You both return to the couch. You sit as close as possible to Sabrina, and she pulls you into her arms, where you curl up in comfort as she smiles down on you.

Look I know we've had reservations but this is different now! "Oh we'll scare her away" if your guys freakout last night didn't do that already, nothing will! "Oh we must be proper and respectable, she's our kohai you know!" that ship sailed long ago. "Maybe she's straight, or already has a girlfriend she's lost with the rest of her memories, or she relaly prefers Homura!" all these are dumb and you know it. Like 1 in 5 meguca are straight, and they're really careful about not sending the wrong signals because of that, the memories... I"ll be honest I dunno what's up with that, but clearly she doesn't have a normal past, and she's obviously shipping Homumado. Why are we waiting?

Because we don't know if she thinks of us as anything more than a friend? Because she still has a ton of secrets, perhaps including a good reason for not getting in a relationship? All we need right now is a friend, and that's all Sabrina has said she wants to be.

1. We're pretty much physically attached to her
2. We live, eat, train, fight, and do basically everything together
3. Did I mention that includes SLEEPING IN THE SAME BED?
4. She just flew us across the city in a princess carry
5. She breaks into a smile practically every time she looks at us
6. The spinning hugs? Remember those?
7. "I don't want to lose you." "My life would be so very much darker without your presence in it." "Mami, I don't mind. I really, truly don't. I enjoy being here with you. I enjoy giving you hugs, and I enjoy spending time with you." <-- Remember this?!

Let's make an actual vote. How about:

[X] Continue the hug.
[X] Ask Sabrina if there's anything she'd like us to help with.
[X] Stick by her side until the picnic, if she needs to travel somewhere to help this magical girl.

Seriously, control yourselves. You want to mess up our relationship with the only person willing to stick with us once they find out we're not who we pretend to be? You're sure that there's really no good reason Sabrina isn't asking us out, when there's so much we haven't dared learn about her yet?

Look, we've had this argument a thousand times. Last night is history. Things are okay. We're going to have a nice picnic. Just because we overreacted then doesn't mean we have to immediately overreact in the opposite direction.

Compromise vote?

[X] Hug Sabrina a bit closer.
[X] Ask Sabrina if there's anything she'd like us to help with.
[X] Stick by her side until the picnic, if she needs to travel somewhere to help this magical girl.
I still say we should ask to have a big sleepover next.

The compromise will win. That's fine, we argue too much. But I will say this:

I have so many questions. Do the Mami Quest people know about PMMM or was it an original quest for them? When did they start playing? Do they have any theories on Sabrina having meta-knowledge? Do they know about the witchbomb (see question 1 I guess)?

Meanwhile, Orikoquest is being played by Bay12 (who are way to into the role play) and Sakuraquest is run on 4chan, which explains the language.

Coincidently, Yunaquest is also on 4chan, but they're hiding their power level from Onee-sama.

Meaningless Name

"Happy birthday, Mami!"

A wrapped box is practically shoved into your hands.

You hesitate, and make to grab it, but-

The sheer noise washes over you, your ears assaulted by a dozen chattering voices, all excitedly trying to make themselves heard over all the others, many strings of conversation blending into an incoherent, almost physical wall of sound that makes your head throb.

The girl standing in front of you -your friend- shuffles in place, her smile faltering. "I'm sure you'll like it!" she says.

You snap out of your daze, returning her smile with a radiant one of your own. "Of course I will," you try to put as much gratitude as you can in your voice, "but please, come in," you hold the box under one arm so you can sweep the other one in an inviting gesture.

The black haired girl looks delighted as she brushes past you, immediately zooming into a group of your friends, who turn to greet her animatedly.

You let out a contented sigh, leave your newest gift in a pile with the rest, and quickly make your way to the kitchen. You're gonna need more cakes!

A familiar redhead bumps into you when you open the fridge.

"Let me help," she grins as she takes two plates off your hands.

"Leave some for the others~" you sing song at her back.

She huffs and half turns to stick her tongue out at you; you giggle at the childish gesture, and follow behind her with a tray of tea and teacups.

"This tastes so gooooooood~"

You haven't finished settling down the tea tray on the table when the compliments start, as is usual when you share the pastries made by your own hand. You try to restrain yourself, knowing they always exaggerate, but you can't help feeling elated, a nice and warm feeling growing in your chest, and some of that shines through in your expression, you're sure.

You know it because you can see your smile reflected in their faces. It only makes you happier.

Still, you try to wave off the compliments, as usual. It wouldn't do to get a big head.

A glimpse of blue catches your eye; you turn to look at the open windows in time for a shadow to flick over you-

"Mamiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!"

You're instantly wrapped in a tight, warm embrace; a headful of white hair poking at the edge of your vision. Your arms are already coiled around the other girl, holding her as firmly as she holds you.

A minute later, Sabrina loosens her hug enough to look at you.

"Sorry I'm late."

You shake your head.

"It's fine."

You walk back to the head of the table, still holding onto Sabrina, who sits at your right, and she cheerfully exchange greetings with everybody else.

You let out a contented sigh, letting the sound of chatter and clattering utensils wash over you, simply enjoying the sight of so many friends surrounding you, holding you. You interject now and then, talking about everything and nothing, and you're happy.

You could spent counless hours like this.

The light dims, taking the natural red tinge of the setting sun.

"Well, I should get going," announces Kyouko, standing up.

As if that was a catalyst, the many other girls stop, some taking out their phones to check the time, others simply adding their "I should go home", "got to go, too".

You open your mouth to- you don't know. You want to object, but can you? It's not like...

The warm presence at your side vanishes, and you tilt slightly before you catch yourself. You turn to look at Sabrina.

"I should also get going," she says.

You look at her. You watch as she turns away. You watch her back as she joins the... the others, all slowly moving towards the open door, going away... leaving.

Leaving you alone.

"NO!"

You're half-conscious you're standing, yelling, moving, walking after them, telling them to come back, pleading, begging to not leave.

But they're going away. One by one they filter through the door, and out into the pitch blackness outside where you can't see them, where you can't reach them.

You yell, you run, you try to hold them back, they can't leave...

But you can't reach them. Your words come out as a whisper. You run, and run, and the chasm separating you and them only grows larger. You can't talk. Your arms can't reach...

Another one leaves.

You... you can't let this happen.

You throw your arm out -and it twists, your fingers stretching impossibly long, thin, yellow ribbons flying forward insurmountable distances to reach, to hold.

Your ribbons- your hand- snaps closed around Masami's arm, holding her before she can leave.

The same happens to the other ones who's left -Ayaka, Kyouko, then Sabrina wince as the mass of ribbons wrap themselves around their arms, legs, around their bodies, wherever you can hold them.

And they stay. They stop leaving.

A trembling laugh escapes you, shaky, just like your legs which collapse, leaving you kneeling on the ground, feeling tired, so tired, but content.

They won't leave. They can't leave. You're not alone.

You stare for a moment at your arms; your wrists morph into a twisting yellow mass of strings, and you can't find your hands, and that seems strange to you... but it doesn't matter.

What matters is that you have friends, you think as you look up, to regard them with as bright a smile as you can.

Cold eyes stare back.

You... you don't understand.

Oh, where are your manners? You make to stand up -a pull pitches you forward, off balance- you catch yourself -you have no hands- you fall face first onto the ground.

It hurts.

You blink tears out of your eyes, looking back up at your guests, your friends, tangled in string, in your ribbons, and...

Still walking away.

Struggling.

You whine and pull back at them, but it's useless. Slowly, inch by inch, Ayaka reaches for the doorframe- another ribbon snaps- she grunts as the yellow string non-too-gently wraps itself around her arm, but that only stops her for a second.

She grabs onto the doorframe with both hands, and you try to pull her back, but she... just... keeps... moving forward and away from you and-

She's gone.

You reel back, your ribbons -hands- falling limp with nothing to hold onto.

Masami is next.

"Y-you can't l-leave," you whisper.

A mass of ribbons explodes from your arms, a million yellow strings flying at the remaining girls, at your remaining friends.

You watch as they turn, their eyes widening in fright at the wave of ribbons falling upon them, and you smile in joy as they realize they won't be able to leave after all.

Then a shudder. You flinch as a wall of force crashes against your ribbons -against you- and your ribbons stop, unable to move any further.

You watch helplessly as Masami, in full Magical Girl gear, makes a motion with her hands -one you know all too well- and pushes back at you.

You're blown back by her hands, flying, falling, rolling, entangling yourself on your own limbs -on your thousand ribbons.

"No... no..."

A mere thought and you rise, your mass of ribbons lifting you in the air, high above and you watch as purple-black blades of Grief cut through the only ribbons still attached to your friends.

In the second it takes you to notice it, they're free.

Masami walks out.

Kyouko follows-

"COME BACK!" you bellow, you cry, you reach.

A string wraps itself around Kyouko's neck, holding her back, and she grabs at it, choking, futilely trying to pull herself free, and Sabrina, nice to a fault, stops to help her, so you grab her too.

You grab at their arms, their legs, their fingers, their toes, torsos, heads, you wrap them all up and pull.

And as two bright yellow cocoons they fly towards your open arms.

Snap
.

A rolling mass of nauseous Grief condenses into a pair of familiar wings-

You ribbons fall down, cut in half.

"No... N-"

A pair of red eyes glare.

You freeze.

She moves, the yellow shaft of her spear twirls into her hands once, stops, she flies, the silver tipped spear heading your way.

You know how this ends.

You watch helpless as the spearhead closes -just like when she left, it'll stop right before hitting you and she'll turn away and she'll leave again and there's nothing you can do-

You jerk and cry in agony as the blade slices into your heart-

You jerk again and try to breathe, your lungs failing to pull in any air, your eyes blind to darkness, you shake and shiver and try to...

Something holds you. Someone. A pair of arms tighten themselves around your back, pulling you close into a warm embrace...

Sabrina murmurs something unintelligible in her sleep.

You stay completely still for a minute, regaining your breath, your shaking dying down as you comphrehend you are lying down in bed, in the middle of the night, held in Sabrina's arms.

You choke back a sob, bury your head on her shoulder and hug her back as fiercely as you can... without waking her.

You've still got one left.

You can't lose her.

I had to.

So........anyone feel like creating a mobile version of that fake forum page template (where usernames and images are above posts instead of to the left of them)?

Reading those fake posts is a massive pain on a mobile device, because the sidebar in the fake post is wider than the posts themselves, resulting in posts that only contain 3 words on each line.

Switching a mobile device to Landscape orientation doesn't fix this, because then the actual forum's sidebar appears!

yeah, it's nice as a showcase of what bbcode can do, but a more lightweight format would also be easier to read on other themes (can't see shit on Flexile White) plus i've got a larger font css that makes it almost as hard to read as on mobile

Well... There ARE five of them. It's not Homura, or Kyouko, that's for sure. Sayaka seems bi enough to count... And we're in bed with Mami... Oh Madokami, it's Madoka isn't it? Quick, nobody tell Homu... . . . ...lily, dammit too late.

Keep in mind that Mami knows other magical girls besides the Holy Quintet Mitakihara Five. There could be a couple straight ones in there somewhere.

[Q] "Hey Mami, apropos of nothing, what do you think of same sex relationships?"
Mami: "... Well, while I have... slowly come to terms with my own sexuality, I was raised to view that kind of thing as wrong, and... I think if I was going to be with a girl in that way, I would like one who also has those feelings, who had to hide from, run from, and deny that girls could love girls, someone with grace and elegance, and perhaps green hair... Oh dear, I've said too much."
