boonerunner + gullop

[x] "Would you mind if I asked why you don't want to go?"
-[x] We can probably disguise the arm if that's what Oriko is worried about.
-[x] Grief prosthetic? Disguise it in a glove or a sling?
[x] Ask for a shopping list from Oriko and ask to give Kirika the necessary funds.
[x] Ask oriko it is ok to uproot one more rosebush
-[x] If ok, uproot a rosebush with witch stuff to see if it is permanent when we get back from shopping.

[x] Take Kirika shopping
[x] Talk with Kirika about ojous
-[x] Something like ~Hey Kirika, my Oujo is sad ): she keeps thinking I'm going to leave her when I'm not. How do I make her happy again?~

[x] Ask Kirika if she would like to go flying someday
-[x] Ask how the healing is coming along, can she see improvement in Oriko's condition? Is Kirika's proficiency with healing improving?
-[x] Ask Kirika to tell you the bad jokes she came up with. All of them.
-[x] Bad jokes that we come up with:
--[x] "How does a precog say goodbye? See you later."
--[x] "How does an amnesiac say goodbye? I forget."
--[x] "What did the precog say to the meme? I saw what you were going to do there."
--[x] "How do you fool a precog? By making her wear motley and a hat with bells on it."
-[x] Buy the stuff on the list as well as anything we might need.
[x] Return to Oriko's
-[x] Ask them if they would be willing to assist you with experiments

...And I forgot about the entire incident that led to her contracting.

She's a pariah, guys. She doesn't want to be seen in public.

That's exactly how we should ask, but my guess is it's nothing to do with the arm and everything to do with Oriko's circumstances. She doesn't want to deal with the rumors or aspersions about her and her father's suicide? But honestly, this is just guessing, so I think we should ask and react.

I think we do need to convince her to come with us. Unless it's dangerous somehow.

Kirika never fails to be awesome, it seems. I think she's been waiting a while to have an audience to tell those jokes to, as well.

Come to think of it, precog jokes get a whole new dimension of humor to them when telling them to a precog. Nothing like already knowing the punchline to a joke about precogs...because you are one. Or, alternatively, not knowing the punchline because your precognition doesn't bother with such random, trivial things...and thus the irony of the joke being all the more exasperating.

[] Ask if you can bring Mami over sometime for reconciliation
Getting Mami (and Homura) to come over for reconciliation is predicated on their ability to forgive Oriko. We probably need to get that first before we ask to bring them over.

[] Ask them if they would be willing to assist you with experiments
This would (presumably) be part of the next update - the current one looks like it's going to be focused on shopping and Kirika fluff.

[] Talk with Kirika about ojous and love
Personally, I prefer the more specific option from Jackercracks: "Hey Kirika, my Oujo is sad ): she keeps thinking I'm going to leave her when I'm not. How do I make her happy again?"

[] Ask Kirika if she would like to go flying someday
This one is good, added it to my vote.

Whatever they are, Kirika's telling them and that means Oriko must like them.

...guys, you're assuming the precog is staying home because of her arm.

She could have a good reason. Hell, she may just be trying to avoid meeting Mami outside of her designated prison.
Well, I doubt it's that reason. She knows Mami is in school, and even if that weren't the case, Sabrina would be escorting them the whole time. Even if Mami sensed Oriko out and about, she'd inevitably also sense Sabrina right next to her--so she'd likely respond with telepathy to Sabrina, rather than coming straight over.

Plus, you know, precog. She'd probably see it coming if Mami were going to run into us.

Well, her Ojou keeps thinking she's going to die. Knowing Kirika, she might believe just because Oriko says so. We might want to address this? What does she think about it? Surely she's up for keeping Oriko alive.

@Firnagzen

How long would it take to finish healing Oriko's arm with Kirika's help?
When we started on it with Kirika yesterday it was estimated to take days just to finish her elbow joint.
Solids are harmless to us, and the Grief Flying Carpet and Mobile Grief Fortress didn't appear to harm the meguca who were riding them. But we haven't yet done a long term test of the effects of solid grief on normal materials or people.
:wtf: I... come on dude. The bag, our ring, the fact that neither Kirika, nor our ojou had any problems being on the carpet/jet. I think we're fine.

Regarding moneymaking schemes, suggestion follows:

"Grief Credit Card."
I've been gone a while...have we determined if things altered through Grief processes remain altered after we leave?

Could we rearrange some atomic structures and turn lead into gold? Or maybe we could create a device which uses conventional forces to effect a similar change?

Or a Grief printing press that uses real materials and methods, but does it using Grief to guarantee perfect copies or something?

Alternatively, we could become a back alley doctor and make a killing on mysterious miracle healings.

We don't need a reason to bring Mami over. 'For reconciliation' mixes things up a bit. We arrange to bring her over, on the way talk a bit about how Oriko helped us save quite a few lives the other day, she sees Kirika cracking jokes with us, hopefully shares a polite tea with Sabrina and Kirika breaking the ice, and then on the way back we talk about how they're good people when we got
to know them, even if they've made a few mistakes.

Putting the objective as reconciliation kind of makes things start awkward. Especially if we arrange it.

If we have to force things, drawing the parallel to how Mami saw Homura at first could work. But I don't see a need to go there.

I've been gone a while...have we determined if things altered through Grief processes remain altered after we leave?
The results of a magic grief healing wand are reversed when we get out of range, but it'd be really weird if just using grief to move matter from point A to point B didn't leave the matter at point B.

Point. Removed.

It is good to ask beforehand as an heads up maybe? Never the less, I moved it to the end. Probibly won't be part of the update, but just in case.

Seems good, added at the end to give firn a talking point.

[x]"Hey Kirika, my Oujo is sad ): she keeps thinking I'm going to leave her when I'm not. How do I make her happy again?"

We must say this.

My modified boonerunner vote kind of does. *cough cough* I'd rather make it a recommendation rather than forced words tho.

Mami's less likely to forgive Oriko if she doesn't spend any time with her, though. Reconciliation is a process, and getting them used to being in the same room without trying to maim off each other sounds like a good start.
(Homura's a different issue, and probably a lot more difficult).

[x] moonstne

Seems like a good solid fluff update to me, leading directly into more serious matters.

Also, I'm beginning to get worried that the most mentally stable person we know is Kirika. Sure she's crazy, but it's a very stable kind of crazy. Don't press the Oriko button and she's a gem.
