Oh well. It's not like I actually expected Sabrina to haggle. That would have meant she has egotistical concerns other than mumihugs, and since mumihugs do not figure in the deal, ain't gonna happen.
Honestly? The vote said "err on the side of generosity". Sabrina knows that the first offer is usually high. Therefore, might as well cut to the chase and accept that as the generosity sought, no?
IMO, if we're gonna haggle, I would suggest that we pay Yuki entirely in gold.
That's the idea, actually.

...Maybe Shinobu (the girl) was named after Shinobu (the mountain).

( Aside from my joking, it is literally what I was expecting. From Watsonian perspective, what you said, and from Doylist, well, it wouldn't be very interesting to watch Sabrina haggle down to the yen. It's not that I'm complaining. Sorry if it sounded like I did. )

Maybe Shinobu the Mountain was named after Shinobu the girl?

Hmm. How about saying that Sayaka is the strongest one, just to see the look on Yuki's face? It's not like it isn't true, either. Soon, Sayaka, soon.
Urgh everytime I hear her as one of the best magical girl, it pains and annoy me.
I just can't stand the fact she's better than Sabrina with her physical skills and catching up with versatile skills that fast considering Sabrina's SV talent and no grief powers doesn't count.
You would think she take average time getting better even with Kyoko Bah!

I think this might be the single longest update I've written for PMAS. Hope it was worth the wait, and I'll happily take criticism on the fight scene in particular - I personally feel it could have been improved, but I wanted to get it out. So I'd love everyones' thoughts on it, if you have any!
Totally worth it!

Your previous longest update was the one with the SayaKyouko spar, which was almost 5k words... This one's longer by almost 10%! :V

Yeah, but I mean, Mami won that one time in the Rebellion. Sorta.
Actually, I still can't understand wholly what the fudge happened when Homura and Mami fought.

Before she left the room to make tea Mami stuck a ribbon onto Homura out of paranoia. That ribbon meant that whenever Homu went into timestop Mami was brought too.

Basically her timestop can be beat if you manage to compromise her before enters it somehow.

Mami tagged Homura while she was going to make tea, since she noticed Homura acting weird; the connection included Mami in timestop, and as long as she concentrated, every time Homura would try to sever the connection, Mami would have the Ribbon reform too quickly for that to work.

At the end, while the dust settles after their firefight, Mami casts Ribbon Clone without Homura -or anyone really really- noticing. Homura feints at commiting suicide -whether she actually shot her own brain has been hotly debated, let's not get into that- which causes Mami to panic and lets Homura finally cut the Ribbon keeping Mami in timestop.

Once Homura thinks she's won, Mami shows her who's boss.

Okay here goes:
Homura started acting suspicious, so Mami tagged her with an invisible ribbon. Then Homura stopped time and ran out with Nagisa/Bebe/Charlotte. Mami followed, inside the timestop due to her ribbon. They fought. Unable to take advantage of timestop, Homura was at a disadvantage. Then she decided to fake suicide as a distraction (she shot herself in the head but Magical Girls can survive that). Since Mami already thought Homura was acting erratic (accusing Bebe of being a Witch and reality of being wrong), she bought it and was distracted enough she wasn't paying attention to where the ribbon she had on Homura was. Homura's bullet severed their connection, leaving time stopped for Mami. Then Homura went for a non-lethal, disabling shot to the leg (though she almost went for a killshot out sheer habit and then switched targets). She had to start time again for the bullet to hit. Except... It turns out that at some point, possibly before their fight even started, Mami had swapped places with a clone made out ribbons. The bullet hit it and it exploded into ribbons that bound Homura. Then Mami came down and made a comment about it being nice Homura still had enough restraint not to try and kill her.

EDIT: Ninja'd.

Raiseth has been thoroughly informed.

And Yuki must have felt a tad inadequate, didn't she? Not only did she point out we could theorically won at the start, but she didn't manage to harm Sabrina despite her best attempts.

Just like when we hunted Gwen, Grief defense/utility is just OP.

Vote thoughts:

[] Haggle seriously:
-[] We can flash forge gold into more useful/salable forms.

Not sure how useful this is. The Fukushima group might be able to forge metal themselves when it's not part of their structures but if not, this could be a useful point.

[] Ask about other groups in town, volcano bases, and her relations with them.
-[] If they're on decent terms you'd be happy to cleanse them if they're available while your in town.

[] Have that Rin & Sakura chat

I think Homura is our most powerful teammate because timestop.
That and her seriously huge hammerspace. And her memory manipulation?

I think Homura would feel more secure having Sayaka copy the power to do that than leaving it to a relative stranger.
On this note, one of the things that immediately comes to mind for Yuki's offer is and making an evacuation route/logistics network for the Walpurgisnacht fight.

Sayaka may be a one girl Police Force, but Yuki is a one girl city hall (you don't win a fight against city hall, you earn a temporary reprieve... Unless you're Sabrina I suppose).

I liked the fight scene, by the way. It conveyed the sense we couldn't truly deal with and shrug off all of it. Either stops needed to be pulled, which they were, or we'd be stuck in a long, drawn out battle of attrition... which we'd win, since we managed to score hits and Grief defense is OP enough Yuki couldn't.

Though, just like we could just win by using overwhelming power, Yuki could have just teleported away any time she wanted, so if we're ever in actual conflict with the Fukushima, we'll know how it'll go. It'd be a game of destroying bases until we can corner them, while the Fukushima would have to do whatever they can with that time limit.

At the very least, I'd say Yuki will thoroughly want to stay on our good side.

Hmm... Also, couldn't have Yuki teleported us, or our Grief? That would've been a way to get through the Grief defense, or even if she could do that phasing trick in melee... phase through and hit the inside.

Of course, that would be pretty damn difficult to pull off against Sabrina without getting pancaked for it, and unless she targeted the Gem, it wouldn't actually have that big an effect. Wounds against Yuki at least have an effect, but Sabrina can fly.

She's also a Nidus Network. :D

[] Well, if she insists...
-[] What?! 500?! You've already got three mouths to feed and you haven't even been accepting refugees for a week! No, you can't in good conscience go over 300.
-[] Though maybe if she threw in letting our teammate copy her power that might help us offset future costs?

Isn't that a TTS thing? Is there reason to think she might have memory manipulation here?

The memory manipulation is the power she gets in the wraith universe as a result of promising to remember Madoka. So she doesn't have it here (barring various fringe theories) but it is canon.
