This was me agreeing with you. I like your vote, if you're satisfied with it I'd vote for it.
Ah, thanks. I do think we're losing restraint in our actions with each passing update, but I doubt more sensible people would like to do things this way, and the fact that it is what I came up with makes me think it's not the ideal situation, since I'm bad at this sort of stuff.

I honestly think at this point we need to just go to Ono in Time Stop, cleanse her Soul Gem, give her a chance to explain if her attitude is just because of our missed appointment or if something more is going on, and then explain that she's living in an extremely privileged situation because of us. If Mami isn't there, maybe Witchbomb her?
No on the Witchbomb. We don't want to give Ono ammunition to use against Mami.

It's pretty clear by now that Megane doesn't believe us or take us seriously at all. Either that or she really is just that unpleasant.

[X] Ask Homura for timestop to reach Megane faster and easier.
[X] Find Megane and see what the situation is.
[X] Ask Mami and Homura if they happen to have any suggestions.

Eh, not sure about the order. Whatever Mami and Homura say, we kind of do have to see what's up with Megane regardless.

Maybe she just can't see the importance of it all.
Well, that would seem to be pretty obviously the case, given the extremely limited information she has been provided with.

Overall, the outcome of that conversation was very predictable. As are, sadly, the views people seem to have of Ono, without consideration of how we've already made ourselves look.

The attempts to convince via the "life or death!" panicky arguments were, well, not very convincing. Downplaying the events we had to deal with ("suffering from personal problems", "attacked by a witch") merely make it seem like the things holding us up from the original meeting were relatively minor. Recall that Sabrina and Kirika taking out that witch where we first met Ono only took a few minutes. If she expects that to be the norm (and it was, really, given that Homura's timestop was used on Elsa Maria), that's a very poor excuse for delaying a meeting for hours.

Basically, Sabrina has, from Ono's point of view, been a complete ass in arranging, rescheduling, and making poor excuses for missing a meet-up, while offering overblown warnings about "life or death" reasons to meet up now (never mind that those life or death reasons obviously didn't apply a few hours ago).

I doubt many people would be all nice and forgiving of Sabrina at this point. If SV was playing as Ono, they definitely wouldn't be.

We could just like, cleanse her, get on our knees, head to the floor, and give a genuine, heartfelt, personal apology and beg to know what we can do to get into Ono's good graces.

Because this is genuinely entirely our fucking fault.

Eh, we could have avoided this, certainly, but I feel far from guilty, from being 'at fault'.

For all we know, Ono could be a... not nice, but valuable person to have on our side, as long as we're polite in all our dealings with her, all the way through.

It's just... for all we also know, feeling insulted could be her trigger. I find it really hard to care for somebody that seems as frail as this...

Ohhh... Well played, Firnagzen. Give us a glass house to take care of, knowing we can't resist trying, then watch as we push and break it... It's not like you hid what you were doing, either...

I want to take her attitude, and break it over our goddamn knees at this point!! Break her haughtiness!!!

Okay, not the greatest idea at all I know, but I hate it when people start acting like this, I want to try and get her to stop for good. Even if it means breaking her more then a little.
I know. Still should work towards to putting these thoughts on Sabrina's head.

And don't mention the breaking. It's starting to sound entirely too appealing and it's still probably a bad idea.

We really should just have just kept our mouth shut after she rebuffed us the first time and either silently checked on her in timestop or just asked for help from Oriko. Because it's clear now that we've just made things increasingly worse, especially with the previous vote. We really do suck at diplomacy.

If it turns out that she's perfectly alright then it would be so incredibly frustrating. Of course if she does need help, it'll still be frustrating.

Uh, no. We blew our obligation, yes. But this is taking it way too far.

Perhaps Megane lacks the context over how dangerous witches can be, but the complete disrespect she's showing regarding the personal issues of others is something else.

Megane made her point. But now she's taking this way out of proportion.

So what should we do after this vote? Just straight out tell her that she'll die if she overuses her magic or lets the gem get completely corrupted? Would she even believe us? Because there isn't a lot of ways to get through to her unless we just incessantly annoy her into meeting us or just barge in, which I'm extremely reluctant to do.

MeganeQuest omake, anyone?

Sometimes I suspect that everyone we deal with is secretly another quest protagonist.
We haven't come across as very understanding. We've been pushy; not a lot, I feel, though part of that is knowing our circumstances, which Ono doesn't understand.

I mean, I haven't feel at any moment I would have reacted nearly as badly as Ono has, even at her age, but different people are different, and Ono is contract bait, so more care is required all around...

As far as overall objectives go, we're kind of shooting for the moon? We never expected everything to go smoothly.

I can't believe that people are still thinking about taking the cleansing offer. This "Sabrina" character is
obviously suspicious, and we should avoid her as much as possible. She can control grief: you know who else can do that? Witches. Or maybe Homucifer. Our soul gem is fine at the moment and we still have a couple of uses of the grief seed, so we're not desperate for cleansing, and even if we did we could go out and kill a witch or something rather than deal with her. Remember that when we met her she was with Mami and Homura and Kirika. Getting those three to willingly work together would definitely require mind control. And you know who was conspicuously absent? Oriko. I'm not saying that "Sabrina" killed her and took her place and rewrote Kirika's memories, except that's exactly what I'm saying. Just like Witch!Homura was able to rewrite everybody's memories in Rebellion. If you want to have our memories wiped, then by all means go ahead and vote to meet with the witch/demon girl, but I'm voting to stay as far away from her as possible. Heck, if Madoka weren't so important I would be voting to leave the city completely.

Fuck this nonsense. We are in the right here. She will listen to us or we will make her listen to us. We're not going to let her throw herself into a fate worse than death and drag her friends and family with her. We will beat her into compliance if need be. Sometimes you have to be the over authoritarian asshole to save lives.

We do need her to stop using her magic all the time, if she can help it.

As far as Soul Gem corruption -> Death goes, it's not really necessary she believes us. What with how much importance she seems to put in fer appearance, the warning about grief messing with her feelings might be good enough.

The death thing is more our excuse for our actions: Her life comes first, her feelings second, and we can't trust her with her own life, and that's the problem, I feel.

We can't trust Ono with her own life. Her whole person/character seems to be based around self-destruction, from her Witch supposedly being made out of glass, representing a very fragile ego, to her seemingly pushing herself/being pushed into straining that ego, trying to be the perfect little girl/daughter/student/whatever, which happens to consume magic for her now, which goes back to straining her ego due to magic waste... Contract bait at it's finest.

She could have assured us she would be fine until tomorrow in an entirely non-bitchy fashion and I don't think we would have believed her. Do we need to put Ono in a cage and keep her close at all times before we can feel sure she won't Witch out?

Maybe we should have just asked Oriko from the very start. Don't know what consequences that would've gotten us, but maybe.

At some point, we need to be able to trust her with her own life.

Would telling her to stop using her magic all the time, and convincing her about grief leading to death help? Maybe.

Would convincing her she's in a privileged position to have the option of not requiring to hunt for seeds help? Again, maybe.

When Mami said she believed Ono had hunted a Witch or two, IIRC that was quickly put into doubt, though Mami being Mami, she likely knows better than us.

At which point can we trust Ono? What can we do? What if we show her the 'normal' meguca treatment, kick her out the city with a couple of Seeds, and tell her she can come after she's realized how deep the shithole she's thrown herself into goes? Would she never come back from that? Die? Is it even possible for her to understand how bad things are?

I don't know, maybe we would have. Us telling Homura that we're not perfect and are prone to making mistakes is looking incredibly prophetic right now. Megane being extremely petulant is just fuel on the fire.

This whole situation is :jackiechan:.
