Can't a girl have two moms?

Geez... Poor Sabrina doesn't need to wonder if it's OK to have a Madomom and a Homumom.

Or was it a Momdoka and a Momura?

We should get this on paper.
I find it more amusing the other way. Admittedly, Kyouko seems more paternal in general, but I can totally see Sayaka dragging Yuma out for baseball.

Even being a girl, she'd be at the very least, a better father than she had, surprising no one.

Probably a reason why she's taking care of Yuma right now.

...From what I recall, Kyoko's dad was actually pretty good, until he snapped.
And honestly, I only agree that she can definitely do better because by the time she snaps she'll probably have witched already.

I'm not really sure about that, while being religious is a good thing, Kyouko's father allowed his faith and ideals to blind him to the suffering of his own family.

Not saying his desire to save others is wrong, that is not the issue; not being able to think of a way to make those ideals reality, even if little by little, is a rather self-destructive path.

That's not the impression I have of Kyouko's father. He didn't leave the Church regardless of the consequences to his family, but rather was kicked out for trying to teach altered doctrine that would be better for his flock. Until his world was shattered by the revelation that his daughter had mind-controlled the very people he thought he was finally helping, my understanding is that he did everything he could to help his family. Kyouko was, until that point, a victim of rigid theology more than an uncaring father.

On a much lighter and recently relevant note, here's a thought on exactly what kind of new doctrine Kyouko's father was teaching...

And now I'm curious as to what Heresy did Kyouko's father preached to get himself kicked.

Hard to guess, especially when we don't even know for sure what church he was originally a part of. All we know is that he wanted to right the suffering of the world, and there's any number of weird ideas he could have gotten into his head on how to do that.

From what I have read in the wiki, he is apparently Anglican, which would explain him being married and his church looking akin to the Catholic ones. As for the ideas, there you have a lot of space for potential discussion so I will try to wrap that up: Sometimes, new ideas are good; other times, tradition has the reason.

When it comes to Kyodad, I believe this is always relevant.

I have been giving it some thought, and think that people have been picking the wrong reasons for Kyoko's father's murder-suicide. It was not faith, but doubt and fear.

Remember, his daughter's actions had provided undeniable confirmation of the supernatural, and the existence of what could only be described as a demon. The faith that he was doing the right thing, the moral thing, must of been shattered. It was not his works or his faith that had brought people in, but a demon's silver tongue, powered by his daughter's soul.

First and foremost, he must have believed that he utterly failed as her father. His daughter, one who he had fully taught and raised in his beliefs, had sold her soul to a demon. If he could have failed her so utterly and completely, then what of his parish. They had not heard the voice of truth, but the lies of a demon. How many others had he lead down a dark path to damnation.

For his works, he was condemned and tainted. The rest of his life he was cursed to be Satan's voice. Even if he fell silent his lies, might grow and spread. How could he discredit his teachings? A public and humiliating death might serve to discredit his doctrine. Hence the suicide.

As for the murder, I think it was a perverse way of trying to save them. Kyoko was damned and beyond his reach. But to his knowledge his wife and younger daughter were still unblemished. He had to die, in so doing he would be condemning himself to hell fire. But after he left they might try and continue his heresy, or even sell there souls to the demon. Only death would guarantee the safety of their souls.

For a damned man what's one more sin?

And just when I think PMMM can get no darker someone points something like this out.

Think QB had a hand in Kyodad being declared a heretic to set up Kyoko to make her wish? And how it her father find out?

After all, I believe the accident that killed Mami's family was arranged by QB. After all itkeep having Madoka and Sayaka enter barriers that placed them in danger. And when that danger appeared QB tried to get them to wish to save their lives.

Giving KB too much credit there. KB is opportunistic.

It getting attached to Madoka is simple due to Madoka's exceptional potential.

I believe you.
This is from the Puella Magi Madoka Magica / Nightmare Fuel - TV Tropes page.
Kyubey is guilty of the crime of HUMAN TRAFFICKING, and his exploitative recruitment methods are comparable to Child Porn. A Manipulative Bastard who uses the emotion and desperation of little girls in order to scam them into a Deal with the Devil and force them in a dangerous job as enslaved prostitutes, er, "Magical Girls".Plus, being Invisible to Normals means that those who contracts cant talk about him to anyone lest people think they're crazy.

I don't think Kyubey goes that far. The idea that Kyubey causes car accidents and church excommunications is not only comical, but it takes agency for Bad Shit Happening away from humans. It's wanting to turn everything into an external enemy you can fight and reject. Mami's parents died because someone wasn't watching the road. Kyouko's family suffered because people crave the familiar over change.

Kyubey doesn't cause these incidents. He just feeds on them like a disgusting vulture. He sees the rotting scraps of the damaged and the dead and pulls the meat off the bone for his own benefit. He sees you hurting, and he twists his claw in the injury and adds salt for flavor.
