This seems like a very bad thing to say. Remember, all Oriko wants is to stop Madoka from contracting.
Oriko has her own agenda, and that agenda is not, I will say it again, not to murder Madoka. It is to save Mitakihara and the world, yes, but does not currently involve at any point Madoka's death. That can change, but not at the moment. She is still antagonistic to you and the rest of the Mitakihara crew. Anything more, I'll let you figure it out on your own. As it is, I've said a lot. EDIT: Oh, and you're free to meta away with this hint, as with the others.
I see little reason to believe that all she wants is to stop Madoka from contracting, or she wouldn't be an antagonist. We have no idea what saving Mitakihara and the world entails in this quest.

Right, sorry. I was thinking of Homura's experience with Oriko, and how she would perceive us saying that.

Entanglement pt. 16
"Because I'm not insane like a certain precog?" you say drily. You're not actually sure Oriko's insane, just an extremist. But still.

Homura doesn't comment on that.

"I told you the truth as soon as I could, and really, who else could I tell, here and now? Madoka and Sayaka aren't puella magi, Mami... well, you know. And I'm certainly not telling Kyuubey or Oriko," you continue. "I've been trying to help. I want everyone to live through this, you know? And that includes myself. I don't want to die. You could easily kill me." You indicate the pistol she's holding in her other hand.

You sigh, and look away. "Ultimately, the only thing I can give you now are words. I've been trying to help. To get you on better terms with Mami, with everyone. And... anyway, what can it hurt? If I'm lying, you reset time again, and start again. Maybe I'm there the next time, maybe I'm not. You can do... whatever. And one more person can only help, right? I know what you've gone through, Homura. Not all of it... but I know you haven't had much luck, else we wouldn't be having this conversation."

Homura squeezes her eyes shut, looking surprisingly vulnerable with her brows furrowed as if in pain. You look away, giving her a moment. Instead, you look around at the frozen city hued in grey. The most remarkable thing is the silence. The only thing you can hear are yours and Homura's breathing, and the slow thunder of your own heartbeat. Nothing else. No cars, no working machinery of air conditioners, none of the nearly inaudible hum of street lights...

Cessation of everything, time and all. Here then is a solution of Zeno's paradox; here is the infinitesimal time between moments in which things can happen. Here is the discretization of time. How does that even work, you wonder?

Finally, the timetraveller responds, voice and gaze now steady. "Very well. Don't make me regret this."

Relief washes over you, and you feel the knot in your shoulders easing. "I won't," you say as earnestly as you can. "I want you to succeed, Homura. I want everyone to live; this time to tell for all."

Homura... doesn't quite grimace. Her lips pull in such a way as to suggest that, though. "If, as you say, you know of what's been happening, then you know that that may not be possible."

"Mami in particular," you nod grimly. "You've never run into anyone with my powers, though, have you?" You hold up your right hand for emphasis, reminding her of what, precisely, you can do. "Speaking of which, do you need...?"

"Not yet," Homura demurs. "And I have not. You are an anomaly, Sabrina, like Oriko. I- I've never seen you before."
Why the stutter?
You cock your head, reminded of something. "Speaking of which. Why isn't Oriko dead? I figured you'd kill her after... what she did."

"I did, for a while. But I noticed, a few loops later, that I didn't have to waste my time on it; she would simply never contract by herself. I'm not sure why she and Kirika contracted that once, but I just stopped bothering," Homura says. "It was-"

"-an anomaly," you finish. "And you've never seen her contract again?"

"Not until this loop," Homura confirms.

"Strange," you comment. Very strange indeed.

Hmmm. What to ask her indeed...this isn't the first Oriko loop, so their powers might be and probably are a little bit different.

That stutter... Has she seen us before? Or is the stutter because she hasn't seen us before, and she has trouble dealing with new developments after so long?

Take it from a Certified Orikologist; these results are definitely out of the ordinary. Normally, her magic is somewhat wild and uncontrolled.

And yes, this applies even when she isn't transformed. That's why she only fought once in the whole series, and that's also why she tends to griefspiral so quickly. It doesn't appear to be an easy fix, either; the above panels were a scant two weeks before Walpurgisnacht.

This version of Oriko, meanwhile, appears to not have that issue. She was able to waste potentially hours on that one bus ride, without visibly weakening or even showing worry. It's not something she's trained out, either; remember, this Oriko had been contracted for only a few hours.

It stands to reason, then, that for some reason, Oriko's potential has spiked enough in this timeline for her to have a tight leash on her powers.

[x] "So... I think I may have stopped Charlotte from appearing? Or maybe not. It's odd. The girl that would become her hasn't even contracted and it doesn't even look like Kyubey has talked to her yet."
[x] "But not just that... Hitomi received a suspicious injury today. I wanted to ask her about it, but well I haven't had much of an opportunity and technically we've never even met."
[x] "...Anyway, I think Mami is warming up to you. Inviting her on a hunt today was a good idea. I think we should do it again."

*grumble grumble grumble*
Can't say i'm happy with this explanation, but i definitely understand the reasoning.

"OK, so..." you trail off, a little uncertain as to what to tell Homura. "So I've prevented Charlotte from appearing, I think. Sort of, maybe?"

Homura cocks her head quizzically. "Who's Charlotte?" she asks, stumbling slightly over the unfamiliar syllables.

"Oh. Uh, the little doll Witch that has a big worm thing inside?" you explain, mentally smacking yourself. Of course, she wouldn't really know the names of Witches, would she?

"I see. I've never tried that before. How did you do that?" Homura says, a hint of interest entering her eyes.

"Uh... that's why I said sort of," you say. "OK, so from what I know, the girl, her name's Momoe Nagisa, contracted because of her mother. But her mother died yesterday, and she isn't contracted. Kyuubey apparently hasn't even found her yet."

Homura's lips thin. "I haven't seen the Incubator since yesterday. And-" you're already shaking your head, anticipating the question "-you haven't either."

"And neither has Mami," you confirm. "That's not a good thing, is it."

"No."

The two of you sit in silence, for a moment, mulling over the lack of white bunnycat. It should be relieving to not have it poking its face into everything, but somehow, it isn't. At all.

"Another thing. Today, Hitomi's accident...?" you begin tentatively.

"I doubt it's an accident."

"Kirika?" you guess.

"Likely, but I don't know for sure. I was w- following Madoka, at the time," Homura says. "You're aware that Kirika goes to Mitakihara Middle School, correct?"

"Yes, I am. You'll be keeping an eye out for her, I assume?" you reply.

"Yes. Since you don't need to go to school..." she lets you finish the sentence.

"Oriko? I have no idea how I can find her, though, and I'm worried about fighting her, honestly," you say.

"I know where she lives," Homura replies. "And she's not very strong in combat."

"Assuming she doesn't have any preparations, or have Kirika near by?" you counter.

"I can keep an eye on Kirika. And she doesn't, as far as I know, have any Yakuza contracts or anything, so traps are... unlikely," Homura explains.

Huh. That... might work, you have to admit.

"I'll think about it," you say. "Anything else?"

"You know where and when to find all the Witches, correct?" Homura says.

"Uh, no, sorry," you admit, pushing back your hair again. You can see how she arrived at that conclusion, given that you'd been showing, up until this moment, apparently encyclopaedic knowledge of the Witches. "I only know of some significant ones."

"That makes things a little harder," Homura frowns, looking a little disappointed. "But I can make a list of approximate locations and times of Witches. If you can defeat them, we can try to starve Oriko and Kirika out."

"I can try that, yes," you reply. You're a little unhappy with it, since you've never even tried to defeat a Witch solo before, but the idea seems sound, and you certainly seem to have enough raw power to spare.

"I'll pass you the list... tomorrow, then," the time traveller nods. "I don't think I need to tell you that the list must be kept away from the Incubator."

"Of course," you say. "Oh, uh. Speaking of Witch hunts, I think Mami is warming up to you. Inviting her on that hunt today was a good idea; we should do it again."

"With Oriko around, that may not be tenable," Homura frowns, looking aside. "I can see the use, though."

You grunt. "Yeah, I see your point, too. Still, you want Mami fighting with us for Walpurgisnacht, right? She's powerful, and experienced. This is the best way to do it, I think. And maybe you can try to be a bit friendlier to her at school?"

Homura grimaces unhappily. "I know. I'll need to think about this."

The two of you sit in silence for a long moment.

"Is there anything else?" the time traveller asks, eventually.

Homura has ideas! Of course, they need not be the best ideas.

Either way, the next update will wrap up the night, if all goes well. So if there's anything else you want done before that...

...Starving out the precog and the psychotic who'd do anything to keep said precog alive. When, in another timeline, the psychotic cleared out an entire city of its local magical girls without breaking a sweat...and didn't even bother to farm the Witches afterwards.

Yeah, I don't see starvation working out that well.

[x]H.N. Elly, the TV witch. Give her what little we know and ask if she knows where it'll be- mention the group suicide in a warehouse at night a few days from now and that some of the victims'll pass through a park.
[x]We can try starvation-but if Oriko knows what we're doing and Kirika had no problems clearing out an entire city's local Puella Magi originally...
[x]It's good to be working with her. We'll see her later.
[x] "...How do you do the hair-flip thing? Seriously, is it magic or something?"

[x] Oh yeah, just before I contracted, for a moment Madoka's eyes looked golden. Don't know if it means anything or if it was just seeing things from bloodloss though.
