The thing is, I think we need to stop setting aside "days" of R&R between each task. It's time that we don't have. After the Asunaro business is settled, or at least stable, next time Mami's in school we should use that time to travel to wherever-the-fuck-Suzune-Magica-takes-place and at least stabilize things there so that mentorguca doesn't end up dying before we get around to her.

Hmm.

Given Sabrina's skewed perception of time, the rest time between fights could be compressed from weeks to hours.

So I'd be up for hitting Suzune-Land tomorrow.

Who, if anyone, would we take along, though?

Yuma and Nagisa. Field trip! :p

Actually, offering to watch Yuma for Kyouko for a while might not be a bad call; gives Koko some "me time" and gets the little one out and seeing the world a bit more. Maybe later we should see about getting her back into school? If it comes to it, getting her a new identity is easy enough.

Most of the crew will probably be at school when we go, but if mentorguca is still alive then there shouldn't be any serious threats there. (Of course, our information may not be reliable.) We could take the new girls, since they're not in school, but they're kind of unknown quantities and probably need some time to recover from their loss.

Depending on the state of mind they're in, the new girls may jump at the chance to do something.

Emphasis on the "may" of course. And the "Depending on the state of mind they're in".

And I will be pushing to take somebody with us. It's my natural paranoia. Hopefully, everything will be fine, but it's best to prepare for the worst.

I suspect that Kazumi & co. will be cutting their visit short to be with their team after this incident, otherwise I'd suggest taking them with us. We could take O&K, maybe?

I'm not sure how the buddy system would help against Hinata's mindfuckery unless they have a way of protecting themselves from it.

If nothing else distance and overwatch should help; I doubt Hinata can mindwhammy someone she doesn't know is there.

As far as bringing Yuma into danger... I can wholeheartedly agree with sentiments to "protecc teh loli" but Yuma is meguca regardless. Bringing her into Mindfuck city is a bit far, but I'd like to show her we trust her with big, adult things sometime soon.

That's implying Kyouko ever lets us handle childcare to begin with.

Remember, Kyouko is homeless, not stupid. She won't let us anywhere near impressionable, squishy, vaguely-ammunition-shaped children.

But, but, but! Miss Vee-zzle is the best dubiously-licensed omnidisciplinarian educator of impressionable, squishy, vaguely-ammunition-shaped children in the country! We can even paint the Incubator green so we have our own Suspiciously-Intelligent Iguana of Bacon Saving -2! (The real deal is +5; I think this one is cursed.)

Hindsight being what it is, Mizz Frizzle is clearly a mage with five dots in driving....

Because the witch-name check is too good an idea not to include when we are so much as in the city where a clone-maker might be. Hopefully @Redshirt Army is willing to add a line or at least say why not?

Not sure how we really can avoid maximum-speed Gilamesh Chess Gambits if the canon mangas really do have all of their events set so close together like this. Its hard enough to remember as players that only a week or two has gone by in story when we keep pushing on things like forgiving O&K, but the schedule seems to limit our options there.

  • [x] Ask the power copiers to try copying the privacy sphere before you drop it.
[X] For ease of regrouping, flyers should search the most far away areas.
-[X] Ask Niko to clarify. Search whichever place she's got in mind. Industrial area, maybe?
[X] Ask everyone to remain in continuous contact with someone in another group.
-[x] Include people capable of multitasking in all status updates.
[X] Ask if they know possible culprits we should look out for?
[X] Remind everyone to call and regroup if possible before engaging. You want to find out why this happened to better prevent a repeat.
    [X] Before going:
-[X] Ask who was shadowing Niko on your first visit.
-[X] Explicitly offer the Fog and MoF to the power copiers. Local omniscience and an extremely fast flight ability will be useful for searching.
--[x] Suggest that everyone else offers powers for copying as appropriate given time pressures. Keep an eye on the Sayaka/Kirika situation but don't push anything at all.
-[X] Have Umika do her mental protection
-[x] Check everyone's witch names for better identification.

-[X] Give the copiers Carte Blanche to copy our magic. Please, copy. Start with the Fog, Privacy Sphere, and MoF.
-[X] Telepathy to Sayaka: We know she has good reason to dislike Kirika, but hope she'll still be willing to copy her power. Anti-magic could be incredibly useful.
--[X] If she's still reluctant: Does she really want Kirika to be the only one who has such a dangerous power?
-[X] Have Umika do her mental protection
-[X] Ask Homura if she's willing to make periodic check-ins, every half-hour or so, as the thief also stole a memory-deleting device

-[X] We'd prefer if no blood had to be shed on this. If it does though, we want to hit them hard enough that they're never in a position to hurt our friends again.
    [X] Before going:
-[X] Doublecheck who was shadowing Niko on your first visit.
-[X] Give the copiers Carte Blanche to copy our magic. Please, copy. Start with the Fog, Privacy Sphere, and definitely the MoF.
-[X] If Kirika, Kazumi, and Sayaka are willing, we'd also be well-served by having anti-magic on as many teams as possible. One of the few powers that doesn't have much diminishing returns.

So... calling kids "vaguely ammunition shaped" is good parenting?

:V
Coming from the "Dad" part of the parental relationship, and as a joke? Sure.

The child abuse comes when we drop the vaguely and start trying to figure out how to fit Yuma into a canon and shoot her at WPN.

We'd actually be pretty good parents I think - SV is precisely the right kind of zany to produce a kid who's super innovative and creative, with just the right amount of SCIENCE and Science to drive them far enough into STEM fields to get useful skills, and if we look at our relationships with Mami, Homura, Kyouko... Even how we treated Nagisa; We're definitely caring when we need to be.

A perfect parent isn't much of a parent at all. <3
