Admittedly, I, at the very least, was not aware of this....you guys do realize that there is wine just for cooking and you don't need to be of age to buy it...right?
FixedIt may not be relevantfor this particular momentat all, but what would happenswhenif we were to eat our own soul gem for some inexplicable reason?
Well, that depends on whether or not the Incubators thought ahead and made it so that it couldn't be melted by stomach acid.It may not be relevant for this particular moment, but what happens when we eat our own soul gem?
Fixed
I don't fancy exposing our Soul Gem to gastric acids nor suffering grief cleansing it while it's inside us.
Well, soul-gem eating did happen in cannon, in the third movie. My question is whether soul-gem eating is an incident which can occur under circumstances non-specific to Homura, since I don't know how the writer of this quest interprets soul-gem eating.
Supposedly the "official" recipe for ragù alla bolognese (i.e. what Americans call "meat sauce") calls for red wine. Also, I can think of more pasta sauces that don't have wine than ones that do.
Those were pretty bizarre circumstances, considering that Homura had just stolen the power of a goddess. It's not a circumstance we'll be dealing with here.Well, soul-gem eating did happen in cannon, in the third movie. ... I guess you could taste the wine if you didn't include garlic or marmite.Supposedly the "official" recipe for ragù alla bolognese (i.e. what Americans call "meat sauce") calls for red wine.
My main problem with the Muramasa vote is that it postpones the discussion about healing Kyousuke yet again. Breaking the masquerade for Hitomi is good. However, telling Sayaka that we're going to heal Kyousuke (and are making definite plans to do so) should be done right away.
"Sure," you say, rising to your feet and letting Mami lead you out of the lounge, just around the corner. There's a few nurses passing by in the corridor, but no one gives the pair of you a second glance.
"Sabrina," Mami begins, giving you a serious look. "I know what you're trying to do, and it's a good thing. But you don't need to fix everything in a day, you know?" She softens the minor rebuke with a smile.
"I..." you temporize.
"And besides..." she says, smile slipping slightly. "I... You just told her about Kyuubey, and..." the blonde chuckles, a forced sound. "I'm still... reeling, a little."
You look down at your feet. "You're right, Mami. I'm sorry I tried to rush thin-"
Mami reaches out, placing her fingers under your chin and gently tipping your head back up to face her. "Don't be," she tells you. "You have a good heart, and you're doing the right thing. You just need to pace yourself."
You smile. "Thanks, Mami."
Somehow, I think that eating your soul-gem to obtain omnipotence is something that only works in very specific circumstances. That would be fairly major bug in the system, otherwise.
I'm not suggesting that we heal Kyousuke right away. I'm not even suggesting any definite plans on how to do so. That discussion could be fairly time consuming and we need to get home to fix dinner in an hour or so anyway. So won't be doing it today unless we use timestop (although that is a valid strategy and would keep the doctors from noticing). And maybe letting Hitomi know should happen before we do the actual healing. But the active parties in the discussion about healing are ourselves and Mami and Homura. Sayaka needs to be kept aware so that she doesn't contract and she can also provide advice, but why would bringing Hitomi on board be necessary for the discussion about Kyousuke? And I feel the Hitomi issue should be addressed first and it's a good lead in to serious talk on healing Kyousuke. We were shut down hard when we attempted to bull through (effectively doing exactly what you're suggesting we do now) the last time. Mami's exact criticism was that we weren't pacing ourselves. One thing at a time.
Difficult? No. It would, however, be a terrible idea. Like I said, those are very special circumstances you're referencing: Homura had just ripped a goddess in half, and was in the process of rewriting the universe. Shit got a little weird. And since we won't be letting Momdoka become a goddess because it would make Momura sad, it's not a circumstance we're likely to see. Outside of that specific scene, eating our soul gem just leads to death, emergency surgery, or a few very uncomfortable days on the toilet.I don't think eating your soul gem lets you take control of the universe. I was thinking more along the lines of getting better control of our magic and perhaps a greater possibility of not losing our self when using too much magic. And yes, there are probably specific circumstances, and we might get lucky and not have to run into those circumstances, but eating our soul-gem isn't necessarily as grand or difficult as rewriting the universe.
But it's really subject to interpretation.

Discussing the idea of letting Hitomi know about the meguca stuff is fine. That should be a quick discussion anyway. But actually letting her know would probably be fairly lengthy and would hold off the discussion about healing Kyousuke, which should at least be started before Sayaka walks in and sees him being all depressed.Because both discussions impact Sayaka. There was talk on bringing Hitomi into the fold earlier but was shut down because of Sayaka's reluctance. There's a reason for that procrastination and it ties into both talks. One discussion leads into the other. Kyousuke talk is still in the plans and as you said, that's a lengthy discussion with the healing probably not happening today. So if nothing else we have time. Be patient.
Sayaka walking in and seeing him all depressed could make her more agreeable to his healing.Discussing the idea of letting Hitomi know about the meguca stuff is fine. It's almost like the lichbomb talk was completely and utterly pointless. Enough with the shadowruns. I would be immensely disappointed in Sayaka if she willingly sold her soul, on Kyousuke being depressed. Kyousuke talk is happening today. I see no reason why it can't happen today. Again.
