I wonder if people will automatically begin breaking out the Kleenex, pillows and icecream whenever Sabrina has to tell them something important?

This just in...we're 23 percent sure that we're not a Witch from ultima33's poll. :V
Oh, all right. Let's just admit it. She's Sabrina: the witch of protection. She'll protect you whether you want her to or not. Her familiars are those who have conceded to her protection, either willingly or by force. She really does care for those she protects, and she wants them to be independent, but she can't help but dominate every conversation and meddle in every affair. After all... it's for the best.

And then the important message turns out to be that Kyouko's coming over to reconcile, and bringing a cute imouto to mentor with her.

I'm not entirely comfortable with Kinematics' write-in.

How do we know how Madoka and Sayaka met Mami? And how Mami met Homura?
How are we going to explain to them about how we know those things?

Kinda hard to think Sabrina is a Witch when she has already looked at her soul gem and actually seen her Witch in its nascent form. Along with its name.

Because, really, how could a Witch have its own Witch? What happens to a Grief Seed that turns into a....an even Griefier Seed???

But, without a doubt, any such Witch would have a nature of brain damage. Because it'd hurt the brain of anyone trying to make any sense of it whatsoever.

As much as Asunaro = no-no is something of a running theme here, Kazumi Magica does offer the chance for -- under some absurd circumstances -- it being possible for a lifeform to be cobbled-together from Witches that isn't a Witch proper, and is at the very least capable of forming a Contract.

So, I suppose that means there's now two possibilities for Sabrina's origin: Wish-born, and Frankenwitch?

Wish-transplanted. Divine avatar. Dimensional traveler. Sabrina-shaped void in the world. Gaia's white blood cell equivalent. Incubator experiment. Homura's spirit gained enough magic potential to split into a new person. Time-traveler from the future she will create (and/or Homura's last loop).

For all the fuck we know, she could be Madokami and Akuma Homura's yet unborn child.

On Asunaro, I do think we should go look into that, because there's the potential for staggering levels of clusterfuck and we actually have metaknowledge of the locals.

Gaia's white blood cell equivalent.
*Shudders* I'm going to somewhat hope against that, thanks. Bad memories from the Etrian Odyssey series.

Didn't it get mentioned earlier that the Asunaro in Adfligo Systema is changed from what we know from Kazumi Magica?

The Soujos are precogged to not get killed there and all the Saints, including Michiru, were alive as of us checking with Oriko. Pretty sure that's all we know.

Edit: We at least have more metaknowledge than we did about the parties in the Sendai-Ishinomaki war. Our information on Asunaro might not be perfectly reliable, but it's fucking something and that's a luxury we'll only have so often.

Here's Oriko's prediction Re: Asunaro:
"Right, so, Asunaro... Do you know of the group called the Pleaides Saints?" You flex your will, shaping the Grief into little models of the girls in question, each in their transformed outfits.

Kirika peers at the models curiously. "They need pants," she observes sagely.

"Yes," you agree. "Yes, they do."

Oriko considers the models. "I presume you wish for me to try and see if there are any major events pertaining to them?"

"Yeah," you confirm. "And one... uh, two more girls. Soujo Ayase and Luca." You form another model, of the twin-souled girl. Or possible single-bodied duo.

"Them," Oriko says, an annoyed tone in her voice. "They may come through Mitakihara in... two weeks."

You raise an eyebrow. "Hmm?" you say, interested. "Can you backtrack her, uh, them to Asunaro?" And isn't she supposed to die there? And how the hell are you supposed to refer to them, anyway?

Oriko purses her lips, regarding the model carefully, her Soul Gem beginning to bubble with Grief again. Her eyes slide shut, brow furrowing as she spreads her powers.

Eventually, she shakes her head, eyes opening. They're slightly glazed over. "Too far, too many events." She jerks her head at the models still floating in the air and immediately winces. "The Pleaides Saints are still alive."

"Even Kazusa?" you ask, the model of the girl drifting forward. Kazusa Michiru, nicknamed Kazumi.

Oriko grimaces, thinking it over. "Yes, I think."
Heh. Pants.

It's interesting to note that while the Saints are alive right now, Oriko didn't mention if they still are once the Soujo sisters arrive in Mitakihara.

Combine that with the 'Too far, too many events' line, it's entirely possible that a clusterfuck's gonna happen there within the next 5-10 days. Probably nothing like the shenanigans that happened in the Kazumi manga, but it still may or may not leave a lot of people and meguca dead.

Not gonna advocate storming the city the next day or two, no.

But, if distance is an issue for our precog, we could schedule a trip to a city neighboring Asunaro to get a better read on future events.

Maybe that zoo trip that keeps coming up? We could bring O & K with us along with Mami and anyone else that wants to join, then make the prediction there.

I'm not entirely comfortable with Kinematics' write-in.

How do we know how Madoka and Sayaka met Mami? And how Mami met Homura?
How are we going to explain to them about how we know those things?
There's no problem with that part. Madoka and Sayaka explained these things to us back in chapter two or three.

The real problem with Kinematics' write in is that it starts off with what is (at best) an intentionally misleading half-truth that Madoka and Sayaka "accidentally" stumbled upon the magical world. Let's not do this. Please.

Kinematics had some good points in the discussion. For my own vote, I grabbed his idea to let Madoka and Sayaka explain their own story of how they met Kyuubey, as well as the wording on how to talk about healing. But the vote has some serious flaws:
[x] "Madoka and Sayaka kind of got dragged into it by accident. That's how they met Mami."
This is either a lie or deliberately misleading. It would be better to leave it out and just let Madoka and Sayaka explain what happened in their own words.

[x] "Then I met them due to circumstances around when I arrived here."
[x] "And Homura met Mami earlier, and... well, lots of things have happened that tied us all together."
These points are empty waffling that don't actually convey any new information.

[x] "The important thing, though, is that through all of this, you've never really been directly affected, so we've been trying to avoid dragging you into the mess that is the magical girl world."
This is another lie. Kirika was the one responsible for pushing her down the stairs, so she has already been directly affected by the magical girl world (even though she wasn't aware of it). And we haven't tried to avoid dragging her in so much as we just left the status quo alone. We've always intended to tell her at some future point (i.e. now).

[x] "However it's not fair to them, or to you, to constantly have to tiptoe around this massive secret. You're their friend — our friend — which means we don't want to hide things from you."
[x] "This isn't a recruitment speech or anything; we're not trying to drag you into being a magical girl. This is just us coming clean about some of the issues that a friend should know about."
This is true, but it would be better coming from Madoka and Sayaka

[x] Help answer any questions she might have (though let the others take the lead where appropriate, rather than dominating the conversation), with the understanding that we're still wanting to visit Kyousuke before dinner.
-[x] Mention that, though you're far from the best, you are capable of some magical healing. If possible, we'd like to try healing Hitomi's arm and Kyousuke's hand before we head back home tonight.
These points are good. But the vote would be better (and truer to Kinematics' stated goal of not trying to dominate the conversation) if these were the only two points in the vote.

Edit: clarified my objection to the "avoid dragging you into the mess" point.

Less on Mado/Saya, and more on Mami realizing she hasn't told us about that incident and wondering how we knew. Again, I could've just forgotten, and she already told us about it.
Mami: Huh, I don't remember telling you that
Sabrina: Are you suuuure? Someone must have told me
Mami: I guess I must ha-
Sabrina: Okayyoucaughtme. I'm a pandimensionalwitchtimetravellerstalker and Iknow everythingabouteverything about you. Pleasedon'thateme!

We've had the opportunity to tell her literally every time we've spoken to her.
This is only what? the third time we've talked to her? Prior to this point, when we talked to her, we were always busy with other things and we never had the thought: "Oh, we're talking with Hitomi now. Should we tell her about magic?" Or at least it's never come to a vote where we decided not to tell her.

At any rate, we weren't "trying to avoid dragging her into this mess", we were just leaving the status quo alone.

:p

Going by the point system, the average (2,71) is closest to "I don't know what to think", approaching from the "Probably not, but could be" side of things.

So we're mostly confused but kind of hopeful that we're not a witch.

Actually, we've met Hitomi about 8 to 10 times, depending how you count two meetings in quick succession.

And we did want to tell her once, but we only told her we might tell her about something in the future, because Mami told us to pace ourselves.
