Yes.
I really can not understand why getting your seeds cleansed is not enough and people seem to think it would be better to make us stop cleanse other peoples seeds.... when we explained to them its not an economy of scarcity anymore.
Well, one problem is that taking Sabrina up on her offer will almost inevitably make everyone in the city effectively beholden to Sabrina, even dependent on her, for their continued survival. Sure, the first one/two/three are free, but what happens three, six months from now when Sabrina wants something from Tokyo? Will they be able to say no, if their food supply is being threatened?

This might not even be wrong; speaking as part of Sabrina's head, I can say pretty definitively that we're a bunch of busybodies, and probably won't be able to stop ourselves from intervening in something we see as wrong. Let's say the city of Nagoya is in the middle of a civil war involving dozens of meguca, which has the potential to kill thousands of innocent civilians. Will we be able to keep our noses out of it, or avoid pressuring reluctant Tokyo girls into helping intervene?

Also, anyone who knows the Witchbomb will realize that what Sabrina is offering is the end of natural selection as a way to keep the meguca population down, which means there's about to be a baby boom of magical girls, in particular the kind who are unwilling or unable to hunt enough Witches of their own to survive (like for example Ono). In six months, the meguca population of Tokyo could easily triple, even more maybe, and all with new girls who have never had to fight a Witch in their lives, which is sure to complicate what's likely already a delicate political balance. Can we trust these new girls to not be frivolous and self-entitled about their powers, to not get into fights just because, hey, they have superpowers now and they deserve to be in charge?

TLDR: There's actually a few rather important reasons that meguca groups would be skeptical about a girl offering infinite free cleanses, even beyond the whole "is this really possible, or just a scam" consideration.

I think avoiding upsetting the power balance in Tokyo is worth playing along with their politics, to a point. Massive destabilization could easily lead to conflict, which could endanger people.

On another level, establishing Sabrina as someone you can reasonably deal with, as opposed to someone who busts down existing social structures on a whim, will likely help us in the future - since the Tokyo council almost certainly keeps in touch with other large magical girl groups in the region.

For dealing with them, the play, I think, is to say that we'd be more than willing to discuss things with the Council directly if it would speed up deliberations - the existing scarcity of cleanses causes suffering among magical girls, and our primary goal is to reduce that.

Say we can meet as soon as tommorow, or some time during the week. By giving an offer of that sort, we alter the timeframe of deliberations to our benefit.

Then we meet with whoever the leaders of the group are, having used soul gem cleansing to verify our claims, and get down to realpolitik - we understand that having Tokyo dependant on a single magical girl for cleansing is an untenable proposition, for both practical and ideological reasons.

They've kept the peace in what could easily have been a hellhole of conflicting minor groups, and haven't gone mad with power or the like. Thus, we offer them multiple Clear Seeds up front, and a willingness to cooperate in the future.

We're up front with the risks of the Clear Seeds, and make it clear that this is an offer without attached strings - the only favors we want from the exchange is for them to consider cooperating in the future, and to use the Clear Seeds and our assistance as best they can to improve the lives of Magical Girls.

I don't know, the second half read like "Strings Attached" to me.

"Improve the lives of Magical Girls" can mean many different things to many different people, not all of them good. Our offer is too good to be true, and ping as "SCAM" to most people. The only way to circumvent this is by starting with one of them and proving to the other Tokyo groups that we have their best interests at heart and we totes won't turn them into Witches or whatever it is they're worried about.

Meiji should turn around quick once they see how the others prosper under our rule and benevolence can live fairly normal lives now.

Eh, it doesn't have to be a hard and fast condition like you're thinking.

"Just... I'm available to contact, and I'd be happy to help resolve any scarcity issues I can with my ability. Just... keep things stable, and... heh, it's cheesy... use it for good, okay? Make things better, however you think that could be best done. I... I guess I'll be going now."

I be glad to see Sabrina dealing with new girls especially with politics since its really tiring to see the same girls over and over with their social. Perhaps we see some more darker social.

Choice of wording really won't change much. At the end of the day we're still asking them to do something in exchange for our help, which is kind of counter to not having any strings attached to our gift.

Breaking someone's world view several times and making them dependent on you ain't dark enough for ya?

And then they try to turn us into their own private cleanse machine somehow because POWAH for them depends on cleanses being hard to get and a controllable ressource.
Oh kamis, I so like victims turning into victimizers. !not.

They're smarter than that. Tokyo MGs tend to drop if they aren't.

They aren't going to try anything funny, not while we have a clear shot on all their Gems.

But afterwards... we should try to be VERY coy about where exactly we are from and everything... lest they TRY something funny.
Their Gems are always within range of us.

Their's no need to worry about the Tokyo MGs. They know we have nasty friends, and we're pretty nasty ourselves as we demonstrated when we rocked every single one of them.

Just say "strings attached" up front to defuse the expectation. They won't accept the worm without looking for the hook, and not finding the hook will only make them more paranoid. So show them the hook.
"The catch is I'm a grief manipulator and I want your grief so I have more on hand to manipulate. Also I want you to not die so you can perform Unlimited Meguca Works and get me more dark seeds. Now test these clear grief seeds for me and give them back when they get half full. I'm selling them two to three for the regular kind of grief seed. That's my angle, I want the grief, and I'm willing to pay in better soul cleansing tech."

That's my angle, and it's one that helps you not die."

o_O We have more problems getting rid of grief then getting more of it.

So, we can get contact information, as I suspected, which is good. So far, things seem okay. It looks like we're going to get involved with a lot of politics soon though, which will probably try people's patience, but is necessary for our goals. Getting dossiers on the magical girls involved would probably be useful. I'd like to try griefing that up, but we may get range issues if no on has recorded this information on the internet. If we get their names we should be able to get some information on them though.

Anyway, we've still got a girl to find. I'd like to try grief relays next. If they work, they'll help a lot here and even more with later stuff. Next, we can try go to her last known location (maybe even her house) and see if we can scan for events that happened to her there (magical CSI!) and try to track her that way.

You grimace. "I... well, the information I woke up with could only have come from magic of some kind, I... think. I don't think I have an actual identity to uncover."

Well if QB heard that metasecurity is out the window

On the smartphone topic, I just want to say that my parents forced me to get a smartphone and I just want my old flip back. I do all the smart stuff on my ipad, which actually has a keyboard worth the name among other luxuries.

In any case, we only have half-an-hour before the picnic, and Mitakihara remains Mami's territory. So anything we plan will be for later use anyway, after Mami vets it. We're not sticking Mitakihara in the middle of Tokyo politics without her consent and help.

[x] Smile at Mami. Time to pack up for the picnic!
-[x] Homura offered to keep stuff in stasis if we needed it, but... do we need it? Everything looks like it should keep fine without the help... What does Mami think?
--[x] Abide by Mami's decision either way.

[x] Head out to the park once everything is packed. Keep the conversation light - this is a time to unwind and relax.
-[x] Greet your friends once you're there. Use phones/telepathy as appropriate to get everyone to the same place.
