Madoka wasn't the only one whose powers increased with every timeline. Unfortunately, Sayaka's power wasn't the kind that Kyubey could handle harvest!
Thing is that Oriko herself is STILL Oriko. That means saving the world, that means Kirika. That means lack of self-worth and feeling lost....Are we absolutely certain that the meaning of Oriko's life is the same in this timeline as it was in that timeline?
We (myself included) have been falling into the exact same trap we criticized Homura for lately- this Oriko is not that Oriko.
And this is how we know that Kirika's devotion to Oriko is less than Homura's devotion to Madoka. If Kirika had really wanted to be the person Oriko needs, she'd have become a time-traveler dedicated to erasing all Oriko's suffering!I think I just spotted the easy way out.
... Make somebody Wish the Mikuni scandal hadn't happen-
*Gets beaten with a chair*
Yes, let's go tell this to Homura right now.And this is how we know that Kirika's devotion to Oriko is less than Homura's devotion to Madoka. If Kirika had really wanted to be the person Oriko needs, she'd have become a time-traveler dedicated to erasing all Oriko's suffering!
Ono Megane was Kirika all along!...Kirika is the reason for Oriko's suffering! She is (gasp) Feathers!

[x] That Oriko... the conclusion she reached was that she wasn't living her life wholeheartedly - both in her personal life, in her feelings for ...that Kirika, and in trying to change events. Oriko puts on the sinister plotting act, but that Oriko... when she took action herself, and tried to help someone directly - not as part of some plot, but just an honest attempt to make things better... she wished to find a meaning to her life, and that Oriko found it in trying her honest best to help people, and in spending time with that Kirika.
-[x] And reaching that conclusion, she got far greater control over her powers, and sweet lasers. Really cool lasers. So cool.
--[x] So, uh, I don't know the whole story there. My knowledge of other timelines is spotty. But it... it seems to me like reaching a state where she feels like she's found a meaning to her life really helped with that Oriko's magic. And... it sounds really sappy, but that Kirika was the meaning of that Oriko's life. So I guess one solution would be for you to use the power of Love to cure her... we really are magical girls, huh?

What do you mean? Obviously, 'Ugolino' would become the current course of action. What would happen, in theory, if "[] Ugolino" won, but @Ugolino never voted?
I agree that the "meaning of Oriko's life" is to "save the world" (she has used those exact words) and that goal clearly includes Kirika. However, "save the world" is itself a rather vague goal. Based on Oriko's other comments, we can infer that she's primarily interested in preventing people from dying unnecessarily (note: this includes making sure that Kirika lives, but it does not include saving her own life). It appears that Oriko might be prioritizing saving other peoples' lives over her own life and over Kirika's happiness. This prioritization might be slightly different than in the other timeline. Or Oriko might be internally conflicted about that prioritization (hence the conflict that is causing her soul gem to have problems).Thing is that Oriko herself is STILL Oriko. That means saving the world, that means Kirika. That means lack of self-worth and feeling lost....Are we absolutely certain that the meaning of Oriko's life is the same in this timeline as it was in that timeline?

Her Wish guided her into a situation where she'd realize her own meaning.Eh.
Disagree with the last line as such. the part about "no need"...
How's this alone?Just don't focus too much on SD, again. This Oriko isn't that one. She has different fears and priorities. Even if they are really similar. It would be like comparing her to the one who went psycho and killed off an entire school. I would recommend focusing on what they have in common like their love for Kirika and their past, with all the issues that entails.
[X] If you want the short version... What does your Wish tell you?
-[X] (Get an answer).
-[X] Whatever Kirika's Wish tells her Oriko needs... Oriko needs to realize it herself.
[X] The long of it... Oriko wants to believe she deserves better. Wants to believe she can live her own life for her own sake, and that she doesn't owe her owe life to anybody, and even less to those who've harmed and hated her... but she can't. Unfair as it is, Oriko does blame herself for her... father's actions.
The bluntest I could put it is:I'm going to have to take your word for it. I haven't read the Oriko mangas yet. Couldn't find most of them, and some of the art just looked really ugly to me. I just looked at the wikis which isn't really enough.
And I think that you should just outright state what you're implying about Kirka's importance to Oriko. Playing all cryptic about this is getting increasingly annoying. We could barely justify it with just Oriko, imo.
If you read that scene, it's pretty clear Oriko's half talking to Yuma and half talking to herself.[x] That Oriko... the conclusion she reached was that she wasn't living her life wholeheartedly - both in her personal life, in her feelings for ...that Kirika, and in trying to change events. ... I really think those two votes for Ugolino should be removed from the next vote.
If people are voting for Ugolino's vote without Ugolino making a vote then people are being too lazy. (Among other things.)
People should still not vote for a vote that doesn't exist yet, if they want to vote for someone, they should wait until the vote is made and then read it.It doesn't work that way.
First, if people have already made a vote bandwagoning for someone, that means they trust that persons judgement for the next update.
Second, you do not speak for someone else's vote.
