We can give Sayaka a single fucking evening of personal space. if we don't ping her during the Koko-talk we should touch base before she goes to bed. Is that a good compromise?

You sound like Ugo, only he and I already talked about this exact thing and he was much less gloom-and-mud.
I'm just in a cynical mood, sorry. Anyhow, soon and direct make good olive branches for a person we've largely neglected lately. Hell, our neglect is what made her contract. It was to "give her space" that time, too. We didn't want to get involved. Sadly, I feel like Sabrina's greatest flaw is also a necessary one- being a nosy meddler is how she gets shit done in a group of people who hide away their vulnerabilities and don't ask for help when they need it. People like Madoka, Homura, Mami, Sayaka, and Kyoko will all brush you away even when they need help the most, because they're depressed teenagers with superpowers. Being meddlesome is kind of a good thing with them.

Well if you wanna learn how to befriend them like the best why not do it from the best.
Use grief to make a portal to Nanoha verse.
Aquire tutelage/friendship/pesudoaiwithmassdestructivetendencies.
Befriend everything and let Godoka sort them out.

This time she asked for it, though.
And all of our friends will ask for us to not try to help them in one situation or another. Like I said, meddling gets shit done. Hell, we're meddling right now, we just suddenly decided not to. Like, Oriko would like us to drop this conversation, but we're not. Cus it needs to happen. Why is Sayaka different?

A sudden flashback flashes in Madoka's eyes.

Madoka feels stressed.

Reminder we still haven't tried to mod our Warhammer into Graf Eisen. We could even be coy and call it Grief Eisen.

We let Mami decide what to do, and she didn't feel up to facing Kyouko right now.

I did sort of assume that if Homura would still go keep an eye on Sayaka, however. But apparently she wants to lurk in the trees outside instead, even though that serves no purpose whatsoever. And we still haven't given her a Clear Seed!

If we want to make some real progress with Oriko, we need to do something that her visions have shown her to be impossible.
That seems a stretch to me. We only need to prove that her visions are preventable. Which they are. Because we've already prevented visions of hers from coming true, several times. Which is something that I would expect us to remind her of if we were to actually discuss this with her.

Because we've already prevented visions of hers from coming true, several times.
For example?

Because the only times I remember Oriko's visions getting fucked up was when we hunted her down, and when 'Feathers' happened. Oriko panicked both times.

Every other time we were working within Oriko's visions to change from one future to another one she could predict.

When she sent us to introduce ourself to the Sendai girls, we didn't do what she thought we would. It may not be the most satisfying form of prevention, but it still shows that she shouldn't be fully trusting it.

We definitely give her headaches some times, when we take decisions outside the obvious, our future becomes more nebulous, harder to predict, but those futures are still kind of there.

The thing with Sabrina+Homura and 'Feathers' is that they outright change fate as far as Oriko's powers are concerned. It's why Oriko said she wanted Sabrina and Homura working together.

And by going by that, in order to change Oriko's mind we first got to change Homura's. Fun.

Any time that Oriko told us about a vision she'd had and we changed the outcome, we prevented that vision from coming to pass.

When we intervened in the war in Sendai. She was taken completely by surprise by our decisions.

When we caught her. And again when we let her live afterwards. She was not expecting it.

When we kept Sayaka from being eaten by a witch.

When we spooked the Sendai girls into not bailing on Masami.

These are all cases when things Oriko had foreseen didn't come to pass because we intervened. The only way that her visions of her death are different is because she doesn't want us to prevent them.

Oriko's powers show her many possible futures.

She's described it to an extent, and we really haven't messed with her visions anymore than she herself has done. That is, she see possible outcomes, doesn't like one, acts (or tells us to act), then gets another outcome she's also foreseen.

That's standard. All within the realm of possibility.

Now, the impossible, for her, is what her powers don't show her at all. Like us suddenly hunting her down -thanks to Sabrina+Homu combo- which she described as someone taking a sledgehammer to her futuresight and rearranging the pieces that were left; or the whole Feathers episode, which she described as someone dropping a curtain (of feathers) over her visions and rearranging everything before lifting them back up.

(I'm paraphrasing a little there, I'll se if I find the scene).

Those are 'impossible' acts, things that outright change fate in Oriko's futuresight.

EDIT: I found this, so I was confused about some details:
"It's like being in a glass room," Oriko murmurs, eyes distant and staring at the ceiling above. "I can see. Sometimes, someone breaks a pane of glass-" another look at you, "-but that gets replaced. Sometimes, a blizzard of black feathers blocks sight out and then rearranges the scenery. Now... the walls are closing in." She sighs, refocusing on you. "Describing powers is hard, and metaphor is imprecise."
And:
"I see you perfectly fine," Oriko counters. "It's merely that every time you act, changes ripple outwards. The shape of the future remains, but details differ."
-So we mess up the details in Oriko's visions, but she still can predict us, sometimes perfectly enough to blow us up with a bomb and a note.

-Feathers blocks Oriko's visions and changes things as they please. (And if Feathers gets to O&K, O&K die - this I remember).

-Homura and Sabrina working together can 'change fate' - this is what Oriko said her purpose was when we hunted her down. Also said that us sudenly fighting and beating her shouldn't have happened. And that was an action of BrinaHomu combo.

-And the Feather event was very, very harsh on Oriko. When the Feather happened, Oriko panicked:
She blows out a hard breath. "This shouldn't have happened," she says without further preamble. A pained frown creases her forehead, and she rubs at it as she speaks. "The Witch you asked about shouldn't have reached Mitakihara so soon."

"Go on?" you say. Mami shuffles up beside you, and takes your hand in hers. Her fingers are cold against yours.

"It shouldn't have happened," she says, a strained note in her voice. "It can't have happened. Miki Sayaka should be at home right now."
She's saying the whole thing was literally impossible.

"Those were..." Oriko pauses, searching for the words. "Like a sledgehammer to the head." She gives you a meaningful look. "Or simple cessation, in the case of the feathers. This is... everything squeezing."
"It feels like... reality is closing in."

I respect Sayaka's decisions. If she wants to be alone, I'm not going to pretend I know better than her. I care about her, but I also acknowledge her own wants and try to provide them.

Oriko needs a reason to live, that's why I want to show her that we believe in her and know that she can make the world a better place while alive. She wants validation. Give it to her. Show her she doesn't need to die for it.

That's just it: I agree. And our approach, up until now, has been to appeal to her emotions. We've tried inspiring speeches and telling her how her death will affect someone who loves her. And appealing to her emotions has never worked. She has always hidden behind her excuses: "my death is inevitable" and "my death will benefit the world."

Take away those excuses. She tries to pretend that her decision to die is logical, and thus trumps any choice driven my emotion. Only by showing her the flaw in her logic can you make her listen to anything that you have to say. Otherwise it's just more shounen-esque appeals to emotion, and she'll ignore those the same way she always has: by hiding behind her excuses.

Ugh. You missed my point.

Weather it's an appeal to emotion or an appeal to logic, it's irrelevant. The last vote was an appeal to logic which got shot down. You could make the most logical argument to Oriko ever and she'd ignore it. The message is getting lost because right now she's rejecting the messenger. We pushed too hard and thus she dug in and entrenched herself.

If I had to put an analogy to it, I would compare this to a Liberal and a Conservative having a 'debate'. Both believe they're in the right. Both believe their arguments are logical. Both believe the other is completely wrong and being unbelievably stubborn and thick headed. But as it is, it's going to be next to impossible to convince and bring the other guy to your point of view.

They're both frustrated. They're both angry and they've both dug in and entrenched themselves.

That's were Sabrina and Oriko are right now in a matter of speaking.

And that's why I believe, no matter how logical your arguments are, Oriko is in no mood to hear them. That's why this talk isn't going anywhere.

We need to approach this from a completely different angle. Because right now, this talk is a bust.

-Feathers blocks Oriko's visions and changes things as they please. (And if Feathers gets to O&K, O&K die - this I remember).

Feathers is Homucifer or some similar being. Like, let's just assume that's the case for now, because how it happens is irrelevant compared to how well it fits. Based on that we can deny that feathers is related to her precog, simply by asserting that we have other evidence which is too dangerous to leak. Which, uh, it is, let's not tell anybody or anything about Homucifer like ever.

This. We've been over this, Ugo and I have two pages of talking about exactly this.

She won't be. But we can afford her some measure of respect by giving her some time. We won't let her isolate herself for too long, but... yeah.

well to be perfectly honest if we wish to avoid Homucifer we are also going to have to avoid letting anyone find out about the possibility of godoka

Why is that the case

And frankly? It's completely unclear whether Homucifer is avoidable. The fact that feathers already exist (we HAVE one!) could mean any number of things. We could be in a post-rebellion world at this very moment, with things gone strangely somehow. Breaking the loops might bring our loop into conflict with Homucifer's future existence, and for an omnipotent being "future existence" may well also qualify as normal existence under such circumstances.

We could literally be in the process of fighting Homucifer at this very moment, with us trying to drag the timestream one way and she the other, but she doesn't have a physical form here because again future.

There's no way to tell.

Doubtful, witches are not a thing in any post rebellion state because of Madoka final timeline wish,
Why is that the case
Madoka somehow ascended past being a magical girl and this ascension did not end in her being a witch (course she basically is a witch but well stuff).
Madoka has only pulled this off due to a combination of Homura doing the loops, and making a wish that made it impossible to be a witch.
the thing is no one in universe even knows that their is anything beyond a witch, at this point Feathers is to Oriko the workings of 'merely' a magical girl.
It's completely unclear whether Homucifer is avoidable.
Well you are most certainly.....
The fact that feathers already exist (we HAVE one!) could mean any number of things.
hmmm, we know but I think I may have missed it but are the 'feathers' we seen what color are they?

Neither Godoka or Homucifer are omnipotent or omnipresent or all-knowing.
We could literally be in the process of fighting Homucifer at this very moment
We are literally working towards what she would want, a world were madoka can live a happy life (with Homura in it to although that might not be needed), for such a thing Homura would be willing to cease to exist to bring about such a thing, so unless if we royally f*ck up we are not fighting her...... that being said we could be fighting Godoka hmmmmm, no their are witches she isn't in existence yet.
There's no way to tell.
There are ways to tell, weather or not we can confirm is another story.
