"Uh..."

[ ] Madoka.
[ ] Homura.

[ ] Mami.
[ ] Kyouko.
[ ] Sayaka.
[ ] Michiru.
[ ] Hitomi.
[ ] Junko.
[ ] Tatsuya.
[ ] Poor-chan.
[ ] Kazuko.
[ ] Walpurgis.

"Because it's like suddenly all my dirty laundry is showing and it's really embarrasing and it'd really make me feel better if you didn't mind all this and we just moved on..."

"Fine."

"Really?"

"Yes."

Later that night:

1. Miki Sayaka: Warn before throwing bombs. She's sturdy, but she complains too much about it.

Don't upstage her in a fight. It's harder to make friends with her if she gets jealous.

Stop her from contracting. Take away any incentive she has to Wish.

Separate her from Madoka before she makes a contract.

Damage control. Miki Sayaka is fated to contract, then die. Make sure this affects Madoka as little as possible.

2. Tomoe Mami: She respects shooting skills. Compete, but don't try to show off.

Don't let her find out the truth about Soul Gems.

None of them. Mami's better off ignorant.

Don't refuse her offers out of hand.

3. Sakura Kyouko: DON'T waste food.

Give food.

Sakura Kyouko is not a charity case.

Sakura Kyouko is pragmatic. Bargain for her help.

Offer Mitakihara in exchange for help with Walpurgisnacht.

4. Mikuni Oriko: Kill before she can contract.

5. Kure Kirika: ^

6. Sendai Group: Hire for help against Walpurgisnacht.

Wait them out until they go away.

Beat them up until they go away.

Give Grief Seeds until they go away.

7. Fukushima Group: Flashbangs. Don't give them any time to ramp up.

8. Tohoku University Group: Give whatever Seeds can be spared.

Allow them into Mitakihara in exchange for help against Walpurgisnacht.

Scare them off. They're desperate, but weak, and will back off if pushed.

9. Sabrina: HUGS.

Will help for hugs. Likes being told she's needed.

Might keep Mami alive forever.

Wants a mother figure. Can play the part.

Thinks she's in an anime. Worrying, but mabe helpful?

Thinks she's the main character. Maybe that's why she tries so hard?

(This is too complicated)

HUGS.

I thought that Sayaka wasn't always fated to contract, but if she did, she was always fated to die.

I did switch my vote, because vote splitting is bad, but...

You could probably try something ridiculous like making a gun big enough to fill your whole 100 meter radius and try to pulverize Walpurgisnacht with it... though you'd have to do something about ammo...
-[X] But talking about Mami and guns, Mami can copy your Grief constructs; you could make some bullshit conceptual overpowered weapon and try having Mami copy it, so it could shoot outside your range.
-[X] And if she wants more gun, we can probably break the sound speed. We could go shopping to other countries with her! How's that sound?

I'm actually kinda iffy on the "grief construct weapon" thing, really.

If it's a grief construct, then:
a) it logically shouldn't be able to do more damage to a grief based entity than our base power, since it's just grief mimicking an effect.
b) Mami can't copy it.

So the only way that it's even theoretically possible is with enchantment enhancement. However:
a) Just because we haven't found limits on what we can enchant with grief assistance doesn't mean there are no limits.
b) ...and anything we make that is powerful enough to challenge Walpurgis would probably be insanely difficult to reverse-engineer.

It's a possible future approach, but one that's shaky enough that I'd want more enchantment research before getting Homura's hopes up.

@Onmur
Maybe replace that section with something like:

[ ] If grief rending doesn't work out, we could always just try hitting Walpurgisnacht with as much energy as we can with suspended projectile attacks from timestop.
-[ ] Without magic use constraints, Mami could cue up a lot of Tiro Finales, and we can accelerate grief - and thus, any physical objects in contact with grief- to... well, as far as we can tell, to arbitrary speeds. If there is a speed limit, we haven't found it yet.
--[ ] And if there's any "equipment" that Homura thinks could be useful from outside Japan, we wouldn't be against providing international transport at supersonic speeds next time we go "shopping".

So is the Sayaka invasion on or not?

Look at my avatar and tell me. :V

Hey guys, what if we try to get Homu to learn Black Wings of Corrosion? With that move, Walpurgisnacht becomes a joke.

The anti-pain ring she copied wasn't a grief construct, it was a grief-boosted enchantment.
Don't be pedantic.

If we make a super ultra Witch purifying gun with our powers and it works, Mami can make a real copy if we really want. It just takes an extra step and however long Mami takes to figure out the super shooting purifying whatever enchantmens.

That's a pretty big assumption there, bucko; Mami wasn't sure she would even be able to enchant the last grief thing. We can give it a try, but she might not be able to do some things that our grief can. The two powers (magic and grief) are two different magic types, after all.

And we're just throwing ideas past Homura. It's random chit chat, not a scientific project.

Yea, she probably can't, since she only demonstrates that power in a universe where her wish-magic has changed to protect an intangible concept. They're also implied to be an act of Madokami's direct divine intervention through her Soul Gem.

It's not pedantic, it's an entirely valid point. The grief-enhanced enchantment was just a bunch of shortcutting to make something resembling a full enchantment, which Mami was able to replicate with uncertain confidence. Grief has been observed to work differently from enchantment, and is full on "Fuck you I do what I want"-phlebtonium.

I'll call Grief boosted enchantments 'Grief constructs' because that's what they are, constructs that are made with Grief in one way or another. Splitting hairs is pedantic.

Meaning we can try.

We should, probably, try to make some conceptual anti Grief weapon and, if it works, see if we can get Mami to replicate them.

If we don't want to mention it, that's fine. I contested the affirmation that Mami can't copy whatever theoretical gun we make, which is uncertain.

[X] Thank Homura.
[X] Keep checking locations, noting anything unusual, until you find Sasa. Stop if you find any unknown Magical Girl.
-[X] If you find Sasa, do the Grief ring test, share any and all information you can about Sasa with Homura, and ask her to take some distance so she may be safe from Sasa's abilites in case she's more powerful than you expect. You'd feel safe with her watching your back, and... you're kind of worried about mind control stuff in general.

[X] (Pick random/whatever goes with the flow) Talk shop/science talk:
-[X] Ask Homura if she could spot for you some time. You've noticed Grief has a strange reaction when released in large quantities, and you want to know what it is. It might be dangerous.
-[X] About Mami... her power is based around 'connections', right? You've noticed you coordinate really well with her, despite having little to no practice together. You think team and coordiantion practice could help your group improve very quickly with Mami's help. Thoughts?
-[X] More about Walpurgis. If grief rending doesn't work out, can we basically bombard it from timestop? With infinite cleansing, we could shoot Walpurgisnacht a bajillion times a second, Mami, specially... and you probably can accelerate projectiles with Grief at ridiculous speeds, you haven't really found a maximum speed for your Grief.
-[X] And if there's any "equipment" that Homura thinks could be useful from outside Japan, we wouldn't be against providing international transport at supersonic speeds next time we go "shopping".

Isn't that just video game mechanics? Because if that is true, then Homura should be able to cast "Haste" and "Slow".

Well, her time powers could maybe do something along the lines of haste and slow (though I'm not sure why you'd want to.)
As for game mechanics, yeah, probably. But it certainly doesn't hurt to try and analyze why that attack is so effective against Wall-Pierogis.

*RPG*
'No, you are not allowed to move or complete an action, it's our turn now!'
*Walpurgis props half a building back up, stops moving*
'Good!'

Uh... I feel really silly for asking this but are the Walpurgis Night typo's intentional?
