Sadly, Madoka is actually a nice, but all too non-special girl on her own. The best she could do is ask her own mom for counsel.
Madoka considers things carefully and asks other people for advice and takes time to make her decisions. That is a rare quality in anyone, especially a teenager, so I would say that Madoka is definitely special. When I first watched PMMM, I kept being amazed as I watched each episode and Madoka was still resisting the temptation to contract until the very end where she made an amazing wish that perhaps didn't fix everything, but still gave value and dignity to all of the suffering that had previously occurred and provided a much needed injection of hope. I'm actually fairly confident that Madoka could come up with a great approach to the Ono Megane situation, but it would probably take a lot of time and careful consideration (and advice from others). So that's not really an option because we need an answer right now.

Given Madoka's lemming syndrome this happens:

Madoka: I wish Ono Megane wasn't a bitch.

Kyubey: That wish cannot be granted. You don't have enough Karmic Weight.

Can we please stop bothering with this? I am thoroughly sick of Ono updates. Frankly, I'd rather have a Grief Seed than her; opening the thread every morning just to see Ono bitch at us some more is getting really demoralizing. So let's just go home; we can collect her in the morning.

If we need to explain this, I'm pretty sure Mami would buy that she got herself killed through her own stupidity...
If we give her the how-not-to-die lecture soon (rather than running away when we get frowned at again), we shouldn't have to deal with any more of this bullshit for at least a couple of days, and her attitude might improve in the interim. (Worth a try, anyway. It could hardly get any worse).
More importantly, if we don't, we'll just wind up chasing around dealing with her clueless blundering for the foreseeable future. Not appealing.

(Also, at least this one hasn't tried to ventilate our kidneys yet).

Current thoughts:

[ ] Ask Mami and Homura what to do.
- [ ] "She won't accept my help, or my apology, but I can't just leave her alone or it could literally kill her."
- [ ] If they don't have any ideas, abort to Plan Agent Whiskers.
- [ ] "Maybe we should ask Madoka what to do about Ono in the future. Madoka's smart, she'll think of something, right? Might even help her see how useful she can be without needing That Damn Rat."

Time to go full happiness-gestapo on her?

Sabrina - "You will be happy, or DIE!"
Ono - "No! Not my bitchiness! I need it! How will my ego feed itself now!"

She really REALLY doesn't get how good she has it here, with her attitude she probably would have been killed in any other city by whoever controls it, or at least had her ass severely kicked. I kind of want to just nail her with a "Oh Fuck..." moment to let her know just how far down the food chain she is and she's only safe here because our crew is dealing with the bigger fish, where the fish are blood thirsty sharks the size of large whales.

The Madoka line comes out of nowhere. Mami doesn't have the context for why she would have any incite on the matter and it basically amounts to a meta slip.

Also the part about referring to Kyubey is just jarring.

I don't really want to talk to Ono anymore. So let's just time stop, go there, and eyeball the situation. Nice, simple update, no possibility of confrontation, unless we see the situation and confrontation is really warranted.

[x] Ask Mami and Homura if they happen to have any suggestions.
- [x] "She won't accept my help, or my apology, but I can't just leave her alone or it will literally kill her."
[x] Follow any suggestions they have so long as it has something to do with helping Ono
[x] If they have no suggestions, ask for time stop, then go directly to Ono to see what's her situation.

Just a wording issue that bothered me. Otherwise Kai Merah's suggestion is fine.

Homura does, though. She's in this conversation too.

It amounts to informed knowledge. Sabrina hasn't really interacted with Madoka enough to come to that conclusion on her own, so the wording is off.

Also as that line isn't calling for Madoka's help on this situation, it isn't relevant conversation. It's a clear push for something else. Especially with the Kyubey reference.

We can ask Madoka about this whole thing later, if we want. We're still scheduled for a heart to heart with her.

Does time stop help somehow?

Our sensing range is greater than Ono's, I believe.

We need incite on her situation. Sabrina also can't make a determination as to how badly corrupted Megane is without line of site. If you recall she had difficulties with that when checking Masami and her friend (whose name escapes me at the moment. goddamnit) for the first time.

I hate to say it, but this is no longer a situation we can take half-measures on.

Maybe it's time to let out our inner Gilgamesh. She respects hierarchy? Show her just how far down the totem pole she really is. Mongrel.
Don't put it like that. I actually think kicking her down until she complies might be a valid course of action if things turn out badly enough.

Or at least make her understand her life had a high chance to turn out a hell of a lot worse than it is right now.

Sure, I don't mind the minor change in wording.

[x] Ask Mami and Homura if they happen to have any suggestions.
- [x] "She won't accept my help, or my apology, but I can't just leave her alone or it will literally kill her."

Yeah, but I don't want to just see her grief level. I want to see exactly what situation she's in. Time stop will let us get right up close to her without her knowing we're there or being able to put up additional walls against us.

All of this Ono stuff has me wondering. Have we decided on our policy for non-compliant meguca? Their not all going to conveniently go catatonic like Akiko.

This was me agreeing with you. I like your vote, if you're satisfied with it I'd vote for it.

I honestly think at this point we need to just go to Ono in Time Stop, cleanse her Soul Gem, give her a chance to explain if her attitude is just because of our missed appointment or if something more is going on, and then explain that she's living in an extremely privileged situation because of us. If Mami isn't there, maybe Witchbomb her?

This is the point where I lost all faith that Ono can even live, as long as she holds her own life in her own hands.

I never had patience for people like her, even young, so an extreme (seriously, not expecting a final vote to resemble this) vote to represent an idea:

Ono seems to care a lot about social status. If we want her to not do anything stupid, we need her to listen to us, and if we want her to listen to us, we need to put ourselves above her in terms of importance.

[] "OK, then."
[] Stop on a roof for a moment.
-[] Try to use witchy grief to make an anti-magic field (AMF); Mami or Homura can provide the magic to anti-magic.
[] Whether it works or not, full (non-timestop) speed ahead. Get to Ono and, if the AMF worked, use it to disallow Ono' magic.
[] Forgo politeness. Ono's shown herself to care quite a lot about social status. Kick her down to the bottom.
-[] Take her from wherever she is and bring her outside to have a talk at her. If she's with company, blatantly use magic and ask Kyubey to cover it up.
-[] Explain in no uncertain terms that it is her life we care about, and her feeling come a far second. If she feels awful about her lot in life right now, she shouldn't have made a contract.
-[] Explain all the (non-Witchbomb) dangers of meguca life: Grief accumulation due magic usage and negative feelings; negative feelings leading to more negative feelings, causing grief spirals into death, yes, death, as is what happens when a Soul Gem fills up completely.
-[] Explain she's privileged to live in the same city as ours, as not only our powers are unique, if we weren't here, she would've been summarily kicked out of the city due to there being too many Magical Girls to sustain. That's the common life for Magical Girls.
-[] Quiz her about everything you've just said. Warn her a Magical Girl in a Grief Spiral is a danger to both herself and everybody around her, and if she leads herself into magical depression out of spite, we'll care far more about the lives of people around her than hers.
I call this "Plan Gilgamesh". And, like all things Gilgamesh, I actually kind of like it. Too bad we're still trying to be polite here...
