I'll not comment on the specific powers just yet.

But I'll say this much: I've given you guys an enormously useful and powerful, well, power set.

I have what I feel are excellent, or at least sufficient, in story and out of story reasons for doing so, though you guys won't see those reasons for a long, long time.

Well.

Probably.

I'm looking forward to it. :)

Edit: Sabrina can't save all MGs simply because she can't be everywhere at once - there will be always some girls who will witch out.

Edit 2: About entropy : Entropy is a proces not a balance - you are shifting from high energy status to low energy status. Balance is a status that isn't changing at all. And if you count hope as high energy status and grief as low enrgy status, then generating grief is well within the physics of the universe. Incubators also manipulate the souls - the wish and the hope of Puella Magi is generating by literal death of the girl and inprisonment of the soul in the soulgem (which is posible because of hope). The second source of energy is breaking of this unnatural state and destruction of the soul itself - turning the soulstone into griefseed (it require accumulating of the grief in the soulstone). The third source of energy is the grief itself - witches can acumulate grief from the enviroment but there isn't metod to chanel it from them - so someone must destroy them to "empty" the griefseed and then the seed could be refiled with grief again (from soulstones or enviroment - it dosn't realy matter) and Incubators can use it as a fuel.

Entropy is about balance. It balances energy equations all the time in bidirectional reactions to determine which direction the net flow will be in. When Entropy reaches absolute state everything will be perfectly balanced everywhere.

Entropy can largely be simplified to things having a tendency towards achieving equal distribution across areas. Equal distribution is commonly referred to as balance.

Entropy doesn't affect conservation of energy at all. However it does work in tandem with it as a driving force for moving energy around. The universe in its current laws is such that over the entire universe net entropy is always increasing. Any bit of counteraction against entropy is more than countered by the entropy generated from the building up the energy to counter entropy at that location.

The incubators entire goal is explicitly to stop the heat death of the universe. To stop the point at which everything everywhere will be balanced. Their goal is entirely about defying the direction of the entire universe, about breaking the tendency of all things towards achieving that balance.

Entropy is a process yes, but it's a process that works towards achieving the balance of all things.

[X] Wait for Mami to arrive

Firnagzen? A question:
Despite your slumped over position against the wall, you lean forward, staring at Kyuubey. "I wish to control grief! My own! That of others! The grief of the Witches! All of it!"

...

"Contract successful. Your soul has successfully reduced entropy."

How is Grief related to Entropy?

Edit: Sabrina can't save all MGs simply because she can't be everywhere at once - there will be always some girls who will witch out.

It's called delegating. We don't have to be there personally if we can arrange for someone to be there with a supply of refurbished grief seeds.

Grief is something the Incubators harvest to use to fight entropy in some wibbly-wobbly, poorly defined, manner.

Are any of our proposed plans likely to interfere with their operations sufficiently for them to be motivated to take us out?

Unforeseen Consequences pt. 6
You hiss softly at the sight of the entrance to the Witch labyrinth, considering. You could go in and meet whoever, whatever had gone inside, or you could wait for backup from your nominal senior. After some minor debate, you decide to wait. Madoka and Sayaka, taking their cues from you, similarly stop, a healthy distance away from the barrier.

"Sayaka, you said that Mami's on her way, correct?" you ask. At her answering nod, you continue, "Ok. I think I'll wait for her, then. I'm not confident of handling myself alone, yet."

Madoka smiles encouragingly at you, while Sayaka looks a little unhappy with that. She probably wants you to go charging in, but it's only simple logic that you, without knowing your own powers, should have time to at least try to figure out what you can do before going alone, right? She eventually nods in acceptance, though, and casually leans against the wall.
Tick, tock.
It's hardly a minute later when you sense another presence, another small wellspring of Grief and other, encroach on your senses. This one's moving impressively fast, at some distance up above the ground level - Mami, you surmise.

Your guess is confirmed when, moments later, a yellow thunderbolt crashes to a landing before you, golden ribbons dispelling in a burst of light to reveal the proud figure of Mami, resplendent in her puella magi uniform. The ringlets of her hair flap from the momentum of her landing, her beret staying implausibly attached to her head despite the violence of her maneuvers.

"Madoka, Sayaka, Kyuubey, hello," she greets her juniors, before turning her half-lidded gaze and a pleasant smile on you. "And you must be Sabrina?"

[] Write-in conversational direction
-[] Choose a tone. (Cool, friendly, cheerful, etc.)
-[] Choose how much to reveal. (IE. Do you know Mami, etc.)

=====

So, then. Do you pretend to know her? How do you want to interact? Again, this isn't binding, just how you interact with Mami for now.

[x] Worried newbie.
[x] "I'm Sabrina. I...think someone already entered the barrier." Follow Mami's lead.
[x] If she's unconcerned or otherwise decides to wait,
-[x] Introduce yourself. Explain the situation in more detail.
--[x] Mix of cool, friendly and inquisitive. Consistent with Mado/Saya interaction thus far.
--[x] Don't reveal any foreknowledge. Act as if this is the first time you've met.

[x] "Ah, you must be Mami then?" Introductions all round.
[x] Friendly and inquisitive for our tone, lets try and get off to a good start
[x] Acting as if lack of metaknowledge. Never met before, dont know anything about her.
[x] We can do more detailed introductions later, I think someones in there, we should see if theyre alright. (added as noted invisitext and suggestion further below)

This typo greatly amuses me.

"Did you know that the word 'fork' comes from the latin 'furca', meaning pitchfork? Since, you know, a fork is a small pitchfork!"

"Um, wha-"

"Clearly defined types of fork include: Asparagus fork, Barbecue fork, Beef fork, Berry fork, Carving fork..."

"Excuse me-"

"...Fruit salad fork, Garden fork, Granny Fork, Ice cream fork..."

"Is she always like this?"

"...Salad fork, Tea fork, and Toasting fork. Fork like objects include Knorks, Sporks, and Pitchforks, which, while technically sharing a latinate root word, are no-"

And they all lived happily ever after. I am far, far too easily amused.

[x] Be cool.
-[x] (Completely fail to maintain cool).
--[x] Settle for friendly.
[x] Introduce self, summarize situation, no more. Attempt to cut off potentially troublesome lines of questioning - no time, we think there's someone at risk in the barrier.

So, the other we sensed is puella magi-ness, and the grief is the unborn witch in the gem, presumably. That means whoever went in there is probably a magical girl, and due to the hidden text 'tick tock' she is likely in trouble. Whatever we do, it should be fast, as we can finish introductions somewhere more comfortable, like Mami's apartment, instead of next to the entrance to a murderous eldritch horror that might be killing someone right now.
