Unless there's been a drastic change in Kazumi's timeline, Hijiri should be completely oblivious to the clone thing and shouldn't even be a magical girl at this point. If I'm reading the wiki right it was comments from Jyubey that made her go off the deep end. Jyubey doesn't exist here.

I'm almost certain the Wiki is wrong there, Umika replaced everyone's memories of Kyubey with Jyubey as she put up the "anti-Incubator Barrier" so all the flashbacks when 'Jyubey' manipulated girls into attacking the Saints are actually Kyubey talking to them.

Jyubey never made a contract, nor has he every been out of the Saints control since his creation.

You turn, and smile at the remaining group. "Well, my fellow truants," you say. "Shall we head home?"

"Excuse me," Kazumi says, in a manner you'd call diffident if it weren't for the impish grin on her face. "The Mami I knew wasn't a truant."

"Are you implying I'm a bad influence on her?" you say, faking outrage as you grab Mami's hand posessively.

"Maybe~" Kazumi says, still grinning.

"Sabrina is a good influence on me," Mami says, squeezing your hand lightly.

"That's what someone would say if they were under a bad influence~!" Kaoru says.

Mami pouts.

You can't see it, but I have this huge grin on my face right about now.

You're awoken by banging at the door. Your eyes fly open, and you bolt upright on your bed, Mami making a startled noise.

"Sabrina? Mami?" Kazumi calls through the door.

"What is it?" you scramble out of bed, yanking the door open to a dishevelled, panicked looking Kazumi. Umika and Kaoru are just behind her, neither of them in any better state.

"Um- sorry to disturb you but apparently Niko was attacked," Kazumi babbles. "Uh, her lab was broken into, someone stole her things-"

And there goes that grin. The plot appears to have arrived, ladies and gents... goody.

Sidenote: something I keep hoping we try every time we go into timestop: Grief "sounds of the city" projectors. If videogames can do it, so should we.

[ ] Calm Kazumi
-[ ] Telepathy Niko and ask her to memorize a password; We can't tell her why right now, but it'll be important very soon
-[ ] Inform the rest of Team Mitakihara of the developing situation.
-[ ] Ask Homura if she's okay with bringing the Pleiades into timestop - if not, then we're gonna have to bust some windows. Sorry Kyubey.
[ ] If it's not early enough, Mami's going to have to go to school. It oughtn't be a problem as long as we get there in time
-[ ] If Homura's not coming, then we'll bring Sayaka. If we're going there in timestop, then Sayaka's on Home Defense - She should be on guard, we have hints that there are hostile forces waiting for us to leave them an opening, and we need her to keep a sharp lookout.
[ ] Go to Asunaro. Fast.
[ ] Contact Niko in person and ask her the password
-[ ] Whether she gets it wrong or right, act like she got it correct and break for voting

As far as the last bit, I think that if the worst has happened and Hijiri has replaced Niko, it'll be better for us to pretend like we're fooled so she'll lower her guard.

I'd vastly prefer if Mami went to school, either to keep Sayaka company or just because of grades. Somehow I sense she won't want to do that though.

Homura's timestop, Homura's choice. She should be able to see that Team Pleiades will be valuable once Walpurghis Nacht shows up, so I think she will; on the other hand, her paranoia has bitten her before, and we don't have time to argue - we need to get that seed out of whoever's hands stole it. Especially if it's Hijiri. If you thought Evil Nuts were bad, imagine what a Clear Nut could do. Psuedo-witch half-guca gone mad, everywhere. Infinite power in the hands of a madwoman. Just utter chaos, growing bigger the longer she has a font of power to draw from.

If Sayaka's stuck at home, she'll feel useless. Best way to counter that is to suggest that we think someone may be waiting to strike a weakened or split team; which is somewhat true. Giving Sayaka a heads up will make her feel and be more of an asset to the Home Team.

Team Mitakihara, by the way, includes Mami, Us, Homura, and Sayaka. Hopefully, in a few days, we'll have properly and officially set up the Hotel and have a much bigger pool to draw from (that is, Team Mitakihara will become a smaller section of a whole, remaining our core cast but becoming a part of a larger coven.)

I'm not totally update to date on the various spin offs etc so I have no idea how anything has changed compared to what I can find on the wiki. So I'm thinking we should gather info first.

But also I'm thinking given we have two magical girl teams we should - if force becomes needed we split up as the Mitakihara Girls and the Pledies Saints. With maybe one girl swapped between them as a on point liaison to avoid delays in using telepathy?

Umm what Mitakihara girls to bring... Girls on hand:
Sabrina
Mami
Homura
Sayaka
Kirika
Oriko

I'd say bring Kirika due to her anti-magic. Though I wonder if bringing Oriko could be useful? I mean her combat skills are low but I feel like she needs to do more then stay at home. also she gains lasers at some point right? I mean the core trio of Mami-Sabrina-Homura is a must, Sayaka brings some versatility with her powerset.

Maybe also give Kyouko a heads up in case anyone tries to do a counter-strike? I mean Kyouko was a known assoicate of Mami's....

We definitely can't leave Homura alone for an extended period or she'll be potentialbombed. So she's a must if we're going on an extended mission. That being said convincing her to leave Madoka will be an issue.

Maybe assign Sayaka as her bodyguard? Dress it up as some kind of "Guardian of Mitakihara" role to make her feel better but basically leave her as Madoka's bodyguard.

That's not likely to work.

That's not likely to work.

How else do we convince her to come with us? Frame Hijara or whatever her name is as a potential threat to Madoka that needs to be dealt with?

Wait, what about giving Madoka a Mami chibi so if anything threatens Madoka she can know immediately from Mami and timestop to go deal with it?

Sayaka would probably do it if we dressed up "Being Madoka's Bodyguard" as "Being Madoka's Bodyguard" more than she would like us fibbing to her.

They're best friends, remember.

[X] Calm down Kazumi. Telepathy conference with Kazumi, Mami, Kaoru, Umika, and Niko.
-[X] Ask pointed questions: Is Niko hurt? Does she know what was stolen and broken? When could the robbery have happened, and had this happened before?
-[X] Ask everyone back at Asunaro to stick together.
[X] Check the time.
[X] Privately telepathy Niko. Ask her to memorize a password.

Maybe we could have a short update?

Also, Niko Kanna verification password. :V What could we make of it?

We left her alone for Sendai.

Just because it didn't fuck us over once doesn't mean we should try it again.

We weren't aware of just how bad the potential bomb was when we left her to do that. And Kyubey is only getting more, not less, likely to decide to resort to dropping the bomb as time passes.

And if Niko asks what all the password stuff is all about?

And if Niko asks what all the password stuff is all about?
Well, could we... not answer? Or say we'll explain later?

I mean, as long as she memorizes it...

Maybe it doesn't have to be a password. Just ask/tell her something, so later we can use that as an improptu password. We can ask her what we askes/told her back now.

[Q] Hey Niko, did you know Mami gives the best hugs? :V

So, in order for Niko to not be suspicious about the 'password', we need to privately ask/tell her something that has to do with the current problem.

Actually, if we need to set up a way to confirm Niko is Niko, we might want to get through this conversation first.

The password thing was probably pointless anyway. We should be able to tell Niko and her evil twin apart with our grief senses.

I legitimately, non-ironically, love that we have to deal with the "evil clone" thing. It's such a goddamn cliche, I'm actually chuckling about it. If the "shoot us both, it's the only way to be sure" thing happens, I'm going to laugh like a madman.
