?

[X] Anri

Right, so, Anri... major risk is that she doubts us and thinks we aren't seriously committed to this. To deal with that, we should open with our ante on the subject, then deal with everything that isn't "anyway, try to fix your crush."

-[X] Plop Aurora down in front of her, explain everything we've done to and know about that seed.
(1)
That's the ante, the buy-in, the whatever you want to call it. It legitimizes us to her. It goes first because it means she takes everything else seriously.

--[X] We want her help exploring dewitching. She wants Yuuri back. We have caveats.
---[X] Lay down the law about not doing insane or immoral shit with this.
----[X] Yuuri is depending on her to not create a giant fusion witch out of her soul. We are depending on her to not do anything particularly immoral in this process, because while we'd like to work with her, we are not going to compromise our morals to do it.

Thoughts?

(1) -- if Aurora isn't the clear seed that we pushed emotionally charged magic into and got a response from, then I've got the wrong name here

Airi probably needs a more general introduction to what witches are, to be honest.

We don't know exactly what Oriko told her, but remember - she originally thought Yuuri witching out was something the Pleiades did to her, not something intrinsic to all magical girls.

Not Oriko, whatsherface, the girl we still sort of need to check up on maybe in that one place

But uh, yeah, this is a very good point.

[X] Anri

-[X] Catch her up to lichbomb and witchbomb status as needed. The damage here is done; what matters is making sure she has clear and correct information.
--[X] Anything she doesn't believe, she's free to ask Kyubey and/or Yuki for confirmation as long as she doesn't let incubator spin some evasion and/or half-truth and/or etcetera.
-[X] Plop Aurora down in front of her, explain everything we've done to and know about that seed.

Improvement?

Edit: ACTUALLY IT TOTALLY WAS ORIKO IT WAS JUST ALSO HIJIRI A LITTLE BIT

Both Oriko and Kanna Hijiri would have given her information, potentially conflicting information. Hijiri to aim her at the Pleiades, Oriko when she negotiated with her for us.

"Anyway. What can you tell me? Go over what you talked to Anri about?"

"Certainly," Oriko says, nodding. "As you surmised, her mind and opinions had been poisoned by Kyuubey. I didn't try to dissuade her of most of them - there was no point, and it would have taken far too long."

"Fair enough," you say, rubbing your chin thoughtfully. You might have to come back to that at some point. "So... does she know? About our Soul Gems, about Witches? She should, all things considered, but y'know. Outside considerations, confirmation and all that."

"She knows," Oriko confirms. "And among other things, she believed that the Pleiades had the ability to transform magical girls into Witches. She was rather intent on gaining that ability for herself, in fact. I have not been able to disabuse her of..."

Oriko holds up a hand, frowning. "I apologise. Allow me to qualify my success - I couldn't go into detail without the privacy here. I have not been able to convince her to set aside her perceived vengeance on the Pleiades Saints. I have convinced her, in order, that Witches arise from magical girls without human intervention, and that the Pleiades do not have the ability to force magical girls to become Witches."

"Right," you say, frowning. "I'm sensing a but."

"Just so," Oriko agrees. "She still blames the Pleiades Saints for Yuuri's death. Even knowing that the Pleiades did not cause her to turn into a Witch, she sees the fact that it happened at all to be a sufficient cause, let alone that the Pleiades did kill her Witch. She is quite, quite hysterical."

"I..." you scrabble for words, for understanding. "So that Yuuri Witched out at all was the Pleiades' fault?"

"In a word, yes," Oriko says with a delicate shrug. "Bear in mind that the grief is fresh, and kept close to her heart. I've also managed to convince her that Clear Seeds are not particularly unique. I've informed and given her Yuuri's Witch's Grief Seed, but she is not completely convinced that that is in fact Yuuri. And since the topic has come up..."

She reaches into the folds of her voluminous skirt to withdraw a Clear Seed - Hildegard, which she hands back to you.

"Thanks," you say, tucking the Seed away. "But if she demands vengeance on the Pleiades still, then..."

"She is willing to surrender in the face of a promise to bring Yuuri back," Oriko says. "I took care to impress on her that it was not guaranteed, but she seized upon the idea. She... cares more for her friend than she does her vengeance, and is willing to compromise for her. It's the only thing that Anri was willing to grant."

Here's my vote, cribbing from Kai:

[X] Yuki:
-[X] You'll talk to Anri first, but you do have more to discuss with her and her team later.

[X] Anri:
-[X] You've made some progress on helping Yuuri.
-[X] Lichbomb and Witchbomb her as needed. The damage here is done; what matters is making sure she has clear and correct information.
--[X] There's dozens of magical girls that can confirm everything you've said, including Yuki.
-[X] Plop Aurora down in front of her, explain everything you've done to and know about that seed, and how it ties into de-witching.

[X] You want Anri's help exploring dewitching. She wants Yuuri back. You have caveats.
-[X] You *will* try to help Yuuri out. That's unconditional. What's not unconditional is involving *Anri* in the process.
--[X] Lay down the law about not doing insane or immoral shit with this information.
---[X] Yuuri is depending on her to not damage her soul. You are depending on her to not do anything particularly immoral in this process, because while you'd like to work with her, you are not going to compromise your morals to do it.

[X] Temporarily remove the anti-magic, being cautious around her magic.
-[X] Demonstrate channeling hopeful magic into the seed, explain how it works, then let her try.
--[X] You suspect her positive memories of Yuuri will make the process more effective.
