So... do we have any kind of realistic plan to get Oriko some agency without Homura and/or Sayaka flipping out? Because I'm very much at a loss here.
Sayaka we could deal with/talk down/handle, but right now we can't get Oriko to leave the house without burning all our bridges with Homura.

It's an option but one we're not desperate enough to do yet.

i really want to bring up oriko's bias and how she wanted to die and may still do.

she might have depression which when it gets a hold on you won't go away that easily

the ring of irrepressible optimism might just be what we need. At least for a single minute XD

On the bright side, there's a matter we need to deal with in case we decide to talk about something else after this 'break', which should be a step towards ending the house arrest: Sayaka.

If Oriko doesn't want to talk about her meaning, that's fine, she needs time to think now. Meanwhile, we can ask her how she plans to tell Sayaka face to face that she burnt down her house.

... We're on damage control, right after we make ALL the adjustments to whatever Oriko proposes as a first plan.

I don't know how much Homura will care about this 'new and less suicidal and less annoying' Sayaka's opinion, but if we can get Sayaka to make peace, for a certain value of peace, with Oriko, and get Mami to vouch for O&K, maybe Homura will try to trust us enough when we promise O&K won't be a problem if we let them go.

And yes, there's about a critical amount of 'maybe' in that last sentence, but it's the hand we've got.

Oriko is a responsible young woman.

I say we offer the drugs.

(inb4 the only emotion we can cast is Grief)

:p

Amateur.

[Q] There is only one possible solution.
-[Q] Kyoko knew this day would come.
--[Q] Grief Heroin.
Pfff, just think what'll happen when we give Oriko a Ring of Happiness to help her deal with her depression and the ring turns out to be a Ring of Grief instead.

A pity Kirika trusted us too much to demand to try it on first!

:V

Also we already are a Grief heroine what are you talking about.

We're just what the Madoktor ordered for this ill system.

I swear it's like the same bunch of people never fucking reads any of my posts

oh wait, that's why I stopped trying to actively participate in this quest, wasn't it?

EDIT: I doubt Sayaka will be a problem. Aside from everything else that's been said before, it's important to remember that this Sayaka is not the same person as she was in canon. As for Homura...see my posts.

Lay off the goddamn salt.

I read your post. We suggested something along those lines to Homura earlier. She flat out said no. Unless you have another way of approaching it, that suggestion is a dead end.

...no, we didn't. Or rather, it's not the suggestion itself; that's not the goddamn point (as I've already said). It's the way the argument is made, the way the appeal is made, and the general approach taken to convincing Homura. (It also raises some specific points that have never really made to Homura before.)

That you consider it to be something "already tried" indicates that you either aren't considering the idea in good faith or that you're continuously skimming it with prejudice.

I mean, fuck, the bulk of the post was a "how-to convince Homura to allow X", not "suggest X to Homura". That you did not even notice that distinction suggests that you are not considering it in good faith (and you're hardly the only one doing that), which is why I'm goddamn salty.

>Sayaka
>Not a problem
>Not holding a grudge against people when she had significantly less reason to actually hate Homura in canon than she would Oriko now.

She's literally the same person she was in canon, just with different friends and circumstances. That doesn't mean she won't still act like Sayaka. (Read: First impressions and presentation matter, as does getting her to see them as people and know what they're actually doing rather than what her first impression would lead her to think.)

This isn't how you get people to consider your ideas seriously.

So, after reading every post in this thread with more than four votes (*shudders*), I'm finally almost caught up. Sixty more pages. Four posts. *blows on kazoo*

Once I'm done I'll share my theory about Madoka's wish, and the consequences thereof.

But more importantly, I have to ask:

Puella Magi Adfligo Systema | Page 1651

Firnagzen can apparently give out meow ratings.

How.
Welcome back! Looking forward to the rampant speculation latest theory! :D

...The problem here is that Homura doesn't trust us to follow through with any actual 'smashing' of gems. Even if we're the ones holding them. Homura doesn't believe we can bring ourselves to kill, at least not before Oriko and Kirika theoretically overtake us. Whatever threat there is to holding their gems isn't satisfactory to her.

We need more then that or we need to somehow convince Homura that holding O and K's gems is enough. And as it is, you're right in that I don't hold much stock in the latter. Nor am I all that thrilled at the implications of convincing Homura we can kill under the right circumstances.

He had access just like the mods, for the short period it was available, due to being a sponsor.

... I just clicked the threadmarks. I regret reading all the posts in SayakaQuest, despite the very amusing reactions after each story posts. I haven't finished reading it though....

Though I have to ask, what is this Meow rating? I mean, what's the purpose? Seems pretty meaningless to me.

Lightweight. I joined at page 1498, and it only took me like a week of frenzied sleepless nights to catch up. :V
Is that a challenge? Because I ain't taking it, I joined at page 2652, there is no way I'm doing all 2000+ pages between when I stopped and there.
